OpenSUSE Hardware :: Bluetooth Does Not Work With Kde Modules But It Works With Blueman And Nautilus

I am trying to connect my samsung mobile to a laptop, with bletooth. In Ubuntu it worked normally. I have installed opensuse 11.3 KDE and tried to connect when KDE bluetooth module gave me an error that my mobile does not support services. I have solved the problem by installing nautilus from official repo and blueman from factory repo and now I can connect to my mobile with blueman and browse the files with nautilus. Is there a known problem with bluetooth and kde or something is wrong with my opensuse?
Bluetoothd is running. bash-4.1# pgrep bluetoothd 25394
But when I start blueman-applet the icon on the toolbar is like white with a red 'x' in the centre of it, which doesn't seem right. I'm using fluxbox as my WM so don't know if that's the reason, but blueman isn't responding when I try to setup the device with gui (blueman-applet). My groups for my user are.
I have a problem with BT again, I installed blueman from SlackBuild at [URL], but when I start it (from Setting > Bluetooth Manager), it was running with a minimized window at the taskbar for a while and not appear any window or icon on the system tray.

I would like to send files from my verizon env3 feature phone to my computer via bluetooth, but I can't find anyplace to input a pin. Both the computer and phone offer pins but they never give me a way to input a pin. I am cautious about linking without one because I don't want my computer hacked.
based on the HW compatibility list, I bought a Conrad "Bluetooth Stick Micro" (Order number 97 19 99) => Does someone know, if this is "really" the one mentioned in the compatibility list ? Can I find out, what chip(set) is used ? (I'm somewhat "afraid", that the name might be the same, but the chip(set) changed. No, it is unfortunately not mentioned in the documentation coming with it) Unfortunately I didn't get it to work on Suse 11.2 (64 Bit) so far. This is what I tried: Installed bluetooth packages, based on the information I found.
I looked for a bluetooth section in yast2, but couldn't fine one. (I think I saw one in earlier releases...) => Did I miss it ? Do I miss a package ? (I checked all packages containing "yast" for something.) So, with no yast2 module present, how do I do the basic configuration ? The documents I could find all describe how to use the bluetooth connection, if the basic setup suceeded.
I'm resuming here (after suggestion of malcolmlewis) my problems with Bluetooth and Smeegol. May be there is out there someone able to give some advice. TIA.
From the netbook (Samsung) i see the available bluetooth advices and can even configure them but doing file research ON that devices is not possible. I can only send files to, but not get files from there (e.g. Nokia cellphone or PB G4 running Debian). Now, i think (but not sure on this) in Smeegol the administration of bluetooth is done by the connman (as i understand a connection manager developped by the Intel Open Source Group which was responsable for Moblin as well (?) ) and so, it might be a defect. of that connection utility.
So, i installed blueman (i know from other devices i use, runs very fine and stable in Debian) but with blueman i got this error, when i tried to access the other devices by bluetooth:

Then, after suggestion of malcolmlewis, i installed bluez-hcidump and tried as root in a terminal: hcidump. The "result" was:

and then the process froze without any additional info (even after an hour i didn't get back to the terminal prompt!).
And here, i'm out of any further idea. Might be a bug in Smeegol, as someone suggested. Would be sad (since that feature of bluetooth is pretty much essential for me, since i often use the phone to take occasional photoshots i need for my work) but good to know as well. Would be even better if there would be a workaround .
The reason why I'm asking help here is because I'm being continuously ignored in #opensuse-irc-channel in freenode. I updated from 11.2 to 11.3 couple of days ago. I have always used gnome and loved it. Update from 11.1 to 11.2 didn't bring any problems and neither did from 11.2 to 11.3. Update went fine, no errors whatsoever occurred. Of course I had some problems with nvidia drivers and it was hard to get dual screen to work, but I managed. After that I figured out that nautilus is missing, because my desktop was empty and no right clicks worked. So I tried to run it from command line to see what it prints out:

I don't know what's the case but my nautilus just won't work. I ran "zypper dup" and synced the packages, and after reboot I figured maybe nautilus from 11.2 would work, so I one-click-installed it from software.opensuse.org/search without adding the repo of course. And for some reason it worked, maybe because I had zypper dupped before.
Being happily using my computers couple of days I noticed video thumbnails don't work any longer, so I killed nautilus. And duh, it didn't start again. I reinstalled nautilus from 11.2, and it looked like this:[URL] I decided to update it back, and live without nautilus until I find the solution. This is also my server, so reinstalling the system is not an option because I have all those confs and I don't have hard drive for backuping. I also tried again zypper dup from official repo with no joy. I also tried zypper dup & reboot from couple of other repos, like gnome latest for opensuse 11.3, but nothing changed.
I attempted to install Nautilus Elementary...the results were not what I expected however. First of all, it doesn't seem to even have installed correctly, but thats not the main issue...after installing, Nautilus looks like this...
I have installed Blueman. But I want to disable it on KDE startup so that whenever I turn on my Bluetooth, blueman shouldn't take over the KDE's Bluedevil.
I am looking for image batch processing (mainly resizing) apps. As I have problems with Nautilus Image Resize in the other thread, are there any other software that is fairly easy to use to batch resize images? Preferably from a one-click install that works. I tried Phatch, but that didn't work for me.
I'm shopping for a Bluetooth dongle and I'd like to find one that "just plain works" with Lucid. I've searched and found a few posts about bluetooth, but nothing encouraging so far. Hopefully someone is using one and can vouch for its compatibility with Lucid.
Does anyone know why Nautilus would allow me to login to a server but not display any files, but when I log in via the 'ftp' command-line binary, it works and allows me to display all the files, make directories, etc.? I was able to login via FileZilla too.

I can use smbclient -U name //ip.adresss/"My Place" to connect with no errors, but nautilus will not open the folder. nautilus discovers the computer but not the folder. maybe I need some debugging info from nautilus...
CentOS and RHEL even though I've been using various Debian/Ubuntu Distros for quite some time. However, I always used to install perl modules via apt-get or, if that did not work, via cpan.In CentOS, I tried installing a couple of perl modules via yum but there are only a very few available. When trying to install perl modules via cpan, the install process usually fails during the make process.I'd prefer to install those modules via the distribution's package manger yum as it's easier to resolve dependencies. Are there any repositories I should add to have more perl packages available? (Where to add further repositories, I just know /etc/apt/sources.list in debian based distros)The other option still would be to install perl modules via cpan. I found a solution to my card reader problem in a another fedora post but when I type the code in terminal I get: all config files need.conf /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist How to write this code so I wont get this error and I can load these modules and also how to edit the modprobe.conf.
The code is below, using fedora 13. You must load these two modules to work with card reader. First : Remove the card from the Reader! AS superuser type in console : 1. /sbin/modprobe tifm_core <enter> 2. /sbin/modprobe tifm_sd <enter>

Im trying to get a Bluetooth USB dongle work but I cant.
Bluetooth Preferences doesnt recognise it and bluetooth manager gives me this error "Bluez daemon is not running, blueman-manager cannot continue.". See attached captures.
I already tried many solutions proposed in other threads with no luck. I reinstalled their packages and it keeps the same.

I've been trying to load my pcmcia network card driver "xirc2ps_cs" at startup with no success. I have added "modprobe xirc2ps_cs" to the rc.modules file but it doesn't load at startup. Curiously, though, if I execute rc.modules AFTER the machine has booted it will load the modules just fine. Just not during the boot up process. Thinking that hotstart might have been causing problems I've disabled hotstart (chmod -x) temporarilly to remove it from the picture, but there was no change.

i have had my bluetooth keyboard and mouse working fine for a little while now, then one day.. seemingly out of the blue (no pun intended) it stopped. heres what i deduced:

I have a 2.4 Ghz iMac from 2007 with Core II Duo processor and ATi 2600 HD graphics card. I had OSX (SL) and Windows 7 installed earlier. To avoid pressing ALT key to get OSX started, I installed rEFIT which gave me the idea to triple boot system with LINUX. So I repartitioned the system and installed Unity (Ubuntu 11.04) on it. The installation was smooth but somehow bluetooth did not work. I am using the proprietary ATi/AMD driver from Hardware Extra in Unity and the system works great (even 3D cube works fine). I though of upgrading Kernel to 2.6.39.0 but the system gives an error while loading the files.
The error is primarily with flgrx driver. Keeps giving [Fail] result. When I had replaced the proprietary driver with ATi open source driver, I could upgrade the kernel to 3.0. The bluetooth gat "ENABLED" but would not connect to Magic Mouse. Now I have reinstalled the system with 2.6.38.8 Kernel and keeping it simple as the earlier efforts required 6-7 reinstallations of Unity. Please offer solutions if bluetooth can be enabled with present Kernel or how to safely upgrade the kernel without loading the Open souce ATi driver. I have already tried "sudo service bluetooth restart" and it work but I have to do it every time I reboot the system, hence not desired.
