I am in the process of migrating my old server into new Linux new server. As part of the , apache configuraton is one of the process . i have installed http with yum. i added some test dir like /date/test underwhich i created one test.html. When i start apache , it says Starting httpd: Warning: DocumentRoot [/data/test] does not exist.i am not sure about it. I have directory exists. however it shows the error message.
I got the "The file '/var/log/syslog' does not exist." message when I tried to run KSystemLog as well as "The file '/var/log/auth.log' does not exist." when I tried to view the authentication log. There is no icon beside the items "Krfb," "KSystemLog," and"Nepomuk Backup" in the "System Tools" menu of Gnome.
when I reviewed the error_log I found that it is logging thousands of errors which are similar. I've included a sample of the errors. The following error seems to happen constantly, from many different ip's...
Code:
[Thu Apr 22 01:02:06 2010] [error] [client (the ip address removed)] File does not exist: /home/virtual/site4/fst/var/www/html/colombia-news,
I am running a fairly new Debain Jessie stable installation with Xfce desktop. I need to use Xfce4 becuas the standard Gnome 3 does ot work when logging in with xrdp which I use becuase the actual box is headless.
I have an issue when starting synaptic. When I start it from the menu entry it just does not start. When I start from the terminal with
Code: Select allgksudo synaptic
I get an error box "Unable to copy the user's Xauthorization file" At the same time I can see in the terminal window a message
"Error copying '/home/userxxx/.Xauthority' to /'tmp/libgksu-SwcIe0': File or Directory not found".
I assume it is related to that I use a rdp session to connect, but I am otherwise clueless.
Code: Select alluserxxx@server2>xauth xauth: file /home/userxxx/.Xauthority does not exist
I'm getting openbox up and running on squeeze. I performed a netinstall and did a simple apt-get openboxI need to modify a file called ~/.xinitrc, but it does not exist. I read that I can copy one over from /var/x11r6/lib/xinitrc, but the /x11r6/ directory doesn't exist either. I've installed xorg, but the directory still eludes me. A package search yields nothing useful. I am using the SLiM display/login manager, which I believe calls startx, which should theoretically generate the ~/.xinitrc file.
Every time I try to empty the waste bin I get dolphin error - 'The file or folder /.local/share/Trash/files/IMGP1676.DNG does not exist'I tried to recreate the file 'IMGP1676.DNG' , deleted it i.e. sent i to the waste bin and then tried the empty waste bin again, although this time it was there and deleted it still reported the same error.du -h .local/share/Trash/files/ 12K .local/share/Trash/files
Have Apache running on Ubuntu Server. Say I have a domain, www.somewhere.com, and I have uploaded a file, phpinfo.php. If I hit http://www.somewhere.com/phpinfo.php, I get my file as expected. However, If I hit non-existent file http://www.somewhere.com/phpinfo/somefile.dat, it also acts as if I hit phpinfo.php, instead of giving me a 404 error. It seems that because the DIRECTORY "phpinfo" does not exist, it decided that I must have meant to hit phpinfo.php at the root of the site.
If I create an empty "phpinfo" directory then it behaves as expected and gives me a 404 not found page. This is reproducible for any other file name you can think of. I'm sure this is some Apache convenience behavior but I would like to disable it (it is messing with some mod_rewrite stuff I would like to do). Because it's hard to describe I cannot figure out which Apache option it might be (whatever I Google for gives me completely unrelated results).
I'm trying to use scp to get a file from my desktop onto the server for my school. I'm connected via VPN and using PuTTy to try to do this. I've tried every single combination/permutation/help site on the web that I can think of and I still can't get this thing working. This is what I get:
[palermo@matrix hw2]$ scp synoptic.data palermo@matrix:/rhome/palermo/ats652/hw2 palermo@matrix's password: synoptic.data: No such file or directory
Yet the file sits, in all it's glory, on my desktop. What have I missed here? This is for a homework due next week, so the urgency is kind of on.
I've just checked my apache error log and it's filled with this: Code: [error] [client 127.0.0.1] File does not exist: /srv/www/htdocs/announce Every 8 minutes or so.
I'm running rTorrent as daemon on same machine, and I suspect it's trying to access something like http://localhost/announce. But that's just my guess, is it some misconfiguration of rTorrent, and how do I fix that? Or should I just ignore all those errors.
I installed debian 7 and apache 2.2 with virtualhosts. I'd like to run CGI, but always get internal server error. i tested it with a simple test.cgi file.I got this in apache error log.Wed Sep 30 21:39:02 2015] [error] [client 192.168.0.156] Premature end of script headers: test.cgi
When is switch off "Addhandler cgi-script .cgi" in the config file i see the code. Permissions are 755 on the whole directory. I have checked a2enmod, the modul is loaded (sudo a2enmod cgi)..here are the part of config files :
I am sure this information is out there somewhere, but Googling apache access.log and hostname does not give you any good leads... so I hope someone here might be able to provide me with a quick answer...I am setting up a cluster of web servers, so I would like to name the access.log and error.log with the hostname of the individual servers to be able to distinguish one from another.
I want to create a logon script (or somesuch) that creates a file (if it doesn't already exist) and checks the file for some info otherwise. If it finds a given trigger in that file, it logs into a local database and does some operations.
Now my problem isn't with creating that file or even getting it to function as a logon script -- it's with permissions. After the logon script creates the file, I want that user to have read access on it ONLY. Further, I don't want to give the user any kind of root access so that they could do the database operations in question or chown/chmod the file.
What's the best practice here? I'm noticing that whenever the script runs (in .bashrc right now) the script runs with the current user's permissions. Ideally, I'd like to make it so the login script can run at a higher level of permissions, (higher than the user has). Is this even possible? What's the best way to do this?
I have a backup of /oracle in redhat linux advance server 2.1,i have taken that backup by tar -cvzf command when untar this backup by tar -xvzf command the following error occurred-"Error exist delayed from previous error"
Tried running simdock from software center...uninstalled because I was getting this error after trying to run ap "Can't load image from file '/usr/share/firefox/icons/mozicon128.png': file does not exist."

Our server's been running smoothly before but i dunno what happened. I can send mails to gmail and yahoo as well... but there are like 3 domains which we cannot send mails to.
From what I can figure out, grub can not figure out which disk has my root file system. I checked the partition labels and they match the UUID that are in my fstab.
I have Apache/2.2.14 (Ubuntu) DAV/2 SVN/1.6.6 mod_fcgid/2.3.4 Phusion_Passenger/2.2.14 PHP/5.2.10-2ubuntu6 with Suhosin-Patch configured In UBUNTU 10.04 I like to install apache2 mod_perl I make apt-get install libapache2-mod-perl2 and I get: Quote: libapache2-mod-perl2 is already the newest version.

I am running Ubuntu 10.04 x86 64 bit Desktop.I want to accomplish setting up a virtual host environment for education reasons. How may I accomplish this? So far I am going by this following guide: URL... But when I get to the part of entering the command in the terminal "a2enmod fcgid" I get the following error: "ERROR: Module fcgid does not exist" I've been pulling my hair and spent a ton of time trying out how to set up suexec and virtual hosting .
Plan to use GRUB for multiple booting to select the OS but only with luck have I got it partially to work. Windows 98 and Puppy 431 O.K on first HDD but Puppy 421 on second HDD /dev/sdb1 stops at error 21.
I've downloaded Ubuntu 8.10 and I have installed it within ms windows. My first problem was when I went to boot Ubuntu and the graphics weren't right so I rebooted it with a different graphic configuration and it installed successfully. When I went to boot Ubuntu a second time to actually use it I got the following error: ALERT! /host/ubuntu/disks/root.disk does not exist. Dropping to a shell! BusyBox v1.10.2 (Ubuntu 1:1.10.2-1ubuntu6) built-in shell (ash)
I got a problem with my Slackware installation after upgrading to slackware-current. I made a clean 13.1 install on my laptop, then I logged in as root, connected to the net and upgraded to slackware-current. Then, after rebooting, I try to log in to kde as root but I get this error: Code: kdestartupconfig4 does not exist or fails. The error code is 127. Check your installation. After getting these errors, I made a completely new fresh installation but I got the same errors again.
I even added another user with the adduser command just in case that was the problem but that didn't help. I can't log in to KDE.
i was assigned with a project to analyse the performance of ASSP mail filter engine.I am using Fedora 7 with KDE3.5. I need to install a lot of perl modules to run the assp.pl code.I was trying with all sorts of packages like src.rpm, ixxx.rpm, tar.gz, tar.bz2. All these packages doesnt work exactly. When i tried with rpm packages. I am getting this error.
/* [root@localhost RPMs]# rpm -ivh cyrus-sasl-2.1.23-9.fc12.src.rpm warning: cyrus-sasl-2.1.23-9.fc12.src.rpm: Header V3 RSA/SHA256 signature: NOKEY, key ID 57bbccba 1:cyrus-sasl warning: user mockbuild does not exist - using root
[code]....
So i checked for config.h file as given the directory but it was missing.I don't know why?
