But after it updated and I restarted the service, it's reporting 2.2.0 on any error page. Yet through yum it's reporting 2.2.13-1. Is that normal? I've only ever used 2.2.x, starting with 2.2.6ish.

Users then can browse to their site by going to[URL],,.How can I get apache to show a different or default page if the user does not have a index.html file in their public_html folder. Cause if they dont, you get a 401 saying you dont have permissions to view, etc. So id like apache to default to something else if the user doesnt have a index.html.

There is no such information in the error log either. What should I do about it, it's not really nice to comment all the lines and then try to uncomment them one by one. For example, if there is a semicolon or closing brace missing, it should cause the script to die with a hint about which line caused the script to stop working. Apache just says that the page is "forbidden" if I'm not logged in on the server, which means I need to go to the server and physically log in or I can do it trough ssh but then when I close my ssh client on my work computer the page is "forbidden" again. And I cant seem to reach the FTP-server from an external address so I need to be in the network to access it.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI moved from F12 to F14, I've installed using yum Apache, MySql, php, phpMyAdmin. That all works fine, I've made index.php with phpinfo() function and if it is in /var/www/html/ it opens in web browser. I extracted daloradius-0.9-8 in /var/www/hmtl/daloradius folder changed ownership to apache:apache set alias to myradius. When I point web browser to localhost/myradius I get error 403, forbidden. I moved index.php with phpinfo() to daloradius (overwriting old index.php) and same stuff happens. Error 403. What am I doing wrong?

Ive installed apache2 on the new server and moved all the files from one server to the other. I'm making tests in my local lan so I've edited my computer's hosts file to point to the name of each site to the local ip of the new server:

192.168.1.85 svn.mypage.com
192.168.1.85 trac.mypage.com
I have all the site definition files in /etc/apache2/sites-available I also have the used a2ensite to enable each page.
Whenever o use my browser to try and access each of the sites I always get the svn.mypage.com page and none of the others.

View 2 Replies View Relatedthe hard drive on my web server died so I replaced it and installed Fedora 15. I have been installing the OS on a small drive and then mounting other drive(s) for storage and did the same thing here. The problem is that I cannot get Apache to follow symlinks. Apache is partially working, it will serve my index.html page in the web page root directory and I made another directory called webtest and put some files in, and that worked fine. I made a symlink from the root directory to a folder on the mounted drive but when I try to access it, it gives me the old 403 Forbidden error. I also made a similar link in the webtest directory, I can view the other files in that directory but it does not show the link - also, trying to force it by typing the full path in the browser gives the same 403 error.
I have checked the permissions and SELinux types (using ls -Z) and they seem to be fine and I cannot find any .htaccess files. All the files on the mounted drive are owned by www:www but I also tried setting the user and group to www in httpd.conf and it still gave the same issue, so I changed them back to apache. I've been reading posts and sites on this for hours now and I'm still lost. I can post results of log files if they are of any use, I just wasn't sure what to post because it is somewhat working.

The last week, I have been getting a "page Load Error" on my web server whilst others told me they are getting a "broken link" error when they try to access my web site. It has been working fine for the last 12 months until last week.

I can ping my IP address and my domain name.

I installed lighttpd to be able to view cgi files that display the status of my UPS. For the most part is has worked w/o incident i.e. until recently when the UPS battery failed on my APC backups xs 1500 lcd. I could not view the multimon.cgi file via the localhost or 127.0.0.1 url e.g.: [URL]... I'd get 404 page not found message. After checking links here and on the web, I tried: [URL]... The page is displayed. From this discovery, I'm not sure that this is a web server configuration or a network host configuration issue or what. I'm running Lucid with all updates, no mods to lighttpd except I added the mod_fastcgi line to the lighttpd.conf file

I shall explain problem by taking an example. A project was checked in long before (for example the checkin date is 25 Feb 2010). And today (i.e. 21 June 2011) I checked out the project from the repository. After checkout, the date of the project in the repository is changed from 25 Feb 2010 to 21 June 2011. This date is set to all the subfolders in that project. But the files in the project retains the checking date i.e. 25 Feb 2010. Why the check-in dates are getting updated/changed to the system time after doing check-out.
My ISP Blocks port 80 so I changed the port to 8081 after I do this and restart Apache and use my IP with :8081 after I get a page saying Not Found The requested URL /index.html was not found on this server. I get this same message if I use my real IP or the IP from my router. What can be causing this?
