I can start my webservers sometimes, but not at everytime. After restarting the system, again I can start my web server as usual. Whether it is a problem of fedora9 or web servers?

Can anyone help me with how to create an init.d script that will startup a vm machine in virtualbox at boot? I found this script:[URL]..But it is for ubuntu. I am running fedora 12 x386 and using it as an Amahi server. Very cool, but it would be extra cool if I had a virtual windows machine startup when I booted up this server. Then I could just rdp into it when I needed something in windows.

service vncserver start results in following log file in users .vnc directory:
cups does not start with the server. When I try to start from the terminal I get the error message cupsd: Unable to read configuration file '/etc/cups/cupsd.conf' - exiting! cupsd: Child exited with status 1!
The log files show nothing. cupsd.conf exists. It is user - root and group - root with permissions set at 0644. My interpretation of this is that the program is not launching from either boot or terminal for a fundamental reason. I do not quite see what that reason is ..
I have fedora 10 and vista in my system. however,all was working fine ,but suddenly today when i tried to boot into fedora , i found that the avahi demon was not starting , and when the systemn booted , a message was shown that thre wasn't enough memeory space , and a blacjk scereen was shown , then i booted into vista and tried t acess the linux partiotion by Explore 2f software... At first it showed not enough memory space , but on rescanning the partition,it is showing the /boot folder.So how do i delete some data in fedora ?

I have tried removing the .evolution and .gconf/apps/evolution and, uninstalling and re-installing evolution and the most i could get is the initial config screen to setup the mail account. I have TigerVNC installed on Fedora 14 and when I boot up I get the following message in the log file in the ~/.vnc directory :

View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed ardour on my F11 box, and both jack1 (0.xx, in /usr/bin) and jack2( 1.9.5, in /usr/local/bin/). Now when I try to start ardour, it balks about being unable to start jack. On the ardour settings page, I tried changing the JACK server path field from /usr/local/bin to /usr/bin, to no avail.
On the cmdline, here's what I get when I run, manually jack1 and jack2:

That prompts me to think that JACK1 is fine... but still ardour won't start up.

I am running fedora 10 and webmin squid proxy server, after power failure the squid fails to start. i have tried to start it from command line but failed

I can view my website, and ssh in when I've logged in already at home, but if the system gets rebooted, and gets as far as the login screen, I am not able to view the web site or ssh in. I was wondering how to set things up so thatthese services are running independent of logging in.

Proftpd has been running OK until recently, when I tried to connect using my laptop. All I get is the proftpd-socket file under /var/run/proftpd/ I cant' find any log files with error messages in them. I have checked /var/log/messages - nothing in there either. I have rebooted the machine after re-installing proftpd. Still it wont start Is there any way to find out why proftpd has decided not to start any more?

How would I get the SSH server to start before I've logged in?Basically, the problem I have is that if I'm connecedt to my computer remotely over SSH, and reboot the machine, I'm not able to SSH back in after it restarts. As far as I can tell, this is because the SSH server doesn't automatically start up until after I've logged in for the first time.How would I get around that? Surely that is a fairly common scenario for network admins (especially ones who have keyboardless and monitorless machines running).

I just got the problem while starting the dhcp daemon. Its showing failed. I need to start it for my clients to be autoinstalled. I am having CentOS 5.2 linux. I've installed all optional packages also while installing CentOS. How to start the dhcp daemon? I've tried the /etc/init.d/dhcpd start also. But it didnt work. Showing Failed.
