General :: Phpmyadmin Directory Missing?

After all many times I've read the on line tutorial and How To Install PHPMyAdmin the result is always the same.I recently installed CentOS 5.5 and finished installing via yum the httpd, Mysql and PHP and have it run smoothlyBut when I've tried to download the phpMyAdmin-2.11.11-english.tar.gz.gz and untar it in /var/www/html no phpmyadmin directory in there. I am really confused becase based on the online how to's after I untar it I should move the decompressed file to phpmyadmin directory

problem installing phpMyAdmin on CentOS 5 I believe i did install phpMyAdmin Correctly I can even see it in the directory in usr/share/phpmyadmin I also setup the blowfish password and i also change the [auth] cookies to html. and i allow 127.0.0.1 to access it But when i type [URL] it replies no such file or directory. I've just installed phpmyadmin on my ubuntu home server. When I go to the http://(myip)/myphpadmin the logon screen shows up. I put in my root username peter and the password that I use for mysql which I also used when I setup phpmyadmin. I get an error message: "#1045 - Access denied for user 'Peter'@'localhost' (using password: YES)"Do I need to add something to a config file somewhere?

I've just installed phpmyadmin on my bioLinux. When the logo screen shows http://localhost/phpmyadmin, and I try to log in it appears: #1045 Cannot log in to the MySQL server.
I've tried all possibilities. I install and reinstall it with the Synaptic Package manager, with and without password (using 'root' as username).

I have updated my php from version 5.3.2 to version 5.3.3 on Centos OS. And after updating, when click to phpmyadmin-URL, it displays a blank page. I tried updating phpmyadmin to latest version, it still doesn't display phpmyadmin page. And when I clicked to [url], it downloaded automatically the file.

I just finished setting up a default Linux EC2 instance and would like to install PHPMyAdmin. I already have Apache and MySQL installed but cannot seem to install PHPMyAdmin. I tried using
sudo apt-get phpmyadmin but the command apt-get is not recognized.
I also tried sudo yum install phpmyadmin but that I get the message No package phpmyadmin available.

I'm totally new to MySQL / PHPAdmin and have been dropped in at the deep end regarding getting MySQL and phpMyAdmin upgraded... When I look at the RPM's I see:
php-mysql-4.2.2-17.2
php-4.2.2-17.2
php-imap-4.2.2-17.2
php-ldap-4.2.2-17.2
But when I go to the GUI I see: Welcome to phpMyAdmin 2.5.7-pl1 MySQL 4.0.16-standard-log running on localhost as root@localhost So to start with I'm not totally sure what version I'm running! I need to get these upgrades done due to PCI requirements so they are saying to upgrade to at least 4.0.25 I'm currently running RedHat9 so ideally need to know the easiest way to upgrade to a later 4.0 or 4.1 version.

Looks like somewhere down the line the pmda's for pcp fell out of the distro? The pmcd config (in /var/lib/pcp/config/pmcd/pmcd.conf) shows that pmcd expects 2 pmda's.

Supposedly, the person who used to manage the server set up an admin account before they left, but when I try to log in to it I get the error:Your home directory is listed as:'/home/username'but it does not appear to exist. Do you want to log in with the / (root) directory as your home directory?It is unlikely anything will work unless you use a failsafe session. I've browsed a couple other topics with similar problems and tried some of what was suggested, but I haven't gotten anywhere.

I am somewhat new to linux, and fedora especially, I'm currently trying to get a linux based active directory server build in my home. I've tried using samba, dhcpd and the bind9 service but it wasn't wanting to work, so I did some searching and found 389ds on the fedora projects page. Now I'm having issues setting up the directory here's the log.

Ubuntu 10.04 Beta - I recently upgraded from 9.10. I have for some time been using an IOMEGA External drive, storing files created using Open Office. After I upgraded I continued to use those files and open them in OpenOffice 3.2. Yesterday I opened the drive to work on the files and the entire directory is missing. All the other directories seem to be there. Bizarre.
Have tried using "locate" in the console, but the files are nowhere to be found. I tried accessing the permissions on the external drive but get the response "The permissions of IOMEGA HDD could not be determined". Using a dual boot system with Windows Vista, booting through Grub.

I am trying to find the ip address on my Red Hat Linux box, but there is no ipconfig file in my /sbin/ directory. I did a 'locate ipconfig' in the terminal and the only files I got were plipconfig, sipconfig.py/c/o, plipconfig.8.gz, ipconfig.h. I dont know what happened to my ipconfig file. Where I can get a new copy of it?

I can access my NAS box with telnet but the file I am looking for is not in the expected directory. Of course I could go through all the directories using ls -a but that would take days. Is there a command I can run to look for the file for me using the telnet console?

Well, I am facing problem when doing lab questions.
I must use DLXLinux bundled in Bochs (bochs.sourceforge.net).
I am required to use the /usr/local directory.
In /usr directory, there is no directory named 'local' but there is one thing called 'local@'. So, when I try to use mkdir command to create 'local' directory in /usr , there are error "cannot make directory.....".

I want to run a cronjob every 15 minutes that checks a directory for files. If the directory contains more than ten files I want it to send an email to me.
All I have is this...

I would rather not write a bash script. Is there an easier way to do this? I was looking into some commands like find and grep.

I'm quite new to linux but I have configured a simple ftp server and it's working great. I have a FTP-Shared folder with upload and download subfolders. Under upload's and download's I have identical category subfolders like mp3's, movies, software etc. in both. As the guy's upload, I would like to create a line crontab where I can move all the content under /FTP-Shared/upload/mp3/* older than 14 day's to FTP-Shared/downloads/mp3/ recursively (Like in cp command), but the timestamp must be searched on the first directory and not sub files example: /mp3/Club Dance/CD1/Hallo world.mp3This is how far I got:[root@clients ~]# /usr/bin/find /FTP_Shared/upload/Mp3s/ -depth -mindepth 1 -mtime +14 -type d -exec mv -f {} /FTP_Shared/download/Mp3s/ ;This command moves the directory and files, but it is not recursively

I'd like to mount the directory /var/www/mysite to the directory /home/daniel/mysite, but also have the user of the mounted files mapped from the original user (www-data) to my own user (daniel). So that the file /var/www/mysite/index.php who's user is www-data will appear in the mounted directory as /home/daniel/mysite/index.php and be owned by daniel - and alternatively, if I create a file /home/daniel/mysite/test.php with my own user, it will be created in the original directory under the user www-data Is it possible? If not, what alternatives do I have so I can use an IDE and still make sure all the files belong to the HTTP server's user?
