General :: Finding Website Links In HTML Files?

May 29, 2010

I have a website that has a massive list of royalty free stock photos and I want to download all of them. I have bought a membership for [URL] so I am able to download as much as I want from them for the next month.

Instead of going page by page and manually downloading each set of stock photos manually, I would like to automate this process. Here's my idea:

1. Download the website with the links to hotfile [URL]

2. Use grep to retrieve all the links to [URL]

3. Feed the links I recieve from grep into wget and download the works of them.

The problem I'm getting is when I use grep, It retrieves the entire line of html code where "hotfile.com" is shown. So here is an example of one link I receive in the output:

Quote:

./1776-santa-claus-vector-set.html:<div align="center"><a href="http://hotfile.com/dl/18418176/181a55b/Santa_Claus_Vector_Set.rar.html" target="_blank">HotFile</a></div>

Is there a way to just have the link shown in the output?

PS: I have everything else working, I just need an automated process of getting all the links.

Software :: Finding A Php Script To Format And Display A Select Amount Of Text From A File?

Jan 23, 2009

i need a php script to format and display a select amount of text from a file or a cron job that'll do it (with grep etc) and out put to a file but whatever is easier i want to display all the banned ip's i have in my .htaccess file i have a lot of lines in my .htaccess file but i have a line that read like this:

Code:

RewriteCond %{REMOTE_ADDR} (123.123.123.123|123.123.123.123|123.123.123.123)$

the 3 test ip's are 123.123.123.123 and i want the "" stripping and the "|" removing and each ip to be on it's own line like this:

123.123.123.123
123.123.123.123
123.123.123.123

i'm not bothered if this is a php script that'll read the .htaccess file and display the output or a cron job that'll run every x mins and output it to a .txt file but i'd prefer a php script

Ubuntu :: Finding A Html And Php Editor

Apr 9, 2011

I am learning to do some html, php and css. I read that a normal word processor will not do. Here is what I am suppsed to use... Before you settle on a text editor, make sure it has the following features: Supports syntax highlighting for HTML, CSS, Javascript and PHP. you to code and debug faster by visually separating the different elements of the file. For example, such a text editor might highlight PHP code in blue and HTML code in red. Automatic error highlighting for HTML, CSS, Javascript and PHP. you catch errors in your programs while you are writing your code before these errors are detected when you run your program in Zen Cart. For example, if you fail to specify a closing tag for your HTML code, the editor uses a red underline to highlight the offending HTML tag.

General :: Emulator (Project64) - Display Size 800X600

Apr 26, 2011

So I installed Project64 (For those who don't know it is a Nintendo 64 emulation program so I can get my Mario fix), Which I always read is hard to put on a Linux. I didn't think I had WINE so I ran $ whereis wine and I guess I do. But I never set a config for it, So I don't get how an install through wine would work. How was the .exe read?, Because I thought wine had to run to read those, and I don't think it ran. At least there was no visible sign when I installed.

||-2nd part-||

I got my Project64.exe, put it in a directory I made, did the $ ch commands to change permission , did $cd <dir> then I ran ./Directory:$ Project.64.exe 'gamefile.z64' and it seems to work fine. Except for it leaves the display as 800X600 after I close it. Why is it changing display size, and not returning to my default and can I make it stop doing it?

General :: Virtualized Screen Resolution - Use A Larger Size Display That Is Configured By Default

Apr 18, 2010

I have a 64 bit Ubuntu 9.10 workstation with two virtualized guest OSes using KVM/QEMU. Also both 64-bit. One is Fedora 12 the other is beta of Ubuntu 10.04.

The problem is that I would like to use a larger size display that is configured by default.

Both guest OSes have a maximum screen resolution of 1024x768. I would like to increase this to something like 1280x900 or 1440x900. The resolution of the host system is 1920x1080.

This configuration appears to be a result of the installation detecting the resolution being reported by the virtual screen during installation.

The only information I have found on the subject suggests modifying the xorg.conf file in the /etc/X11 directory. Neither guest system has this file.

I tried creating one by hand in the Fedora system and managed to render it completely unusable. Not a big deal as this is recently installed and can be reinstalled easily.

General :: File Still Unwriteable In /var/www/html After The Chmod Command

Jun 17, 2011

I've got some trouble while trying to install some applications on my linux system. It is said that the files in my /var/www/html/xxx directory, where I put them, is not writeable. The command chmod 777 xxx has been tried to make it work, but the error remains when I opened the applications again.

To be specific, I want to install phpFreeChat on my system, so I put those files in the /var/www/html/freechat directory, cd there and typed chmod 777 data/private, chmod 777 data/public on bash. Here's the result of list -al data:

drwxr-xr-x. 4 root root 4096 Jun 17 15:07 .

drwxrwxrwx. 2 root root 4096 Jun 17 15:07 private
drwxrwxrwx. 3 root root 4096 Jun 17 15:07 public

These all seemed all right to me, until I typed http://localhost/freechat in my browser. Here's the result:

General :: Limit On File Size - Doesn't Allow User To Create File Which Are Greater Than 100Kb

Jun 13, 2011

I was just testing specifying limit on file size to a user and have added the following to /etc/security/limits.conf bob soft fsize 100 This basically should have said not to allow bob to create anyfile greater than 100Kb in size.

But the interesting thing is, if bob already has any file which is greater than 100Kb in size, it even doesn't allow to log him into the system both from console and SSH. Also nothing is logged in logs.. How do I configure it so that, bob can login to the system even though he has any file greater than 100Kb (but doesn't allow him to create file which are greater than 100Kb) ??

General :: Using Lynx To Create Html Page With The File Structure Of A Local Directory

Oct 10, 2010

I'm working with a dual-boot laptop running Ubuntu 10.0/Windows 7 and a Debian 5 VPS while the OS's shouldn't have much impact on my question.

What I would like to do is create a html page that I can upload to my VPS which lists all of the files/folders on my local 2TB hard drive (Specifically media such as Movies, Music, TV Shows...). The media obviously will not reside on the server, but I would like to at least have a list which will allow me to select, for instance, a bands artist so that it redirects me to the albums in the directory below.

Ultimately, I'm looking for Open Directory Browsing without actually having the media on my server. I have been attempting to create something to this effect using lynx, however, I'm not sure if it can be done with this command or if it's even possible for that matter.

General :: Command "ls" Display The Directory Size Of ZERO ?

Jun 3, 2010

I have learned Linux for a while now, but Linux is continuously surprising me with new stuffs nearly every day... Today I met a really strange problem, that the command "ls" indicates the size of some directories is ZERO, as for /home.

However, there is a directory inside /home, which contains many files/directories.

Even worst, when I tried to create a file under /home, I got the "permission denied" error,

By the way, /home is within the local file system, not NFS share.
