I m having problem installing the intel fortran compiler 11.1 on opensuse 11.1, Please can some1 guide me to this pls. I m a total newbie. I ve followed instructions on the web to download the noncomercial version of intel fortran compiler 11.1. I ve also managed to succesfully install it on my 32bit system, but the compiler does not seem to work when i tried to use it. i did
zypper install gcc33-32bit error: gcc33-32bit not found
so i did
zypper install gcc33 installed successfully downloaded, unpacked and installed intel
I want to compile MFiX which is a simulation software. Therefore, I installed the Intel Fortran Compiler Ver. 11.x When compiling, I can only choose between Ver.9.x and 10.x.
This is a part of the error message when choosing either:
Is there a possibility to link the program to the newer compiler version?
I found difficulties on installing software in fedora 14. I'm trying this for 2 weeks and still there is no progress. I am forced to use fedora 14 as my OS since WRF is good in linux OS. I am hoping for soonest response for this matter because I need to run this as soon as possible for my thesis. and also A step by step solution for me to understand and install w/o any problems.
I want to build Taucs library [URL] , to use its sparse solver in some number crunching apps, [URL] Since i plan to build these apps with the intel development suite, i better build Taucs with the same set of compilers... but AFAIK Taucs doesnt exist in <testing> or <unstable> ( I could apt-get source, and set appropriate flags for compilers it it did ) and i do not quite understand its build system ..It is not a ./configure system...it relies on external libs like blas, lapack and metis... which regardless of existing in Debian repo are built with gcc-4.5... so.. no way of using this to link with an Intel built library...
in order to using the SR-IOV, according the guide HOW_SRIOV [Moderator edit: fixed link.]but i can't got the VFs.so i try to compile the driver :igb-2.4.13 and igbvf1.0.7.but i failed to install them.when i make install the igb-2.4.13 i got the errormsg:root@localhost src]# make installakefile:106: *** Linux kernel source not configured - missing version header file‚[root@localhost src]# i alreadly installed the kernel-headers-2.6.18-194.32.1.el5.x86_64.rpm .some system info maybe needed:Information for general problems.

I've been trying to install 5.5 here for the past few days, first from USB and now from the CDs, with no success. The problem occurs when I reboot after installing. After the BIOS has done it's thing I'm faced with a blank screen with a blinking cursor at the top left of the screen.
Initially I assumed that this was due to the intel driver problem which is reported in the release notes as a known issue, and the PC I'm installing on has intel graphics. However I have now done a text install and still have the same issue. I'm able to boot up the system using the CentOS live CD, which encounters no issues, and it mounts the local system no problem. After unmounting and remounting to get write access I'm able to change the device entry in /etc/X11/xorg.conf to have the Option "DDC" "false" entry. I can also see that the runlevel is set to 3 in /etc/inittab, still I get the blank screen on attempting to boot.
Any ideas on what might be wrong here? It really sounds like the intel driver problem people have described, and yet I can't even boot in text mode so that doesn't seem to be the case here. Could there be something wrong with the bootloader?
I have been able to load CentOS on my computer. I have the motherboard DG41TY from Intel. It seems that the only problem I have is my network card does not work. On the Intel site there is a link to download the network driver for Linux. I did that. It's an rpm file. realtek-r8169-kmp-default-8.004.00_2.6.16.60_0.21-0.i586.rpm is the name. When i right click and say install it tried to connect to the internet for some thing and fails. of coarse it does there not loaded yet. I added a second nic that cent did recognize and got me online. I want to load the on board driver and remove the add on card. When I try to load now I get missing dependencys.
I need to install fluka.its manual says: To install FLUKA a FORTRAN compiler suitable for your platform is required to generate the FLUKA executable(s). At this moment, the only distributed version of FLUKA requires g77. I cant find g77 in package list.in ubuntu and debian it was.how can i install g77?
we need to install R on a new server. When we go to compile R it goes through the checks and finds GCC but fails looking for F77. What is the suggested Fortran package with the latest GCC?

I've installed from the CD the Centos version 5.5. When I try to connect to Internet I can't because I received some errors. I've the Intel Corporation 82801CAM (ICH3) PRO/100 VE (LOM) Ethernet Controller also a wireless slot (I've the wireless card DWL-G650+) When I turn on the pc and I go to "Ethernet Device", I see set: peth0 (Intel Corporation 82801CAM (ICH3) PRO/100 VE (LOM) ETHERNET CONTROLLER) and also set "Bind to MAC address": fe:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff I've set manually the IP address (I'm under router). Status is "Active" but can't go on the Net. When I change to "eth0 (Intel EtherExpress/100 driver)...sometimes become "Active" an other times said that the MAC address is different or to check the cable because can't find the IP. What can I do?
I have an intel DP35DP motherboard - ICH9 southbridge - set to AHCI mode. Working fine under 5.2. Yesterday I updated to centos 5.3, and got kernel 2.6.18-128.1.16 and now it can't boot. It hangs trying to read sata1 with DRDY errors and exceptions. So then I installed 5.3 from a DVD onto a new drive, and got kernel 2.6.18-128. This worked, most of the time, but occasionally gave me this error. I then updated my BIOS, and the error went away. Then I updated this new working drive to the latest kernel (yum update again) and got kernel 2.6.18-128.1.16, and now it wont boot again, with the same message.
I've a Centos 5.1 server on S5000vsa Intel board with 6 bay HD in raid 1 mode (2 HD), and working fine until I've decide to make a yum update. Today the Centos is 5.4 but seems necesssary to upgrade the megasr driver for the raid function (i.e. , is not possible to contact the raid firmware trought Web Console 2). I've download the last megasr driver from Intel and I follow the instruction to upgrade the driver with s.o. installed, but when I start the server and choose via grub the new img boot file, the display show :
megasr.ko invalid module format -1 and stop. The linux version is the same in the machine (uname -a) and from the driver (2.6.18-164.9.1.el5). Another question : in Intel instruction spoken about megasr.o , but on img file I found a megasr.ko . I think instructions referre to old linux 2.4
I installed centos 5.1 in my system, it installed perfectly, but when I am trying to install centos 5.2 then it is not let me install.

I just came to know that we can also use HP MC Servicegaurd for clustering in Linux environment too. I did some google but could not found much info about the packages and all. Can I use HP MC Servicegaurd with RHEL/CentOS on 32 Bit Linux on Intel Machines? Is the rpm (or tar ball) of HP MC Servicegaurd freely available? I just wanted to use it for learning purpose.
