Logwatch has been showing me there is kernal errors present on my server.Below is the full report from logwatch, please let me know if there is anything I should be aware of and fix.
View 1 Repliesi want to make sure my mail server is behaving as expected. the past two nights, i've received logwatch notices below. the section in question is the 20 or so deferrals from some .ru e-mail address. i've since removed the user that registered on my wordpress blog (wlvp@yandex.ru) and added the three IP address to iptables DROP, but these "e-mails" still look like they're in some queue unless i'm reading wrong. i've removed known usernames in case you find the numbers useful. why are all these deferred messages here? if they're stuck in a queue, can i remove them?

I have 4 partitions in my system, out of which two(sda1, sda2) have windows on them. I have installed RHEL 4 32 - bit on sda3 and after that , installed installed RHEL 64-bit on to a partition sda 5. Now i am unable to boot into RHEL 32-bit. The error i am getting is Error 13: Invalid or unsupported executable format.

i m trying to fix the nvidia drivers and stuff to let Desktop Effects work. I reboot after some changes, and at first I got a kernal error message, and the Fedora froze. So I restart,, and it freezes before I even get the error message. Pop in the live cd, booted up from it so I can talk to my fedora friend, and the reboot to try again. Works, still hasn't froze, and I could get the actual error info.

[ntpd has a permissive type (ntpd_t). This access was not denied.]
SELinux denied access requested by the ntpd command. It looks like this is either a leaked descriptor or ntpd output was redirected to a file it is not allowed to access. Leaks usually can be ignored since SELinux is just closing the leak and reporting the error. The application does not use the descriptor, so it will run properly. If this is a redirection, you will not get output in the netlink_route_socket. You should generate a bugzilla on selinux-policy, and it will get routed to the appropriate package. You can safely ignore this avc.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was intending to do a clean install of 10.04.I have downloaded and burned desktop-i386.iso.After booting from CD and selecting install from the menu, I get the splash screen for a few minutes, then black screen, then purple ubuntu screen, then the error message "the installer has encountered an unrecoverable error. A desktop session will now be run etc.....".
I am thinking this may be related to ACPI, because when i 'Try Ubuntu without installing' it loads ok but I get a 'Crash Report' notification on the panel.
If again 'Try Ubuntu without installing' with F6 option "ACPI=Off" it loads up with no problem.
Another thing I noticed is that when I load with ACPI=OFF, my external drives automount, but if i dont turn ACPI off, and get the Crash report notification the external drives do not automount.
Today I upgraded my 10.10 to 11.04. Since the last step of upgrading, when it was restarted, I get stucked in consola where it is checking, and there is written fail at stopping automatic crash report generation. How can I repair it. I tried to do

Brand new build of RHEL 6.1. Registered with RHN and then ran yum update. Everything completed fine, but now when I try to use yum in any fashion I get: Options Error: need more than 1 value to unpack Anyone else ran into this error? After extracting (tar -zxvf eugene-3.6.tar.gz) compilation files from eugene.tar.gz, I used ./configure to compile. Since I already installed gd (>=2.0), compilation error comes in need of gd lib (>=2.0). Again I removed the software & installed newly downloaded. But still it showing same error. What's the exact error in this?
