I've just installed Fedora 13 and so far it's been pretty painless. But i am having some issue with dragon player. I beleive i have all of the multimedia stuff installed properly. But i am getting no video or sound from dragon player. stuff plays fine in vlc.

When i use dragon player on KUBUNTU i can't see any video just my desktop background and the sound from what i'm watching.But when i use this program in ubuntu it works fine.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Kubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx. It is working well, but Movie Player does not work, and Dragon Player plays videos/movies but with no audio. VLC works fine. how to either remove Movie Player and Dragon Player or make them work. I tried apt-get remove mplayer but that doesn't work. If not that, I wonder if the default media player can be changed to VLC, e.g., when you click any video it will start to play using VLC?

Indeed, Dragon starts to play the DVD. However, the image is distorted and you can't recognize anything... This is what the terminal messages say when I start Dragon over the terminal:

My problem is that i have no sound in any video player. The video works perfectly, but with absolutely no sound. I've tried switching output to ALSA, OCC and still no success. My audio files are playing perfect with any music player. In sound setting I'm using Analog stereo duplex, I have the option of choosing HDMI, but than I have no sound whatsoever.

I have a problem with VLC media player. I just reinstall it and when I try to run any movie the sound is working well but there is no video. I already tried every video codecs in the settings but with the same result. I also tried to start first VLC and select the video but that does not change anything.

Anyway I have an account at a website where I watch free TV, thing is the website uses Windows Media Player to stream the TV channels. I downloaded a bunch of plug-ins like VLC player, MPlayer and some other but all I get is the sound from the channels, no video other than some stupid graphics like when you play a song in Windows Media Player. So I wanted to ask you guys if you can help a brother out and please be as detailed as possible as to what to do because I'm still getting used to working in this environment.

No biggie, I thought; when I went to reinstall it, I saw that VLC 1.0.5-1 fc12 was available. Tried to install it, and KPackageKit calmly proceeded to throw up, telling me:

Wonderful. Now I don't have a video player that natively does mpg/avi; Dragon Player pretends to play them, but there's no video; same with Xine. BTW, I tried to report this via Bugzilla at Redhat, but couldn't find anything that resembled a way to report an actual bug/problem (what app doesn't work, how it doesn't work, any error messages).
I have Fedora 12. When i play some video in any player (totem, xine), there is no green color, only red and blue. How can i fixed this?

Anyway, GXine isn't working, though it says its configured correctly. I'm very new to fedora and linux in general, played a bit with ubuntu 9.10.

My problem now is that I can no longer hear sound when browsing the internet. My web browser is Firefox. View 5 Replies View RelatedAny time I want to view a video that uses flash (i.e ....., yahoo, ect...) the video will start to play for about 3-5 seconds with no sound. Then the video will pause and the sound will start to play for about 3-5 seconds WHILE the video is paused. Once the sound catches up to the video they both start to play synchronized. By the way I am using Fedora 11 32-bit. This happend on both the beta firefox that came with it originally and the 3.5 final. I am using the current adobe flash player. All this is from the repos with the system up to date.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had some issues since installing Fedora 11 on my desktop (well not after I installed it, once I installed the updates). Anyway sound was cutting out, videos were jumping, speeding up with no sound etc online such as ....., when playing local songs and videos etc. Anyway I followed this guide [URL] and that fixed my playing of online videos, music and when I play local music in totem etc. IN fact there is no issues with sound in those.
However; when I try to play a local video in any medial player it jumps sound, crashes, if it starts playing sound it will cut out and if I move the video forward it cuts out and sometimes crashes the video player. Any ideas why that guide fixed all online video and local MP3 but is till messed up playing local videos?
When I play large HD videos in mplayer, the video and sound frequently get out of sync, and the video plays a little strangely (occasionally speeding up and occasionally slowing down).
I think it's because mplayer is only running on a single core. As I've got a quad-core processor, it seems inefficient. I've seen that there is theoretically a way to get mplayer to work with multicore setups, but it requires compiling with different options. That'd take me a little while to work through.
Ideally there would be a pre-compiled version in the software centre, or a player which has support built in (again, ideally in the software centre). Is there such a thing available?
