Fedora :: Software To Listen FM Radio?

May 4, 2011

I recently purchased a DVB-T PCI (Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1110) card mainly for television watching purposes, but it also features FM radio tuner. I am now trying to find a software to listen to it. I have only been able to find some really old links and programs that no longer have working links, [URL] scroll down to FM radio software for example. Does anyone know a good working (and preferably still maintained) software for this?

OpenSUSE Hardware :: 11.3 - Cannot Listen To Internet Radio

Oct 26, 2010

Very inexperienced user of Linux. I am using openSUSE 11.3 (64-bit version). My audio card is Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio (PCIe version). I just installed some ALSA patches (alsa-driver-kmp) as suggested in this thread: Driver for Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio (PCIe) and I am now able to listen to CD music. However I am still having problems with Internet radio. For instance, when I go to AccuRadio | Internet Radio You Control and pick the Classical channel, another window pops up but the music is not streaming. Am I missing some other driver?

Ubuntu Multimedia :: Sound System Fine But Cannot Listen To Radio Livestream

Aug 18, 2010

I did a clean install of ubuntu 10.4 on 2 pc's and got the problem underneath on both of them. I can play all kinds of cd's, dvd's. The soundsystem is working fine. If I want to listen to a radio-station in a browser (be it firefox, be it chromium) I don't hear anything at all. No error-messages are generated. I installed/removed various soundmodules, but all to no avail. If I paste the url of the strean in VLC or Rythmbox, then I can hear the music! At booting-up, I get the following messages in the user.log-file :

Aug 18 20:36:27 Ubuntu-Bernard pulseaudio[1093]: module.c: Failed to load module "module-rtp-recv" (argument: ""): initialization failed.
Aug 18 20:36:27 Ubuntu-Bernard pulseaudio[1093]: module-gconf.c: pa_module_load() failed
Aug 18 20:36:27 Ubuntu-Bernard pulseaudio[1182]: pid.c: Daemon already running.

I must say that initially I only got the message "pulseaudio[1135]: pid.c: Daemon already running." By the way. I can listen to some stations, eg. [URL]. In the latter case, an iplayer-console is being opened.

Ubuntu Multimedia :: Gnome Radio - Doesn't Find Any Radio Channels And The Input Channel Is Completely Wrong

May 1, 2010

I have a new install of Karmic on my system with a flyvideo 3000 tv card installed. My problem is that it doesn't find any radio channels and the input channel is completely wrong. I don't have any sound on gnomeradio and can't find the config files to change the input channel. The only input option available to me is dig1 - can anyone point me in the right direction?

I have already read the Howto for this tv card and changed the device to radio0 in the setup. I have setup tvtime perfectly with sound channel as well as with a 5.1 surround configuration. I am missing my favourite radio channel. and I want to get rid of my windows installations once and for all! Update: I did a system update and some things have changed: the radio tower graphic on gnomeradio is now green (I assume it is getting a signal) but no sound yet.

Ubuntu :: How To Record The Radio Show From A Radio

Dec 8, 2010

record my radio show from a radio I have plugged into my iMac. That's right. For now, I am dual booting on my iMac until I can afford to buy a dedicated PC desktop just for Ubuntu.

I can't believe that there seems to be no way for me to record my shows from my radio. Works fine when I boot into the Mac side and even when I use Ubuntu using VMware Fusion. When I boot into Ubuntu directly, Audio In in the Sound preferences doesn't seem to work. No audio coming through when I try to record from the radio.

Fedora Networking :: Apache Listen To Assigned Port 80

Aug 29, 2010

On Fedora 13 is there anywhere else on the system that I have to change to get Apache to Listen to an assigned port, something other than 80. Suppose for instance I wanted Apache to Listen on port 94. I told by the site that their router is forwarding apache to port 94. That doesn't mean I change the Listen in httpd.conf. correct. Apache is still expecting connection on port 80 but in this case 80 then gets forwarded in the router to 94. This is my understanding.
