I would like to print a PDF so that on the front of the first page are the first two pages, on the back the 3rd and 4th and so on. code...
Because my printer using Linux fails to support manual duplex printing I'd thought, maybe I could edit the pdf in a according way.
But how?
To convert web-pages into PDF file in ubuntu 10.10 is very easy way. just press Ctrl and P and you will see a new box called Print. In that you will see Print to file in printer section. Now just press Print to file now you can see Name box and Output Formate first you have select (.) PDF and and now you move to Name place and give and name to that file Exp:- xxx.pdf and now go to save in folder: place just press it to change to save on desktop. And press Print box. After pressing print box it will convert the information in PDF formate In the second way you have to go file --> print --> it will open print box as mention in above you have to convert the information into PDF format In the third way you have to go file --> print preview --> it will open a new box called Ubuntu homepage| Ubuntu - Mozilla Fire fox in that you just press Print box and it will open print box and do same as mention in first part it will convert web page into PDF format.

But is it possible to have it rip them to one JPG, so that the pages are pasted below each other, e.g. the top half of the JPG is page 1, the bottom half is page 2? Or do I have to use another program (and can ImageMagick do this?) to combine the JPG pages into one image?

I am not able to open excel file which is generated from java web application in Linux. The file is opening in Windows but not in Linux. I am not using Open Office. I have two different applications deployed in two different was7 servers in same Linux machine. Both the applications generate excel output stream which I open in IE. When I am trying the same application in Windows environment both are working fine, but in Linux I can open and download xls files in one application but not in other. I am using application/vnd-ms... as mime type and POI jars to generated excel, no errors in my debug log or system errors.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI run Ubuntu 10.10 now and was surprised when I couldn't find Kivio which I use for simple charts for work. I now know that's it's no longer supported and so decided to try Dia as it's more of a native app' anyway, so here's the problem..The page setup dialog has a page size of A4 but it appears that this only relates to one of the (for want of a better term) cell sections on the sheet, I found this out after (stupidly) creating a diagram that spanned a few of these cells and being surprised when my printer started spitting out sheet after sheet of diagram bits!
So can someone help me out and tell me how to setup Dia up so that what I can see on screen is what I'll get when I print, If I try to stay in one cell section it looks daft to work on and is far too small as well.An explanation of what the actual thinking and benefit behind the current layout is would also be appreciated, I'm sure it's great for some people but I just want to do a few flow charts!
My F12 is connected to a Xerox DC432 printer on the network. The problem I'm facing is that banner sheet cannot be disable. The configuration setting on Administration->Printing showed that banner is off by default. "/etc/cups/printers.conf" file also have "JobSheets none none". I had the same problem with F11. Is there any step I'm missing? It doesn't seem to be problem of the printer itself because I could do this on a Windows OS.

Is that one recent enough, have the basic commands stayed the same? I know I tried tweaking grub 2 and was in a whole new world from the grub i tweaked a few years ago (I know were not talking the same thing from boot loader to os, but it seems there would have been slight changes at least since 2007).

I'm mainly interested in starting from FLV files, but i guess the solution will probably work for other formats with appropriate codecs etc. So, for example, if i have a 30 minute video, every 2 minutes through it i'd like it to generate a thumbnail and then put 15 of these in a 5 x 3 grid in a single jpg. On Windows,Media Player Classic Homecinem will do this through its ave Thumbnails command.
Ideally i'd like to do this from the command line/script in a debian server environment, rather than a desktop GUI. It doesn't have to be a single command, if a chain of steps could do it.

Is there a way of getting the odd numbered pages out first (then a pause?) and the even numbered pages after? To do this manually is tedious on a long (14 page) doc. View 4 Replies View RelatedOn FC11 64 bit with Adobe flash plugin for Linux installed, I see segfault errors from "npviewer" in /var/log/messages. The only browser I have tried yet, Firefox, has glitches every now and then. Sometimes it shows the title of a page in a tab, but the page is blank. This can even happen when I try the Google main page. Is it true that npviewer has something to do with Adobe flash? Is there a way to fix the problem? If it is caused by Adobe flash, is there a different plugin that will replace Adobe flash player?
View 1 Replies View Relatedi am able to try ubuntu and everything works fine until i try to install. the menu comes up to the first page where it tells you to plug in your machine and make sure there is enough disk space and network connectivity. when i hit next on this page the mouse icon changes but the next page never loads. the longest i let it hang there was 2 hours. ive tried multiple times with the same result.

I have a problem printing to my HP printer.
What is my problem? I have a page (one page - text an graphic) to print. When I sent it to my printer it prints OK. When I sent it agian, the output is totally garbled. When I sent it again (a third time) it is OK. Sent it again (4th time) it is garbled. Sent it again ... you get the picture ;-). Alternating good and bad pages.
What is my setup? I run Fedora 14 with Cups 1.4.6. The printer is a HP Deskjet 940C. It is connected to a linksys wireless print server. It is configured in CUPS to use ipp printing. The driver I use in Cups is 'CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.6 Simplified (color, 2-sided printing)'.
I used to use notation player to do this in windows, although it works under wine i don't have the ability to print or print as a pdf file so i was wondering if theres a good alternative
