This error exist if I try to install this application with root access. What I mast do for fix this error?
P.S. I have Fedora 12 x86_64 on my notebook ASUS M51Sn.
I have my ubuntu comp setup as a media server and works fine with mythtv etc but I also want to access the files from my computers in the other rooms (most have windows 7). I was able to share the file containing the videos easy enough by right clicking the file and checking all of the sharing options the first time. I have been able to access all the files that i originally put in the folder and stream video to my other computers without issue.
However any new files I add to the folders I am now unable to access. The files show up but when I click on them it says I don't have permission. I have tried unsharing the folder and redoing it but I come to the same issue. I am sure I am just forgetting an easy step but I can't think of what that is. Also want to make sure that any new files I add to this folder will work instantly across the network.

Using NFS on the client machine. I am running scientific linux on my machine. Its working fine for my other machines.I have made sure that the firewall is disabled and also the selinux too. here is what i get when i use rpcinfo -p on the client.

I Have installed fedora 14 on my PC and had set up LAN when i tries to connect linux using ssh connection i am able to conect it but when i tries tonnect from outside my network(Say from my office or from netcafe) i was not able to connect. i was not even able to ping my server but after some investigation i found that smb server configuration and ssh_config changes now i am able to ping my server. but when i tried to connect using Putty it is accepting user but when i enter right password it says access denied

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have set up RHEL 5 file server with Winbind and samba services running.I am able to assign and authenticate windows XP users against my RHEL 5 server.No issues.But one or two of my users are using Windows 7 Ultimate edition and they are not able to access my network samba shares.I can view the shares in windows 7 box but trying to access gives me "network access denied error".But i can access the same share in Windows xp machine for the above tested users.Working great but not in windows 7 box.I haven't tested with Vista OS yet.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem with my webdav share. I have a secure webdav folder that gets accessed via a non-standard port and requires basic authentication. I can connect and interact with it fine via cadaver. However, when I try to connect from nautilus, it says "Access was denied." To make it even stranger, sometimes I can click on the folder in nautilus (it still mounts) and access it. Sometimes not (just repeats the error message and won't show me the contents). I may not even un-mount it, but just look at other folder, then click it again and be able to access it, but again - only rarely.
I asked a friend to try connecting from his windows vista computer and it would not work. It would not work from my windows XP virtual computer either. However, it mounts and works just find from my work computer (also Windows XP).
So it seems to be a 50/50 chance that the drive will mount on any given computer/system and work. Do anyone know what the problem may be? I'm guessing user permissions, but I can't figure out what.
I've made sure the webdav folder is owned by www-data and www-data has read access to the password file as well.

I configure named and stumble upon the following problem: named is serious about user rights, every config file named uses should be named:named. I set rights to named:named as follows, but they get changed to root:named when I restart named as root. The same thing happens with SELinux context. This results in access denied type errors.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two external hard drives. One is a 2.5" 80GB USB HDD and the other is a Seagate 3.5" USB 500GB HDD. Both hard drives are mounted properly and I can access the data on both hard drives. I can access the small 80GB HDD via ssh from another computer and delete files, but when I try to access the 500GB drive via ssh it says access denied. When I try to access it with root, I can access it but I cannot see any files listed.

I had gcc-4.4 as default on my pc, so after this error I downloaded an older version (gcc-4.1) and removed with rm the symbolic link in /usr/bin pointing to gcc-4.4 and created a new one pointing to gcc-4.1. Now when I type gcc -v in the terminal it says that gcc is in the packages gcc and pentium-builder, to do an apt-get install. I tried that but than it says that gcc-4.1 is already the newest version. It seems that I have multiple versions of gcc installed but neither the terminal nor matlab can find them.
When login through root on HP-tru Unix server, I am trying to access a directory, it is saying "Permission Denied".. I have installed Nginx with PHP-FPM on Debian 8 to learn more about Linux permissions. Nginx is run as www-data user.
I have created a simple PHP script that outputs the date. I have set the permission as 000 (no permission at all) and it is root:root. How come I can still run this script in the browser without getting access denied? The script is inside a folder with world execution. When removing the world execution permission, the script can't be run. How does this all connect to each other?

Setup an Ubuntu LAMP server to house a Wordpress site. Everything is gravy but I am having some troubles getting emails to route outside my local network. I have setup Internet and also added my ISP SMTP as a smarthost - either way I get the dreaded Relay Access Denied 5.7.1.
I am using DynDns as I do not have a static IP - not sure if this makes a difference?
