I'm using openSUSE 11.2 x86_64 and I've installed OpenOffice.org 3.2.0 from Index of /repositories/OpenOffice.org:/STABLE/openSUSE_11.2 . However, the menu option Tools->Macros->Record Macro is missing (it is present in the official build of OpenOffice.org for windows and the one distributed in archlinux). Is this a bug? I've searched the Novell bugzilla for resolved and open bugs for this, but I've found nothing.

But I cannot virtual machine this, because it would need to raise up a ms windows explorer, something that cannot be done in a virtual machine on guest OS.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a free image stacking application in Linux. I do a lot of macro work and I even use stacking for larger pieces of work as well. It allows me to create a better, larger DOF than you would normally get with a Macro lens, which tends to be shallow. If you have never heard of stacking images it is like stitching images together for a panorama image. Only this works by selecting the sharpest parts of the image. The images are stacked up on top of eachother, the software selects the sharpest parts of each image and the joins them all up making your object hopefully sharper. You need a tripod to do this work.

In Windows and Ubuntu, OpenOffice.org (2.4 and 3), there is an auto replace tab available at Tools > AutoCorrect. That is what automatically fixes spelling mistakes like teh, and lets me set my own codes for replacements I need to use. In Fedora, this tab is missing. Anyone know how I can get it back?

Its doesn't effect all, but for example in the Writer, the only drop down menu at the top being render correctly is "Table". code...
All the buttons/sub buttons still work if you can guess where their pointing!
The only way I can seem to solve it is to remove "openoffice.org-gnome" & "openoffice.org-gtk" package.
Ive tried a complete reinstall already. Its usable without the above gnome and gtk extras but obviously not as nice to look at.
Im sure it was working fine the last time I used it?
I'm trying to print a spreadsheet from Openoffice 3.0.1 (Xubuntu 9.04), I'd like to use the A3 pagesize but the Print dialog shows only A4 and Letter.. Other applications work fine.
The printer is a Ricoh Aficio MPC2000.
In Slackware 13.1, my OpenOffice menu buttons did not appear after installing the Slackbuild from slackbuild.org. I think this is a common issue. After reading around, I putCode:export OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=kdeinto my /etc/profile. OpenOffice now opens fine and all the menu button icons are present and correct but this only happens if I start OO from the CLI. I've installed skype, and the mic volume is too low. If i talk very loudly, I can hear my voice, but it's very faint. The ext mic boost/capture level in KMix is set to about 80%.

Now, how do I duplicate same setup in Suse (to avoid switching plugs) ? I am a bit lost in where to specify hardware to be used for recording and playback.
I created a live USB stick following the instructions at [URL] installing openSUSE-11.2-KDE4-LiveCD-x86_64-iso and booting a Motion LE1700. openSUSE works great but any file I create is lost after I reboot. I created the second partition with the script listed the instructions. Is there any anything else to do to make the live system mount the second partition?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got sound - I hear all the system sounds, I can play sound files, CDs, etc. But I have not been able to record and play back anything with success.
Originally, when I would record (either with arecord or with audacity) I would get extremely low quality sound, with lots of noise and crackling, and my recorded voice was barely audible (even with volume turned up to max). I played with alsamixer for hours without being able to improve matters.
Things are worse now. I tried installing alsa-firmware, as indicated at SDB:Audio troubleshooting - openSUSE. I also tried updating alsa following instructions given at SDB:Alsa-update - openSUSE. I'm not sure which of these changes did it, but the result is that I can no longer record ANYTHING at all. I get absolutely nothing, not even the low quality noise and crackling I was getting before. It's as if there is no audio input at all.
Uninstalling alsa-firmware and reverting back to the older alsa version (1.0.20) didn't change a thing.
I'm running openSUSE 11.2, kernel 2.6.31.14-0.6-desktop, alsa 1.0.20. My sound card is a Creative X-Fi (by the way, yast cannot detect my card, another problem I have never solved).
I use openSUSE 11.1 and have OpenOffice 3.0.
I see the latest version of OpenOffice 3.2 is ready. How can we get it and install it? I having been looking for a repository, but to no avail.
I use AutoHotKey for Windows and I'm trying to find an equivalent for Ubuntu Lucid that allows me to control the mouse movements and to invoke mouse button presses by using a keyboard hotkey. I found AutoKey, but it isn't very intuitive (I'm still a Ubuntu Newbie).
