SUSE / Novell :: Open - 11.1 Does Not Recognize My Broadcom Wireless Card
I am running openSuse 11.1 64 bit on my hp pavilion dv6458se; and am unable to get my Broadcom wireless card to work.
i tried reading a few forums, but they all start when 'lspci' recognizes the card.
My problem is that 'lspci' does not show any 'Broadcom' card.
I have given below the output of 'lspci' for your reference.

SUSE / Novell :: Broadcom Wireless Verse Open - Repositories
I am running opensuse 11.2 on my hp 2133 mini notebook, I have been having trouble connecting my broadcom 43xx internal wireless modem to my BT Home Hub, I have looked at the b43 driver that comes pre-bundled with the live dvd and understand that the driver doesnt work, I have looked at the YaST Package Search and to my horror found 50 seperate packages, from: wl-kmp desktop - wireless driver for broadcom 43xx series of chips to sta-pae kernal for 43xx series of chips? How do i know which Kernal and driver i need to get my wireless network running and which i dont?

SUSE / Novell :: Wireless Network Card - Intel 3945ABG - Works Before Last Online Update
I am running Suse 10.1 on an HP laptop. After my last online update, the wireless card would not start. I can not turn on the Wifi light(there is a button to manually turn it on, but it no longer works). And i tried the solutions too: - update the driver - update the firmware ... - even log in as *root* to see if it works. However, I still can not have the Wifi light lit up as it used to be. This is so odd. Can someone help me out?

SUSE / Novell :: Install Fails To Recognize Ide Hard Drives
I have an Intel MB (855GME with 6300ESB) that I'm having trouble installing OpenSUSE 11.1 onto the IDE drive. It will install to a SATA drive but for various reasons I need to install on IDE (PATA on 6300ESB). The install fails to find any ide drive (I know the drive/interface works because I can install XP on this same ide drive and boot from it). If I parse the dmesg output I see the message "ata_piix 0000:1f.1 device not available because of BAR 2 (0x0-0x7) collisions". I'm trying to determine if there's some workaround for this. I've tried various kernel parameters and no joy. I've tried Ubuntu with similar results. Older kernels WILL install onto this same MB/PATA controller (Ubuntu 6.06, 2.6.15 and RHEL4) so it seems that something changed in the ATA driver as the kernel has matured and my bios isn't up to snuff for these pickier drivers.

Fedora Hardware :: F13 Does Not Recognize Broadcom BCM57780 Ethernet Card
I've just installed F13 on Acer Aspire 5551G with has Broadcom BCM57780 ethernet card. And F13 does not recognize this card: in System > Administration > Network Devices tab is empty (but in Hardware tab the card is listed). So, I can't connect to the Internet So far I've found: 1) Related bug for F11. 2) Related thread for F12. I've tried all possible solutions mentioned in both the bug and the thread, but nothing could convince my F13 to like the ethernet card.

Hardware :: Getting Mint 10 Julia GNOME To Recognize Broadcom WiFi Card
Here are the specs for the computer in question: Distro: Mint 10 Julia Gnome Dell Inspiron 1100 2.40 ghz Intel Pentium 4 8 kilobytes primary memory cache 512 kilobytes secondary memory cache 20 GB HDD 1 Gig MB RAM (2 512mb sticks) Linksys Wireless-G Notebook Adapter WPC54G V3 CDRW/DVD Optical Drive From the title of this post, you can see that I am having some trouble getting the Linksys Wireless-G broadcom card working. I have been doing some research and have heard that getting a broadcom card to work in Linux can be a real pain. I have verified that Mint 10 recognized PCMCIA so I am good there. I installed Wifi-Radar to see if maybe it would recognize it but it did not. When I type iwconfig, it does not show any wireless signals available. When I originally set up the partitions for this laptop, I used PartedMagic and was able to quickly set up the network on that with vertually no problem what so ever.

SUSE / Novell :: Getting WLAN Working In Open 11
I have the system recognizing the card by default. I really didn't have to do anything in that regard. It's a Broadcomm A/B/G card. On the other hand, it won't detect any access points. I'm not sure what's wrong. I've tried adding them by hand, but no dice. For reference, I have automatic updates running of course, the system was installed within the last 12 hours, so nothing's outdated, and the adaptor is a Broadcomm BCM4312 802.11a/b/g card. iwconfig output:

SUSE / Novell :: Touchpad Not Working In Open 11.0
Running GNOME under openSUSE 11, I am unable to use my touchpad for controlling the mouse cursor on-screen. This seems to only affect one profile, as I logged on as another user and can use the touchpad to control the mouse w/o issue. I checked under Control Center > Touchpad and Enable Touchpad is selected, however I cannot control the mouse cursor under my main profile. I don't recall doing anything before to disable this, and also under Sessions in Control Center the startup program Touchpad is selected there. Again, this is only affecting my main profile, as I set up another account for testing and was able to control the cursor with the touchpad. Any ideas of what I need to check to resolve this? Also, in addition to this, I can use the mouse buttons associated with the touchpad within my main account to control mouse button clicks w/o any problems, just the cursor is unable to move.

SUSE / Novell :: Mplayerplug-in Not Working In Open 11.2
Just installed opensuse 11.2 (64-bit version) and I have a problem with the Mplayer browser plugin. Basically it comes up OK, I get the MPlayer plugin splash screen and controls exactly as expected, it downloads the media successfully (or at least looks like it does) but then doesn't play, it just reports "Stopped". Mplayer itself works fine, it's just the browser that doesn't. SUSE / Novell :: Nokia N70 As 3g Modem On Open 10.2 ?
I have nokia N70 as 3g modem on my laptop ASUS A3A. I've already configure the modem by using yast and manual config through konsole. When I use yast, it recognized my n70 as a modem and I already configured all the provider settings that I assumed as correct because when I used those config on windows, it works all the time. When I try to connect through knetworkmanager, I can see that on my phone that it was connecting to the internet as a modem but suddenly the connection terminates. I checked on /var/log/messages for errors and I found this : I've tried configuring the connection settings several times but I still get the same problem. Then I delete all the settings and configured through konsole. All the configuration was good and my computer detected my n70 gracefully. When I try to connect, the same problem occur which LCP terminated by peer. This is what i found on /var/log/messages :
