The question is pretty much the same as the subject. I have a bunch of debian servers - most of them running exim4 default installations configured as internet site using dpkg-reconfigure exim4-config. It can send mails fine from php scripts and some other applications, but I can't seem to find a way to forward all root mail to some external address. I have tried adding "root: someaddress@example.com" to /etc/aliases and run newaliases command, but it doesn't seem to work.

They each are running openSuse 11.2 and have Exim installed. On each machine from the command line in start Exim as a daemon by typing: sudo /usr/sbin/exim -bd -d and each machine runs through some output and sits there "Listening". View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using gnucash for years and never had any problems but now every time I try to load it it crashes upon trying access an account. The sequence is that it first tells me it cannot get a lock on ANY of my files reporting that they may be in use by somebody else; this is impossible. However when I do load it the initial list of accounts installs.
However when I try to open any specific account Gnucash crashes. I am using Mepis 8.0 and Gnucash 2.2.6 directly from the repositories. I have removed it and reinstalled it but to no avail. I have tried to install version 2.2.9 as a tar file but I keep getting dependency errors despite the fact the files are installed.
When connecting to an unknown unsecured wireless network, is it possible for someone to capture a header and resend it even if it's over https? For example I login on an ipod or on a computer and connect to a server through https and password auth. Although anyone monitoring the transmission could not get hold of my password since it's encrypted, could they just capture the header and resend it 5mins later to logon again without even knowing the password?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been using evolution for my email for about a year.It currently has 2 accounts set up.I want to create a third account so I went to Edit > Preferences > Accounts > Add.On the first page I click on "forward" and on the second page enter the new details. New name, new email address and when I'm finished I click on forward again and the second screen comes up. It has some server details on it iirc. Sadly after 2 seconds or so this screen disappears and the very first screen re-appears (where the only thing to click on is "forward").What's happening? Is 2 accounts the maximum? Any clues please?

I have set up the new account correctly, but there does not seem to be any way to delete the old account. I have renamed it to avoid confudion; but I really need to delete it.
How do I get kmail to send an email to back to the same account I am using it from? For example - if I am using kmail for the account me@email.net and I have something from an irc chat or IM I need to keep for future reference (instructions for something, contact info for someone, etc.) I open a new blank email in kmail, address it to myself, copy in the info and hit send, but the message never arrives. I have previously used this method with Thunderbird and Evolution and it works in both of them just fine but does not ever work in kmail.

My ISP has blown me off and tells me it's a problem of a firewall or antivirus program on my computer (I also can't rule out my router, but I seriously doubt it has that level of sophistication).en I try to send, after about a minute I get "4.4.2 Timeout while waiting for command" which is why my ISP says this is my problem. I have set up evolution with two POP account and it deleted all my mails from the servers, migrating them on the local machine.
How could I forward all the messages from Evolution to a mail account so I can access them over the Internet?
Forwarding all of them as attachment doesn't, because many of the emails themselves have attachment and it gives an error saying attachment type not supported.
If I try forwarding inline or quoted I have to forward them one by one and there are around 4000.

The work account is set as default. It is uppermost in the left pane. It is marked 'MH', which I think is to do with storage of the downloaded emails. Claws-Mail always polls my 'other' account first. This takes ages and prevents me getting my work email. How can I make sure the work account is polled first?

I have installed Fedora Core 11 with SELinux enforcing.It appears (via log files) that if I use a .forward file in the home directory for root that SELinux prevents the use of this mechanism for forwarding e-mail.Is there a way to continue to use SELinux and be able to forward root's e-mail to an outside account?
