OpenSUSE :: CinePaint Crashes - Load A Jpg For Edit Or Try To Create A New Picture
Aug 19, 2011
I am running 11_4, KDE4.7 I loaded CinePaint cinepaint-0.25-3.10.x86_64.rpm from the multimedia:color_management/openSUSE_11.4 repo. It opens, but crashes if I try to load a jpg for edit or try to create a new picture.
after about 30 min of trying to get the cinepaint-0.22-1.tar.gz to build on 11.3 64 bit i figured i would do some searching took about 15 min but new suse users won't have to figure out the posting in the suse forum archive ( 2007) Up-to-date Rpm For Cinepaint?
there IS a cinepaint for 11.3 add the repo Index of /repositories/home:/bekun/openSUSE_11.3 into yast / Software Repositories
When I hover over an open programme which is on the task bar I get a pop up, but instead of a picture of the actually programme I get a grey box like this
I have two kinda weird problems that have been preventing me from wasting my time!
1. I can go to a flickr page and see the first picture fine. When I use the browse buttons and/or try and change to another picture, firefox crashes.
2. When viewing pictures in facebook (the only reason I use it is to share pictures with my far-off family who doesn't get to see my kids often) the pictures are very badly pixelated.
I'm using an Acer Aspire laptop (Intel 915 graphics, celeron processor, 1.5GB ram) with a completely up to date Fedora 12 installation. The weird part is, my wife's netbook, (1GB ram, Intel 945 graphics) with Fedora 12, displays everything fine. I'm cometely stumped how one machine is having such issues while another isn't. This problem existed in F10 when I used up until the F12 release so I'm presuming it is a graphics card problem (???) since the software and OS has changed.Does anyone know what might be going on or how I can check?
So I've been trying to find a program to edit grub ,so that I'll be able to add a picture behind the letters add new lines, and change the name of the menus. I know in Backtrack that I used a program,I don't really remember which one it was,I think KGrubEditor, but that is a KDE app,and I cannot find a place where I could download it anyway. Do you guys know any alternative,or any way I could do this? I know how to edit grub.cfg, but I want some features besides that.
Whenever I used "Ctrl+S", "Ctrl+O", or any other keyboard command that opens a KDE FileDialog, OpenOffice crashes every time. OpenOffice produces the dialog closes it and produces another two and then crashes. This happens from every OpenOffice program. Running OpenOffice from the terminal, the error that it outputs is "Failed to Create XIC".If I just access the same commands using the mouse such as Clicking "Save As", "Open", or any other command that opens a KDE FileDialog OpenOffice does not crash. The error is very similar to that of "http://web.archiveorange.com/archive/v/wmeLD7sxJO78TtWLhIm8".OpenOffice 3.2.1scim 1.4.7-174.1KDE 4.4.4openSUSE 11.3 64-bit
bug with nautilus 2.26.3? It seems to be an issue on the gnome side rather than on Fedora's side because a Debian bug report has pretty much the same error that I'm getting.
Whenever i see a thread about 2d animation, i see cinepaint mentioned at least once. But the last time i used cinepaint, all i remember being able to do is .. paint and edit images. So is it a paint program? or an animation program? Also, I often see it advertised as something to touch up movies. Does that mean i can edit videos frame by frame?
i had just edited a picture in digikam that was going to be my new desktop wallpaper.when i went into system/preferences/appearance to make the new change it would not show the new picture that i had just edited as a choice to change my new wallpaper to. then i tried closing the appearance box and it would not close.then i shut down and restarted and when i bring up the appearance box it does not let me click on anything within.also can't close it.seems like other applications are working normally.
So, after the last Update, my PC crashes when trying to load Xserver. I can boot in the "recovery mode" from grub and then choose "resume" from the menu. This takes me to tty1. From there if I try to startx my computer crashes again and I'm left with a black screen with no hints as to what went wrong. I even tried
Code:
But the file stays empty because apparently my computer hangs before it has the chance to write anything to it.
Finally, I went to the /etc/X11 directory and searched for any xorg.conf backup files. I only found a xorg.conf.fglrx-0 which I renamed to xorg.conf and tried to load xserver again with the exact same result.
Ever since i found out that there was something called cinepaint i've tried to install it. On their website it says that the debian version currently isn't stable, and therefore not released. I've tried their own CVS file, and costum files. Nothing so far works.
Last night I rebooted after installing all updates. I can now no longer start evolution at all. It fails with a signal 11, not providing any more This is obviously a particularly vexing problem for me, as I can't get to my email at all. I am using the exchange-connector, if that is relevant. I can access my Exchange server via web interface. If I start from the command line, here are the generated error messages:
10.04 looked nice when I saw screens of it. ok I have netbook remix on here and when I upgraded this evening... >: ( Ok.. this is lovely. :3 I have only one panel and I cannot edit it or even create another. Those options are disabled
I had some problems upgrading from 10.4 to 10.10, and I had to select the "safe mode" equivalent option in the grub loader to boot, or else my system would hang at the screen with the dots before the login prompt. I restored the packages and now my system works. I am not sure if this is relevant to my problem.
K9Copy worked fine prior to upgrading to 10.10, now it crashes as soon as I load it. I have searched but found nothing relevant to my problem.
I upgraded my laptop from 10.10 to 11.04 yesterday. On the reboot part of the installation and on all subsequent boots, the loader gets as far as the initial Ubuntu splash screen before switching to verbose mode and dying in interesting ways.
If I boot using wireless, the display flashes six times, then sometimes hangs around before reporting: iwlagn 0000:08:00.0: Aggregation not enabled for tid 0 because load = 4 (this number can be anything from 0 to 10)
If I boot using a network connection, I get the same splash screen and six flashes before the system hands, usually at the message: Stopping userspace bootslash [OK]
I am not keen on reinstalling from CD except as a last resort as I have a number of files that I do not want wiped.
I've decided that any music CDs that are destined to be copied to my computer will be copied as flac files due to the superior sound quality. However, I now have a Question:
Since I've no idea what program to use in Arch Linux to create or edit the existing tags, assuming there are any, for these flac files, program for Arch Linux that can accomplish this task?
I am not command line ignorant, so CL is fine too. However, I would prefer a program with good documentation as I've never done this before. I am very new to the media game.
I googled but most of the info is devoted to mp3 or mp4. That which pertained to flac lacked useful "how to" info, ditto forums.
Does anyone have a solution that actually works for creating video DVDs from beginning to end? My requirements are pretty simple, I would think. I need to take video from an NTSC DVD (which I made from 8mm analog tape), edit it, create a menu, and burn it. It doesn't have to be fancy. It just has to work. The total project is a little over 1 hour of video. I have reasonable computer power for this.
That doesn't seem like such a difficult task, but it actually requires using up to four different mutually incompatible programs, each of which has nearly infinite options, a huge number of intermediate file types, and infinite ways to fail. If there are intermediate files to be written, I need to know EXACTLY what files and formats to use, and what packages must be installed to use those formats. I don't care if the programs are KDE or Gnome (even a command line might work if the procedure is clear-cut).
The task consists of four parts: * Rip or import an ordinary video from DVD. (This was made by a hardware DVD recorder). * Edit videos. Create clips, cut, past, move, fade.
I am using RHEL 4.7 (32bit) on HP Proliant 380G6 series server. We are using Electric Cloud Agents on these servers. Nowadays we are facing some memory issues and its creates some kernel panic and then restarts the server. When i reported the issue to my application team, they asked me to come with the core dump. I googled it enough, then i set ulimit value as unlimited. (previously it was 0, then i made a entry in /etc/profile file as follows ulimit -c unlimited) But still whenever my server restarts due to that kernel panic, it couldnt generate the core dump. My application was installed on /opt
can i actually edit /etc/sysconfig/iptables and create/delete rules inside that file?will it work? i just find using the IPTABLES -A or -D command a hassle
I got a digital picture key chain and it comes with windows software. I plugged it in and it's detected as a read only usb storage, so I can't upload any pictures in it
When I open Dolphin to view my pictures all the icons are that of a "hot air balloon". How can I change these to show the actual picture of the file like M$ does?
I've got an Olympus 256MB xD picture card that I would like to have mounted on my SuSE. In windows, a few seconds after putting it into the slot on my Toshiba laptop, it is mounted as a drive. In my OpenSuSE 11.3 (KDE 4.4.4), nothing happens. Is there some software that I can get or some setting I have to tweak in order for it to be mounted?
I have the 64bit version of SuSe 11.2 installed on my PC. For some reason it cannot read a Jessops photo cd which reads ok on a windows pc or any other cd with photos on it, it has no problem reading other cds with program files on them.
I am running Opensuse 11.3, KDE 64 bit. I have a nvidia GeForce 9400 GT graphic card.Somehow Dolphin and Firefox cannot show picture preview. It comes out like this; ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing.
