OpenSUSE :: Unable To Resize Embedded Graphics In OpenOffice?

Dec 16, 2010

The document WNIOSEK O WPIS DO KRS has a CORS logo as an embedded graphic in row 2. The document opens in OpenOffice Writer but the logo is visible at the natural size only; as soon as I enlarge/reduce the picture, either by changing the view resolution or resizing the picture, it just disappears. It happens both in Edit mode and in Print PreviewI tried to export the graphic to a separate image but it did not work. There is a command Save graphics in the context-sensitive menu; it is undocumented either in the Customisation dialogue I used that command and the resulting image was blank. Copy/paste to GIMP via the X Clipboard gives the same blank result.

Fedora :: Unable To See Controls On An Embedded Video Using Firefox

Nov 16, 2009

I have embedded a video into one of my website's pages but when I go to the page, using Firefox, the video, which plays automatically, has no controls for play, pause, stop etc which means you have to exit the page to stop the video (if you don't want to watch at the time) It is also the same where it is uploaded to [URL] or Hideho Takagawa When viewing through either Seamonkey, Opera or even Konqueror the controls are visible on both places. here's the embedding code I used.

Code:

<OBJECT ID="MediaPlayer" WIDTH=400 HEIGHT=300

Edit: I've actually found the solution, I had more than one mozilla plugin installed and as soon as I left myself with the gecko plug in everything works fine

Ubuntu :: Unable To Resize Window

Jun 19, 2011

I am running Ubuntu 10.10 and the window for Gnome Color Chooser that I have installed is no longer able to be resized. I can move it around when I do an alt + mouse click, but the window is too big to view all of the options it contains. The normal ability to resize the windows by their corners no longer exists on the program and the keyboard shortcut to resize the window does not work either.

Fedora :: Unable Resize All Windows On F15 And Gnome?

Sep 4, 2011

I just installed Fedora 15 on a new laptop and I am using the Genome desktop. There are some applications that will not the allow you to resize the window. Some examples of this are Libre Calc, gnome-tweak-tool and a window in the package installer. In all these cases when you right mouse click on the top of the active window the "Resize ALT-F8" is grayed out and is not selectable. This is real problem when I'm trying to install the Perl-IDE-for-vim package because the list of dependencies is so long the confirm button is off the bottom of the screen and I cannot resize the window to get to it. There is also a similar issue with the tweak tool where some of the field are chopped off because the window is too small. As for Libre Calc I just don't like a window taking up the whole desktop.

General :: Unable To Resize (enlarge) Partition?

Jul 2, 2011

I want to increase the size of my Linux partition (yellow and highlighted in image), which is situated in an extended partition, along with my biggest partition.

When I try to select the options from any partitioning software (EASUS, Paragon, Gparted) the option to resize is not available (or can't enlarge).

For example in the Paragon Hard Disk Manager, I can't add free space before the partition, even if I first shrink the "G:" partition, then try to enlarge the one with Linux.

Do you know what's happening here? Why am I not allowed to resize the partition?

OpenSUSE :: KDE 4.6 Konqueror Embedded Text Editor (only Viewer Now)?

Mar 2, 2011

i recently updated a machine from 4.5 to 4.6 Factory and the Embedded Text Editor function for editing text files inside Konqueror seems to be broken (viewing file is fine, but no editing). Doing research i found that it had been reported, but ignored as an "opensuse problem": Bug 259338 - I cannot edit text files when I preview them in konqueror by using "Embedded Advanced Text Editor" which is not a case in 4.5 seems like i remember that it was a kate plugin or katepart functionality, but others would know more.it was apparently reported in the RC days and disregarded, perhaps someone has more info about it?it doesn't seem to be a config file problem since a new user is in the same boat.for me it is oft-used and would be sorely missed.

Ubuntu Installation :: Unable To Resize Partition With Gparted On Live CD?

Feb 17, 2011

I recently got new hard drives for more space and copied all my old drives onto this one (everything mirrored, no problems)The thing is, when I first setup my Ubuntu, I only allotted like 20GB because of space. Now that I have new hard drives, I wanted to give it more space, roughly double it to 50gb.The problem is, I am unable to resize it.I have booted into the Ubuntu Live CD, and started Gparted. I see all my stuff there, including the unallocated space next to my ubuntu partition (I left it so i could fill it when I expanded the partition)

The problem is, I am unable to make it larger. I right click, click on resize/move, but when I do, it just shows that I'm at my maximum size for that partition, I can only shrink it.so my question is, how in the world can I extend that partition into the unallocated space?I've tried formatting the unallocated space to ext3 to try and merge it, no success.I tried moving my ubuntu partition all the way to the right (end of the disk) so maybe I could extend it to the left, nothing

Ubuntu :: Unity - Unable To Resize Launcher Icons Or Set To Auto-hide

May 2, 2011

I recently upgraded to 11.04 and I've been tweaking Unity to get the desktop just the way I like it. I've come across two minor problems though:

1. When I tweak the icon size settings in the Unity tab of CCSM, the icons do not change size; they remain at the default "48" setting regardless of what I type in.

2. When I set the Unity launcher to auto-hide (also in the Unity tab of CCSM), it stays at the default "dodge windows" setting.

Are there any workarounds to change these settings when tweaking them in CCSM's interface does not work? (Or is there some trick I don't know to get CCSM to work properly?)

General :: Unable To Run Openoffice In Headless Mode?

Mar 18, 2010

I want to automoate some PPT -> PDF conversions, so I want to run openoffice in headless mode for scripting.

On my machine with X running I can start opemoffice in headless mode via

soffice -accept="socket,port=8100;urp;" -headless

This doesn't seem to work on a server with X not running.

$ soffice -accept="socket,port=8100;urp;" -headless
/usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice.bin X11 error: Can't open display:
Set DISPLAY environment variable, use -display option
or check permissions of your X-Server
(See "man X" resp. "man xhost" for details)

The error doesnt seem to make sense as well, as the point of specifying -headless was so that I do not need X, while this command seems to look for X.

OpenSUSE Install :: No Video After Boot With IBM X3650 And Embedded ES1000 Display Adapter?

Aug 2, 2010

I was wondering if anyone else ran into and issue with 11.3 with an IBM x3650 server using the embedded graphics card. As a reference this exact machine was working under 11.2. I am aware that there were significant changed in how video works in 11.3.

While installing and during the initial start of the operating system I can see graphical output, OPEN SUSE logo and such.

During the boot process the screen goes blank. The server is still running and I am able to ssh to the machine, but there is no access to the console.

Below is a segment of the /var/log/boot.msg that shows some errors. I can provide more logs if that would assist in tracking this down.

I did a quick google search on ES1000 and i2c and saw the same errors reported with Ubuntu version but nothing for OPENSUSE. There seemed to be a bug that was fixed in that kernel.

OpenSUSE Install :: Can't Resize The Partition

Mar 17, 2011

I want to install linux next to my Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and changed my windows partition from 700GB to 100GB. Now I want to use the other 600GB for linux and formatted it in Paragon Partition manager.

But when I try to install OS 11.4 I get the message that it can't resize the partition because of the type (which is NTFS) and it wants to delete the whole disc including the windows partition. How do I fix this? Do I need to delete the 600GB partition again in Paragon so its unallocated and then use Suse on it?

Or can I better first install Linux and then Windows? (for next time so it would be nice if the above worked out)

The openSUSE 11.2 installation disk doesn't want to let me resize my NTFS-based WinXP partition; it just says that the fs is inconsistent and that I should check this issue in windows... But even though I've scheduled diskcheck to run after a reboot, it doesn't! Is there some way of "forcing" the diskcheck to run upon startup, or how else can I resolve this issue (without re-installing my entire system)?
