how is limitation with ip_recent where highest value for hit_count is 20,and how i need to modify and recompile ip_recent.But i was not able find anything about either modify or recompiling that module.I have cent os 5.4 64 bit,iptables are installed over yum.Also i have 4 servers with completely identical configuration,yet on two servers portflood works while on other two it reporting that error.Maybe it was different install cd which caused this,but again i dont know why this doesnt work since iptables version are indetical.

Jan 30, 2010i dont know if this is the right section for this but i installed linux after i installed windows server 2003 and some how the grub loader got messed up and wouldnt show, only windows would boot. i fixed the grub loader through my live disc and when i select Other operating systems i get Error 11: Unrecognized device string. here is my fdisk -l.

Jan 31, 2011This started happening about 2-3 weeks ago when i noticed our backups weren't running anymore. whenever i try to run ANY type of scp command I get the following error: warning: Unrecognized configuration parameter permitlocalcommand ssh: FATAL: Illegal -o parameter "PermitLocalCommand no" lost connection
I checked the /etc/ssh/ssh_config file and there was a command PermitLocalCommand commented out, but for testing I even totally removed that line and then in scp forced the use of that file via scp -F /etc/ssh/ssh_config ......
and I still get the same error. This command is nowhere is any of my ssh config files so im at a loss here on how im supposed to fix this!! I even checked my home directory for maybe a ssh config file that might be overridding the system config but nothing.

Ubuntu :: Error 11: Unrecognized Device String When Changing The Boot Order To Default
Jun 24, 2010i downloaded backtrack 4 (final) and booted the iso onto a flash drive using unetbootin. i then changed the boot order so the flash drive was first. after i did that i got into backtrack 4 did the install.sh and now i cant boot windows 7. even after changing the boot order to default, i turn my computer on and get a message that says:

May 13, 2011This is my first use of Ubuntu, but I have previous decent experience on Centos & Mandriva. I've just installed Natty 11.04 on a box that was running a mandriva 2010 - and the network is acting quite strange. When I define a static IP for eth0 through the gui, along with route & dns, it sort of works: ssh is fine, vnc too. However, I have an asterisk running on the box, and it is wild: some packets get lost in the box.
An ngrep shows the packets reaching the interface, but they dont show in asterisk !!! I've done a ufw disable, iptables is empty (why cant I service iptable restart btw ?). ip route list show decent routes (eth0 default); When I switch to DHCP, it is better, but unstable... If i plug a wifi usb stick, it seems to be better... Is there some known issues that could explain this behaviour ? May 11, 2011i am currently trying to install vsFTP onto my new linux server and btw i just started using linux today this is my first time using linux so i got the ftp installed good it got downloaded and everything then i went to open a port for my server for vsFTP i used this comand to open it "-A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -m state --state NEW -m tcp -p tcp --dport 21 -j ACCEPT" then i closed it by pressing ESC then :wq! and it brought me back to my comand line again so now when i try to start the ip table thing with the comand "service iptables start" then when i execute that comand putty respondes with this "Applying iptables firewall rules: iptables-restore: line 1 failed [FAILED]"
