Fedora :: Nvidia 8600m Gt Driver Fc12 - Kernel Automatically Will Change To Be A Pae Kernel?

Jul 4, 2010

my problem is on installing nvidia driver on fc12 32bit but, first of all, as i understood the pae kernel requires more than 4gb of ram,i have a 2.2 ghz cpu with 2 gb ram,but when i run command:uname -r it answers: 2.6.31.5-127.PAE [i have fc12 32 bit] when we try to download linux we have a 32bit edition or 64bit edition,do we have an edition which is only for pae? or when we install for example the 32bit edition on a computer with more than 4gb of ram then the kernel automatically will change to be a pae kernel??

The problem is, now that I try to go back to English, the locale doesn't change back, only the menus are in english. Ubuntu :: New Theme - Notifications Change / Get Back?

Jan 20, 2010

Does anybody know how I can change the way the icons in my panel react when they need attention? For example if I get an IM, how can I adjust the way the IM box in the task bar acts? I put a new theme in I really like, but my IMs and other windows that would normally flash to show they need attention now do nothing, so I don't know when I get an IM or anything. Is there any way I can tweak that?

OpenSUSE Install :: Kernel Changed - How To Get Original Back

May 15, 2011

When I first installed openSUSE 11.4 the /boot directory looked like this:

I had installed VirtualBox through Yast and decoded to delete. After deleting the /boot directory looked like this, pointing now to the desktop kernel.

I went into YAST and deleted all kernel entries that contained desktop, trying to get back to the original configuration.

After doing this, the /boot directory now looks like this.

Is there any way to get back to the original kernel configuration without having to do a complete installation?

Ubuntu Networking :: Change Eth0 Back To Be Primary Nic?

Mar 16, 2011

I've been fighting with this nearly for three hours, but nothing seems to be working. I have one Gigabit Realtek chip integrated on my Mainboard (which I use for internet connection), and one aditional 100Mbit in PCI slot. So, I basically want to use this 100Mbit for testing purposes, but when I connect something to this 100Mbit NIC adapter, it becomes default and I can not access internet. So, I want to set my eth0 (gigabit integrated adapter) as default adapter.

P.S. I've tried to edit /etc/network/interfaces and iftab, but nothing worked.
