View 1 Replies View RelatedI was trying to install Ubuntu 10.04 on my Sony VAIO Laptop, for the full specs, it's here. I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, I downloaded the latest version of Wubi. I copied the Wubi executable to the directory where I downloaded the ISO file of Ubuntu 10.04 (32-bit). Everything went fine, I was able to install it properly. Then I after restarting my computer and selecting Ubuntu on the Boot Menu, the only thing that I can see is just a blank screen. I tried hard rebooting a lot of times and still, nothing happens.
what is the possible solution to the "blank screen" issue that I'm experiencing?
I am using Fedora 10 64 bit, KDE. I have installed KDEbluetooth application. but I am not able to use the bluetooth service. Is there any other application in fedora?

In windows i was able to use bluetooth with my nokia phone.
The wireless hardware button in the laptop is on. There is no option it the bios to turn off the bluetooth, so i'm sure that the machine is booting with bluetooth on.

Just resently I managed to activate internal bluetooth adapter. I'm not expert in command line and everything I could was done in GNOME. Same like most other systems an icon appears in panel bar whenever I used to type <modprobe omnibook ectype=14>. It took me some time to set everything with the kind help from URL... So the thing is that after fingering with some newly installed packages concerning b-tooth utilities that icon is gone and b-tooth is not active.

I can connect to Audio Sink service on my bluetooth headset and it works but I couldn't connect to Headset service on my bluetooth headset. Bluez daemon quits when I try to connect to Headset service. The same bluetooth headset works fine with my XP. I can connect to Audio Sink and HSP service in my XP.

I meddled a bit with the PAE kernel and tried to install the driver off the nvidia website and now the system does even boot..
I just installed Fedora 14 (running KDE) on my HP DV6Z-SE. It came pre-packaged with Windows 7 and I am running a dual-boot (I kept Windows for gaming purposes). Anyway, problem is I am unable to play media sounds. I've tried playing my music (all OGG Vorbis) on both DragonPlayer and VLC, to no avail. When I go to Phonon, I have two options for prefered devices, "Redwood HDMI Audio [Radeon HD 5600 Series] Digital Stereo (HDMI)" and "Internal Audio Analog Stereo".
When I test them, the Radeon one never plays sound, while the Internal Audio plays the test sound sometimes (rarely). I tried moving the latter up the preference order, but it changed nothing.
I have a problem with BT again, I installed blueman from SlackBuild at [URL], but when I start it (from Setting > Bluetooth Manager), it was running with a minimized window at the taskbar for a while and not appear any window or icon on the system tray.
I track its process, there's still it running background

At first it showed not enough memory space , but on rescanning the partition,it is showing the /boot folder.So how do i delete some data in fedora ?

I have tried removing the .evolution and .gconf/apps/evolution and, uninstalling and re-installing evolution and the most i could get is the initial config screen to setup the mail account. After i do all of that, the window disappears and does not come back. Does anyone know how to start up evolution?
