View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to configure mpd (music player daemon) to access my music files that are stored on a windows server (NAS).
In the mpd configuration file I have to point to the directory in which the music is.
How do I do that? Is it something to do with mount?
I have downloaded a musictracker.so file. How do I install this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedPreviously after doing aptitude upgrade, my pidgin seems broken with no gui shown. So I decided to download the latest source from pidgin website and build it from source, but I think I made situation worse because it then complained that ssl lib was needed. Then I removed the libpurple (e.g. aptitude purge libpurple0 libpurple-bin libpurple-dev) and reinstalled pidgin (aptitude install pidgin). Now it shows the error
pidgin: symbol lookup error: pidgin: undefined symbol: purple_media_element_info_get_type
I searched on the internet and can not find a solution. The clues on the internet says that's because the piding I use is the older version of libpurple. But I think I've removed all with purge and reinstalled it. Maybe some legacy binary is referenced. What or where it might be? Or where there may contain related information.
I have a problem with Transmission. After using it for over six months without a single problem, it suddenly stopped downloading. In the torrents that do no get downloaded, I get an error message Tracker responded: Unknown error (0) in the info window, tracker tab. But there are torrents with the same tracker that don'thave a problem and get downloaded fineThe logs don't give a clue about whats wrong either.I tried downloading those torrents with Vuze and I had the same problem. What could be wrong?

In the room here are 3 computers with outputs through a Behringer mixer to a Sony surround sound system--it sounds better plus I dont have the spider web of a separate sound system for each machine. 11.2-64 has been excellent so far with the exception of the music player--Amorak. Someone decided to leave out any sound contour tools. I also have Banshee and MPlayer but have experienced various problems with them. Amorak, at least for my use isnt too lame but whoever "They" are decided to do away with the graphic eq.I like the ability to build playlists with Amorak which is missing in some other programs without an exercise in file system manipulation. Any one have suggestions?? One note I will add here is that in Windows 7 64 bit professional, which I am forced to use because of no software for my work written in Linux, running on another machine here-- someone had what I consider the really excellent idea of incorporating a graphic equalizer on the machine output under the Realtek audio package..one eq to control all sounds from that machine--anything like that available for SUSe??

View 7 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to KDE 4.4.3 this morning, but after that Amarok (with Xine backend) does not play music any more - track is progressed, but only silence comes out of the speakers. I tried Gnome music players too, but none of them plays anything.
I installed GStreamer with different kinds of plugins and switched Phono backend to gstreamer. When I start Amarok now, it says I have no MP3 support, so it has to be installed. It does it, restarts itself and it can play audio again. After restarting, having no MP3 support is reported again.
I have just bought a ipod to download some songs in it ,but now I want to transfer the songs into my computer ,I have tried many times ,it's faid .
View 2 Replies View RelatedApart from KsCD and CD Player, (both of which are pretty good, but very basic), I have found it impossible to eject any music CD or DVD on any of the following:
Amarok
JuK
Media Kaffeine
MPlayer and
SMPlayer,
there does not seem to be any button, command or whatever to get the CD or DVD out of the drive, so now find that only way, is to stop player and then to open CD Player and use the eject button there.
I've had an awkward problem lately: every music player I use wants to instead of play music from my USB external hard drive, stream music from it. I have no idea why it suddenly started doing that. It may have been an accidental key-combo I pressed, thinking I had another window targeted and didn't bother pressing it again for my Totem music player. So I closed out of Totem in hopes that Rythmbox would work like totem used to. Well, it doesn't. It wants to stream music now.The problem with the streaming music is trivial, but here it is: I have a playlist with a little over 300 songs. I have Totem set to shuffle and repeat my music. Streaming music with it makes it just stop randomly after a few songs, and when I try to pause music and play it later it takes a good 30 seconds before it kicks back in at the beginning of the song.Like I always ask because I don't know enough to give back to the community yet, can anyone help me? Thanks.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI would want to record/edit/save music from the microphone (convert a tape to CD). But. I start audacity, leave everything at default, record the music, and play back. It plays agonisingly slow. I can change the sample rate manually such that it sounds good, but this is just a guess (I could for example measure the recording time, and adjust the sample rate after that, such that the displayed time on the timeline fits this time). Why the hell do I need to do this? Why is the recording sample rate = playbe sample rate not producing correct output?

View 3 Replies View Related3 o 4 days ago I installed KDE 4.6 from KDE 46 repository and I upgrade my OS and some applications like Amarok. I had some problems so I erased .kde folder and reboot my computer. KDE 4.6 works fine and fast (in my opinion, faster than KDE 4.5) but I have problems with Amarok 2.4. When I try to scan my music collection Amarok don't find any song. I have a NTFS partition in my computer and I have all my music there. I mount the partition since fstab and in 6 months I didn't have any problem. I can use Clementine for exmple and scan all my songs perfectly, but not Amarok.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI would like some info regarding an external backup hard drive I use. This carries a lot of text and sound files that I need frequent access to, and I would like to be able to quickly search on that drive using the standard GNOME tracker search facilities. The drive is connected via USB and mounted to /media/hhrutz/Mnemo2.
I have the following questions:
- the database is maintained on my laptop's harddrive in $HOME/.cache/tracker and $HOME/.local/share/tracker/data, correct?- therefore, it would not be a problem for the tracker to update its data if I decided to mount the harddrive in read-only mode?- is it possible to get an overview about the size of the database?- do I have to keep the button "Include removable media" in the "Indexing Preferences" checked?
In other words, is this harddrive understood as a removable media?- if so, can I exempt this drive from "Garbage Collection". That is, I generally do _not_ want to index for example USB thumb drives and such, so I use the default 3-days expiry settings. Does that mean, all the gathered data from my backup harddrive will be gone if I don't connect that drive every two days? Can I prevent that? Because the indexing takes extremely long
I also notice that while the tracker is spinning my harddisk, it doesn't ever seem to advance. It stays at "1%":
> 10 Jun 2015, 18:03:25: 1% File System - Crawling recursively directory 'file:///media/hhrutz/Mnemo2'
this problem is quiet enoying, so i hope that somebody can help me tracking down this problem and find a solution. When i open vlc or exaile and queue a list of tracks, after playing some hours, the sound hangs and in the music player repeats the same 1 second audio part like a hickup, in video programs like vlc also the film freezes.
i have the latest libraries of gstreamer from packman installed and i also tried updating the pulseaudio libraries from multimedia repo. but the problem is still the same
I've noticed tracker-store burning CPU and thrashing disk when I login to a KDE session. I'm tempted to disable it by modifying /etc/xdg/autostart/tracker-store.desktop. But before I do that, what added value does it bring to the party? It seems like it's mainly involved with desktop indexing, which I never use (does anyone?).
