Oct 6, 2010

I have just installed openSUSE 11.3 and enjoy using MonoDevelop , and I tried to use XML Serialization in C# : The Help shows the following code for XML Serialization :

C# Example
// Simple XML serialization
using System;
using System.IO;
using System.Xml.Serialization;
public class MyObject {

[Code]...

but when tried the same code the error was : /home//Projects/xmlTest/Main.cs(14,14): Error CS0234: The type or namespace name `Xml' does not exist in the namespace `System'. Are you missing an assembly reference? (CS0234) (xmlTest)

Slackware :: Namespace Error : Failed To Parse QName 'xml:'

May 12, 2011

My only problem with Slackware 64 13.37 is that Crossover Linux doesn't seem to install correctly. It claims successful installation, but several lines of these errors occur:

Code:

Use of "goto" to jump into a construct is deprecated at /home/x/cxoffice/lib/perl/XML/SAX/PurePerl/Reader/Stream.pm line 56.
/home/x/.local/share/mime/packages/cxassoc-cxgames-0.xml:6: namespace error : Failed to parse QName 'xml:'

[code]....

Then, when I try to restore certain cxoffice "bottles," I get the following messages:

Code:

Unhandled exception

or

Code:

wine: Unimplemented function user32.dll.DialogBoxParamW called at address 0x7b8402f9 (thread 00f2), starting debugger... Everything worked fine in Slackware64 13.1.

General :: ACPI Error: [CAPB] Namespace Lookup Failure, AE_ALREADY_EXISTS (20110112/dsfield-143)

Apr 1, 2011

It seems my laptop (an Acer Aspire One AOA150) runs out of MTRRs at boot. I've done some googling on the problem and read that people recommend turning on MTRR sanitizing to fix it, however, it still occurs. I'm running Arch Linux (but that shouldn't matter). You can see that I have enabled MTRR sanitization here:

[chris@helios ~]$ zgrep 'SANITIZER' /proc/config.gz

Debian Configuration :: Network Namespace Bridging

Jan 27, 2016

My task is to create network namespace, so it can be used to perform some other tasks from it.

Debian 8.2 is used in VMWare virtual machine on windows 7. I have also tried same things with Raspbian on Raspberry Pi 2, but same problems appear.

First, i have followed tutorial https://lwn.net/Articles/580893/ to create pair of virtual ethernet interfaces.

Now i have veth0 in global namespace with ip address 10.1.1.2/24, and veth1 in netns1 namespace with ip address 10.1.1.1/24, and i was able to ping each one from another

Next, i have followed tutorial [URL] ..... to bridge eth0 and veth0, so i can access internet from netns1 namespace.

- First, i have deleted ip addresses for both eth0 and veth0
interfaces, and set them do DOWN state.
- New bridge is created (br0) and both interfaces (eth0 and veth0) are
added to it.
- Then both interfaces are set to UP state, and i run "dhclient br0" to
assign ip address to br0.

From global namespace now it is possible to run "ping google.com" (and br0 interface is used), but from netns1 namespace i get error "Network is unreachable".

$ ip addr show
Code: Select all    1: lo: <LOOPBACK,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 65536 qdisc noqueue state UNKNOWN group default
        link/loopback 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd 00:00:00:00:00:00
        inet 127.0.0.1/8 scope host lo
           valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever
        inet6 ::1/128 scope host
           valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever

I recently swapped from courier to dovecot on my server and it's working fine, but I can't seem to get the autocreate plugin to work.I have followed the directions to enable the plugin and autocreate and autosubscribe 2 folders.After enabling debug I can see an error "autocreate: No namespace found" listed for both folders. I haven't been able to find any other instructions, docs or threads that suggest what has to be done to the private namespace to allow it to create these folders.

OpenSUSE :: Ldap Users Appear With UID Numbers, System Claims They Don't Exist?

Jan 19, 2011

I wanted to use ldap to create users on my machine.I got LDAP set up via yast, and it seems to work OK. But when I create a user via LDAP, the system doesn't seem to want to know.LDAP actually creates a home directory for the new user, but the system merely assigns it a UID and nothing else.I have access to another opensuse system which does not behave in this way. I.e. I can set up a user exclusively in LDAP and the system will recognise the new user no problem.I have compared the two ldap configurations to see if there's some magic "propagate LDAP users to Local users" setting, but this doesn't appear to exist

Ubuntu :: Changing File System Type To Another Filesystem Type - Does It Effect On Data?

Feb 4, 2011

In my system around 73gb(pc-desktop) i have,1 primary partition(windows)-25gb, 1-extended partition(remaining gb) 3 logical partitions were there in (under) extended partition in one of the logical partition is d:drive. in my hard disk d: drive is -/dev/sda5

previosly i was fat -file system , (d:drive-/dev/sda5), i remember i changed the d: drive(d:drive-/dev/sda5) file system to ext4file system ,with following command using terminal

After doing(changing the file system)this one ,i couldnt see the d:drive data

By doing that

1q) Did i reformatted the partition? i think the new filesystem(ext4) has no knowledge of the data that was on it when it had a FAT filesystem.

2q) How to do undo operation,i tried to change the filesystem type to fat/ntfs in terminal using command --sudo mkfs -t FAT /dev/sda5.

Result:its showing text message-'mkfs.FAT: No such file or directory'(not in single quote)

I had very imp data in d:drive

OpenSUSE :: Getting Login Error When I Select Meego As Session Type / Sort It?

Jul 30, 2010

I installed goblin by run GoblinUI.ymp and logged out.
After I logged out, I chose meego as session type and tried to login again.
I entered correct password, but when I press enter after type password , display change to black and got some message and backed to login session again.

On the other hand, I succeed in running MeeGo Live CD(1.0.1 build 1.4).
I wrote MeeGo Live CD image on USB Flash Driver by using Win32 Disk Imager, and boot that one successfully, although it has some flaw.

Network Settings Window is stuck in workspace and can't move or close, so it cover other appication's window. Internet on toolbar is broken, so I have to run FireFox in application toolbar to use internet.

I'm using Netbook based on Atom CPU and GMA.OpenSUSE installed in my netbook is installed by KDE Live CD image.

Should I Use Gnome to use Goblin, because MeeGo is using Gnome? Or.... what is problem make Goblin doesn't work?

OpenSUSE Install :: Option "Repair System" Does Not Exist In 11.3

Sep 23, 2010

Turns out I downloaded the openSUSE 11.3 DVD Full and well, I see that in the boot options, I do not see the option "Repair System", only:

"Install"
"Booting from Hard Disk"
"Verify installation media"
"Firmware Test"
"Test Hardware"

No more, and I see that everyone leaves the option, as in version 11.2, to "System Restore / Repair System" Is there any way to get it? I need to repair GRUB, as I appear, I had it in a logical partition and therefore I have GRUB errors, since the re-installation of windows and then deleting it, I thought of this. Any way to get this option by the Live CD or what? Is it a BUG in version 11.3?

Fedora :: When Do "start > Computer > System Settings > About Me" And Try To Type In Password Get The Following Error?

Jul 17, 2009

I just installed Fedora 11 (KDE) off of the Live boot CD. I made a really simple password when I was installing, but later I decided to make up a much tougher version of it. When I do "start > computer > system settings > about me" and try to type in my password I get the following error:"BAD PASSWORD: is too similar to the old one BAD PASSWORD: is too similar to the old one BAD PASSWORD: is too similar to the old one passwd:Have exhausted maximum number of retries for service"This is weird because it seems like the system thinks I made three attempts, while I only tried once. Does anyone know what is going on? By the way I don't know why it thinks my password is too similar, It only has 3 of the same letters out of 8 Also, this is my home computer, why does fedora restrict me from a similar password? It should just warn me about it but then let me do it.

Ubuntu Installation :: 'No Operating System Installed' - GRUB Doesn't Appear To Exist

Feb 12, 2010

I have a dual boot windows XP/ubuntu 9.10 set up on one hard drive. Everything was working fine. The 9.10 install had been updated from 9.04. I recently had problems with the XP partition (XP basically collapsed) so I re-installed XP on the same partition it was on before. I then attempted to reinstall Ubuntu ( I decided I wanted a new 'clean' installation of Ubuntu as well). When I got to the partition function it refused to recognize that there is a Windows partition, or a previous ubuntu partition, but states 'No operating system installed' or similar, and offers the entire hard drive for installation. When I look at the partitions using Windows partition software the Windows and the ubuntu partitions are clearly in evidence. I have also tried to reinstall GRUB but it doesn't appear to exist.
