I have an account to log into Coasttocoastam Site and listen to the streaming audio. On windows it plays with either Windows Media Player OR Real Player. I've always just used Windows media player. Now that I'm installed Ubuntu 10.04 when I go the site. Of course I click it to copy what it's doing and XINE is displaying and I see it's buffering and then starts to play.

I am now trying to find a software to listen to it. I just installed some ALSA patches (alsa-driver-kmp) as suggested in this thread: Driver for Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio (PCIe) and I am now able to listen to CD music. However I am still having problems with Internet radio. For instance, when I go to AccuRadio | Internet Radio You Control and pick the Classical channel, another window pops up but the music is not streaming. Am I missing some other driver?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI did a clean install of ubuntu 10.4 on 2 pc's and got the problem underneath on both of them. I can play all kinds of cd's, dvd's. The soundsystem is working fine. If I want to listen to a radio-station in a browser (be it firefox, be it chromium) I don't hear anything at all. No error-messages are generated. I installed/removed various soundmodules, but all to no avail. If I paste the url of the strean in VLC or Rythmbox, then I can hear the music! At booting-up, I get the following messages in the user.log-file :

When I click on them, whether trying to use their "player" or (in case of jazz24) clicking on "mp3 stream" ... the result is simply crashing the browser, whether firefox or chrome. If I click the mp3 stream, banshee opens with an hourglass-type icon but doesn't do anything.
My local music files play fine on Banshee and I CAN listen to streaming baseball on mlb.com (which is a Flash-based player).
I have Lucid 64 bit. For some reason, I feel like these radio stations used to work, though I can't pinpoint when they stopped working. Can it be that the entire world of internet radio is closed to me on Linux? For some reason i doubt it, there must be something I'm doing wrong here?

I have Ubuntu on both my machines but my older machine is a Duron with 128 mb of ram. Because of that, I have Xubuntu 6.06 on it. It runs very well. So well, I wondered if I could use it to stream internet radio or even videos. Problem is, I can't find flash for it.

I can access internet using both devices, but when i am using the network card i am unable to listen to radio stations because the radio streaming is not allowed at the work place. So, i am triyng to find a solution and the solution seems to be to use the bonding module on linux. But i have a few question:
1) i don't know if it is possible to use this module for 2 such different devices
2) i don't know if, even enabling bonding, i will be able to "select" the right path in order to reach the radio streaming , or if the right path is selected automatically. When i connect to the radio station using the network card, it opens the connection, but it closes it imediately and i am not sure that the kernel is clever enough to use the other connection in this case.
I am wondering if any in the Ubuntu community owns a Carmen Car Radio player by Livio Radio. The program to save internet radio to the device is written in Java, however I am not able to run it either using WINE or using Open JDK.
The Carmen Player does work well with Banshee, it is the internet radio that is not working.
I have a new install of Karmic on my system with a flyvideo 3000 tv card installed. My problem is that it doesn't find any radio channels and the input channel is completely wrong. I don't have any sound on gnomeradio and can't find the config files to change the input channel. The only input option available to me is dig1 - can anyone point me in the right direction?
I have already read the Howto for this tv card and changed the device to radio0 in the setup. I have setup tvtime perfectly with sound channel as well as with a 5.1 surround configuration. I am missing my favourite radio channel. and I want to get rid of my windows installations once and for all! Update: I did a system update and some things have changed: the radio tower graphic on gnomeradio is now green (I assume it is getting a signal) but no sound yet.

I can't believe that there seems to be no way for me to record my shows from my radio. Works fine when I boot into the Mac side and even when I use Ubuntu using VMware Fusion. I successfully installed darwin streaming server .. I stream Audio through internet well but videos I can stream locally in my network only .. when I am connected to internet outside my network .. it doesn't stream I think their must be ports opened for that .. or any 1 have any ideas .. the audio is streamed on port 8000 .. video is streamed on port 7070 but locally only .. I opened those 2 ports in my router only the audio is working .. also I opened ports 554,7170 disabled the firewall of the router .. is it a problem of ports or something else .

I want to now set up a second server to hold all the data it collects. I need to change the snort server so it only listens. I disabled ping responses, but I want to go farther than that.
