Software :: Failed To Install Chpasswd 2.2-4 I Have ./configure, Make, Make Install?
May 2, 2010
i installed a mail server in RHEL 5 with postfix, dovecot, openwebmail, but i failed to install chpasswd 2.2-4 i have ./configure, make, make install, but nothing happens can any one help me with some documentetion for chpasswd for changing password for mail account
Seems it failed because I am missing a header file called allheaders.h. What is this and where do I get it? Here is the output of the configure and make commands:
/var/tmp/tesseract-ocr-read-only$ ./configure checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
when i upgraded to slackware-current few days ago i tried to create packages with src2pkg and i get this:
Checking for Makefile rule: 'install' Okay Checking support for DESTDIR (or similar) - Found DESTDIR Installing using DESTDIR - Using: make DESTDIR=/tmp/xf86-video-intel-2.10.901-i486-1 install Notice - Possible error running 'make install' FATAL! Running make install has failed with error: 1 Try using INSTALL_LINE 'make -i install' Exiting...
is it because of i have slackware 32bits i installed src2pkg successfully on slackware 13 but on slackware-current if i remove it and do src2pkg --setup i get error something like cannot live without it every time. when wanting to create src2pkg-helpers.
but i want to know what im doing wrong ?
before i created packages successfully. i execute src2pkg as root
I have been trying to install a new driver for my wireless USB adapter, and I've been getting some "make" command problems and error messages. Specifically, I am installing the RaLink rt2570 USB Enhanced Driver to work with my Linksys WUSB100 adapter (chipset RaLink Rt2870).
I downloaded the package and used the readme from inside the package here:[url]
Here's what I have done directly after download to my desktop:
I just installed Gnome Shell in Ubuntu 11.04 through UGR Linux and everything works fine! The only problem is that I cannot run make and make install. I get the following errors:
Code: alexandros@Autobot:~/gnome-shell/source/gnome-shell-extensions$ make && make install Making all in extensions make[1]: Entering directory `/home/alexandros/gnome-shell/source/gnome-shell-extensions/extensions'[code]........
*edit Nevermind I think I found it on YAST * I have been having trouble finding the "make command":If 'make' is not a typo you can use command-not-found to lookup the package that contains it, like this: cnf makeI need to install 'make', 'g++', and all other building tools for suse.
I initially installed OpenSuse on my Laptops internal drive (clean formatted) and everything worked fine. Later I took out laptop's hard drive and put it into a USB enclosure to use as an external drive.
I have an Acer Aspire One, Model PAV70 that had Windows 7 Starter on it. I booted Ubuntu 10.10 from a USB HDD and then formatted the Acer drive with Ubuntu. I then started installing Ubuntu on the newly formatted HDD and got an error near the end of the install. It said, "apt configuration problem, an attempt to configure apt to install additional packages from the cd failed." After this happened the system locked up and I had to reboot. Now I get a black screen with a white blinking cursor. I can't get the system to recognize anything. What can I do?

I'd like to turn the output of "yum list installed" into a file list I can use to setup other machines? Something similar to "yum -y install < listofinstalled.txt" or something?
I am running fedora 12. It works very smooth in my system. My system configuration is given in my signature. When i am trying to install fedora 13 64 bit after that anaconda screen i am getting a screen of blue background and the rectangular small installation screen .but the problem is that nothing is there in that screen. It is completely white and the system stands there for ever. How can I install fedora 13?
Texts about partitioning with LVM are quite technical. However I should like to find a text explaining me how to manually make LVM-partitions in OpenSuSE. Like which ones, how big, how to do it. I made an auto LVM with /home. Problem is my entire disk is not used (/root was 5GB max /home was only 7GB max on sda2)and I was not able to make the partitions the seize I wanted.
I have now sda1 configured as /home 280GB and sda2 with the proposed partitioning of Yast. So only 5,9 GB for root. It looks like my try-out is working fine, however. Using normal partitioning is not a good option on my PC. He shows lots of black screens. With LVM no problem at all.
I have HP 6735B. I am trying to install openSUSE but I can't boot from CD. On all other computers and laptops I can start the installation with same CD, and on this HP i can start all other installations (WINDOWS, UBUNTU.....)
I'm trying to install Ubuntu Desktop 64-bit on my laptop. When I try to boot off the cd, and select 'Install Ubuntu', it loads 'live' (for lack of better terms) and takes me to a desktop. When I click 'Install Ubuntu' from the desktop, my cd spins for a sec, then stops. And it does nothing.
I am trying to install Ubuntu 10.10 on a Intel i5 quad core with 4 gigs of Ram. The Motherboard is an Asus P7P55D-E with an Asus Engt-240 Graphics card there is no on board Video Display. The issue that I am encountering is that the live CD begins to boot and then returns with a blinking cursor. I tried running the alternate Boot Cd with the same issue. I can get to the option screen on the live cd by holding down shift but anything that I select after that I am once again presented by a blinking cursor.
I keep getting a Permission Denied window when trying to install 11.04. I have tried from boot and from within windows. I am running it off of a CD and have UAC turned off.
I am following this tutorial to make ubuntu look like osx but it is hardy so i had to mess to get it to work with jaunty but i cannot install globalmenu ... if i try i end up with 216 broken packages but otherwise it is working well can anyone help me install globalmenu??
for a project I am working on, I need the same install configuration on every machine, and I'd like to have all the packages I need on one disc, with none of the ones I don't. I also need to use a non-standard file systems(jffs2,nilfs) as the hardware end of my project works on flash memory, and would like these two FSs to replace the typical magnetic disk based choices.
I configure my system in a long time and now I have a suitable system! But I install all directories in one partition and now I like install again, but I need make an image of my configuration for install from it and after install I don't spend time for again configuration.
Just installed fc13 and wasn't given the option for kde.... I like the desktop effect and Widgets.... is there a way to do the same with gnome???? If not what packages do I. Install from the apps list?
I want to install EVMS n machines with openSuse 11.2. The EVMS installation procedure (EVMS: Installation: Installing the EVMS Tools), point 3, says to do: "make install". I'm in the correct folder, there is the file Makeinstall.ini, but just try to run the command I've an error (make cannot have install like target).
this is my output:
linux-vxth:/usr/src/evms-2.5.5 # ls .makefile.swo INSTALL.initrd aclocal.m4 engine po .makefile.swp Makefile.in autoconf include tests COPYING PLUGIN.IDS config.h.in intl ui
[code]...
I tried too rename "Makefile.in" into "makefile" and "make.rules.in" into "make.rules", but then I have other problems
I am trying to make Liveusb with persistence i downloaded live gnome version which is in .iso format i also downloaded win32diskimager mentioned on this page Live USB stick - openSUSE but it only .img files i also tried unetbootin ,there is no option for 11.2 version my laptop doesn't have cd/dvd drive so to install on hardisk i have to do it by usb,so i thouht of going for live usb. are there any alternatives
I understand that one can easily make a bootable USB from a live CD installer. But instead of burning a DVD, I'd like to make a bootable USB from the oss 11.3 DVD iso file. Note: I just want to make a bootable USB, not to install 11.3 on USB. ( There are many reasons to do that, e.g., USB is much easier to carry, and also reuse later for new versions. ) But it seems there is no instruction to do that.
With the installation of 11.4 the grub will be installed in the MBR. When I first installed the Opensuse 11.4, restart my computer and get into the boot menu, I found that the OpenSUSE boot item was at the top while Windows Xp was at the bottom. It may cause problem when my parents are going to use the computer (they only know XP). How to set the Windows XP as the first item and the default choice?
I installed OSS11.4 clean install over 11.3, it is suppose to be dual boot together with with winxp. When i select to boot xp machine starts to boot but it boots forever and eventually nothing happens further (HHD does not spin). Can it be grub problem or it's winxp boot problem? When the actuall job of grub stops? Boot loader location: Bot form MBR, Boot from root partrition, boot from extended partrition.
attempting to reinstall 11.3, my system always freezes up at different points. Always during actual installation (not setup). Burned an 11.4 disc and the same happens. First was a DVD, but the new one is a CD, and now with the new version, a little dialogue comes up at the start to tell me 1 gig of RAM may not be enough. Well, it always was before. Is there a certain combination of settings which may make it run better? Also, a live session works fine.
