Ubuntu :: Change The Mouse Pointer Back To Normal?

I was messing with appearances and inadvertently changed my mouse pointer. Currently it's big and red, I can't figure out how or where I need to be to change the mouse pointer back to normal.

Ubuntu :: Can't Change Mouse Pointer / Resolve It?
I am trying to change my mouse pointer icon. I have my computer looking like I want it to with the exception of the mouse pointer.
I found a guide here:

I installed gcursor, however it will not let me change anything. The Install Theme and Go to Theme Folder buttons do nothing. Could this be some sort of a conflict with Compiz?

P.S. I am running Lucid.

Ubuntu :: Mouse Pointer Style Won't Change?
I just installed Kubuntu on my machine, but on returning to gde I still have the oxy-white pointer from kde. I went to preferences>appearance>themes>customize>pointer, and changed it back to DMZ White, yet the pointer still looks like oxy-white. I tried it with all of the different pointer options, but none of them will override oxy-white.

Ubuntu :: Unable To Change Mouse Pointer After KDE Install?
I am using Ubuntu 9.10 for about three months now (I am a total greenhorn) . A few hours ago, I decided to add the KDE 4.4 desktop environment. I followed the procedure on this link. It was all in GUI, no terminal commands required. [URL]

Installed KDE and everything is fine except two problems.

1. The KDE mouse pointer has become default in GNOME and I just can't change it. Tried everything, changing theme, customising theme and even downloaded the "mouse pointer" app from Software Centre. Nothing works.

2. I am not able to upgrade anything using Kpackagekit. It keeps telling me I don't have authorisation, without asking for my password.

OpenSUSE :: KDE Mouse Pointer Disappears On Resolution Change / Fix It?
I installed Suse 11.2 recently, and i have my laptop hooked up to a HD monitor.
When i choose the HD monitor, if the resolution is low, lets say 1280x800, same as my laptop, its fine. I see the mouse pointer.

But as soon as i change the resolution to 1920x1080, the pointer disappears. Mouse functionality works allright. Right click/left click works fine, and i can see the buttons getting highlighted on mouse-ever.
But the pointer is gone.

OpenSUSE :: Unable To Change Mouse Pointer Size/color?
Fresh install of 32-bit 11.3 on my father's computer.He needs me to enlarge the mouse pointer and/or make it a different color. I changed it in the settings/themes thing like you are supposed to, but it appears to only take effect in Mozilla.needs the larger mouse pointer for the entire system. Evolution appears to completely ignore the mouse theme settings.

I just installed Ubuntu 10.10 on my HP Pavilion a320n computer with a ps2 mouse and the mouse pointer points with the bottom of the mouse and not the upper tip of the point. It does the same thing with Ubuntu 10.04.1. In Windows 7 and XP the mouse is normal. I don't know how I could adjust it or is this just a bug in the OS?

Fedora :: How To Make Mouse Pointer Less Sensitive To Mouse Movements
I'm running FC12 and GNOME.If I move the physical mouse about one inch, the mouse pointer moves across the entire screen.That's way too fast and way to sensitive.I prefer the mouse pointer to move far less distance on the screen when the physical mouse is moved.

From System->Preferences->Mouse, I set the various mouse Pointer Speed acceleration and Sensitivity to Slow, Fast, Low, High, and and I couldn't get it any better. At the least sensitive settings. if I move the physical mouse one inch, the mouse pointer moves across the entire screen.How can make the mouse pointer less sensitive to mouse movements?

Ubuntu :: How To Create Own Mouse Pointer
i have many mouse pointers in the .ico also .ani and .cur format from my old windows days SEE image attached would also like to make new ones and really want to turn them into a format which works on ubuntu since the choice of pointers is only 6 i found a way to install X11 cursors from download then save to .icons in the hidden part (control H) of my home folder then go system/preference/appearance/customize/pointers

but even then you have to install a whole lot of files to change one pointer and i see no way of making/installing my own is there a more straightforward way? ubuntu/linux are about freedom and here i am at the moment very restricted

Ubuntu :: Can't Change Pointer 10.10 / Compiz Wont Change?
I had issues with changing the pointer when compiz was active in ubuntu 10.10. it would not change when on the desktop, only when hovering over a window.I solved this issue by doing the following:

Hit alt f2 and enter-> gconf-editor

Then goto-> /->apps->compiz->general->allscreens->options

Then in "cursor_themes" type in the name of the pointer theme(Eg. DMZ-White)

This should resolve the issue with compiz.I am not going to go over that here.Oh yea don't forget to logout/login or press ALT F2 and enter compiz - -replace to refresh the pointer...

Ubuntu :: 10.10 Black-screen And Mouse Pointer
I am using Ubuntu 10.10 on my Dell Inspiron 1525. I haven't have been having consistent internet connection, hence haven't updated for much of the time. Yesterday I tried to update the Firefox browser from 3.6 to 4 and ran

sudo apt-get install firefox

It told a amount of around 57 packages would be updated in the process. After the installation I shutdown and went to sleep.The system now boots to purple screen ubuntu dot loading and then to black screen with the mouse pointer in the centre. Then nothing happens. I searched in the forums and tried to go to recovery mode and ran dkpg, then failsafeX, but failsafeX cannot detect my input devices, Hence I can't do anything.

Ubuntu :: Mouse Pointer Disappearing In Wine?
At links the mouse pointer disappears within Internet Explorer 6.0. I just updated to the latest version of ubuntu which run like a charm. This problem however is annoying.I can press Ctrl to see the pointer but the fact is it should never disappear.

I do have problems with the graphics (Intel 4500) which sometimes at reproducable cases stops responding. (When trying to update graphically and having to answer a question in a child window to the main window). Is this problem a wine setting or something with x11 or compiz or ?
