Do you know of any dvd copying program? like without making the image and then burning with just one process just copy the disc sorta program like roxio dvd copier? I wanted to make copies of movies I made a dvd of but aside from image burn which is a hassle to make the image first. is there something for burning on the fly or dvd/cd copying? infrarecorder and cdburnerxp do not work for me at all.

(Eg Plug Metallica Death Magnet into my Avalanche, each track displays its title, but my old Rush permanent waves from years ago wont)

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am burning DVD iso's and they seem to work great I have video output and sound output however as the film goes on the audio gradually becomes more out of sync but if I hit the rewind button on my remote and then play the sound is in sync again for a few minuets. I am using DeVeDe and Gnome Baker to create and burn my iso images to disc and they work great on the computer but not so great on my dvd players I am burning onto Verbatim DVD-R using Ubuntu 10.04 lucid lynx.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've bought Earthworm Jim 1&2 from gog.com thinking that i could play it on my old Pentium 2 computer running DOS.
The problem is the game requires it's soundtrack CD, which is suplied by GOG in the form an ISO image with a .inst file that acts as some kind of header(just like a cue file is to a bin image). It contains details about the tracks. But i have no ideea how to burn it. Brasero will burn it, but it's unreadable. K3B doesn't seem to like it.
DOSBox has no problem mounting this type of image, and the game works fine after i've mounted the image.
So the question is, how should i burn this type of file(ISO Audio Image with .inst header)?
I'll also post the contents of the .inst file
Code:
FILE "EWJ1.gog" BINARY
TRACK 01 MODE1/2352
INDEX 01 00:00:00
TRACK 02 AUDIO
[Code]....
I'm trying to burn an audio CD with Brasero. Every time I try this, it fails, but it works when writing to an image file. Brasero quits with the following messages in log:
Code:
Checking session consistency (brasero_burn_check_session_consistency brasero-burn.c:1744)
Unsupported type of task operation
Session error : An internal error occurred (brasero_burn_record brasero-burn.c:2862)
Do you know what could be causing this?
I'm looking for a program which supports iPod and burning playlists to CD's from inside (well, I'm looking for iTunes but damn these people in apple they won't release a version...)
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm sick of screwing around trying to script a clean solution to burn multiple files and folders to CDs and DVDs with wodim, growisofs and genisoimage.I'm looking for a high level command line program that uses sensible defaults and takes arguments something like this:[program-name] [cd|dvd] /path/to/dir1/ /path/to/dir2/ /path/to/file ...It should then do all the low level copying and ISO generation transparently and just burn the damn disk!Does anyone have any suggestions? I've looked at several programs but it seems there are too many choices to trawl through and not enough information about them online.

I'm running Ubuntu.
I recorded many useful lectures this year. They are now on my HDD an with their 196Kb/s mp3 compression they take almost 30Gigs of space.good GUI Ubuntu 10.4 program for ripping them to smallest size possible (I don't care about quality - they are voice recordings) 8 Kb/s would be nice. But all programs I have tested since offer me only higher qualities.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't have support for burning MP3's in K3b on Fedora 13. K3b is, for me the one and only best burn in tool and I use it exclusively for backuups to CD's, DVD's, saving music, etc. Various blogs say to go to Livna and install k3b-extras-nonfree but when I tried that, k3b-extras-nonfree was not found.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a number of uncompressed audio files recorded off of an analog (POTS) telephone line of fax transmissions. Is there a Linux utility or library I could use to convert these files into images of the fax they contain? I'm not looking to send/receive a fax via a modem, but just to "replay" the communications tones and parse out the fax message.I'm guessing this may not be possible due to duplex issues and not knowing which end of the conversation is sending what, but thought I'd ask to see if anyone knew of something.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI was burning a disc with K3b and it was from an ISO; Burn and verify. Everything went successful, but when I put in my 2nd DVD to burn, K3b doesn't recognize it. On top of that when I right click on the icon of a Blank DVD on my desktop, it doesn't have the Eject Volume option there anymore. Does anybody know what could be going on here? why would my Fedora (11) stop burning and ejecting discs all of a sudden?
also, I tried this with multiple DVDs/drives to see if they were bad DVDs/drives and it's all the same result. Also, since I didn't have the eject option on my desktop I had to eject it with K3b from within the program. There's still a problem though.
edit: Some reason K3b is recognising discs again and is burning again. I guess the restart did it and I don't know why it was acting funny.
I have been unable to burn CD's / DVD's while logged into FC12 with a full GDM session or with just the Gnome Greeter running. If I drop to single user mode and use wodim I can burn w/o issue.

Just switched from a pata dvd burner to a brand new sata dvd burner. I cannot believe how slow it is! My write speeds in any program I use tops out at .9 and slows dramatically down to .3 alot.

My idea pata drive was quite fast. Is there something about the sata drivers causing this? Check bios, Checked drive, Checked software. Cannot really figure this one out.
I'm trying to burn an ISO file with Brasero. It always fails when finalizing. The ISO checksum is ok. The same ISO file is successfully burned in WinXP with CDBurnerXP on the same hardware. So the problem is neither the ISO file nor the hardware. What is wrong with my setup?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble getting the pulse audio server to find the hw0 with the common m-audio 24/96 audiophile. This card worked with previous versions of all forms of pulse but seems to bork on the HW0 function for audio out...which is a stereo analogue simple output. Audacity sees the HW functions but pulse does not! Here is a screen shot of the pulse crap. And another screen shot of what the real card at "alsamixer -c 0" sees. There is no dac or adc detected or configured with pulse. This does not make any sense as alsa and alsamixer has all the correct device controls available to any other software that uses the ice1712 driver.
I am using Fedora 12 amd 64 as a live usb on a 16 gig stick and want to be able to record and mix audio on to HD with my reliable high end m-audio pci sound card without having to mess with the pulse crap or having to install a full HD option. BTW in the pulse sound configuration gui dropdown list there is no indication of HW0 and the only devices that are available in pulse are digital outs.....go figure, so essentially I can see all the correct connections and use programs that access alsa directly eg: audacity but have no sound through the crappy and ever borked pulse audio server! Any suggestions as to how to remove all the pulse stuff that comes with most distros that use gnome? I have done this deed before with Ubuntu but do no know how to do the deed with an rpm based system. If I install a non pulse version of xmms and let it use jackd then I should have reliable sound for cd audio etc and should be able to configure VLC, Ardour and Nted well without pulse getting in on the action and screwing up my sound.
