Ubuntu Servers :: Apache Error Log Format Percentage Not Recognized 10.04
Jun 4, 2010
I wanted to log some messages on Apache. So I added in VirtualHost definition
Code:
CustomLog /var/log/apache2/site-resp_log resp
LogFormat "%{X-Forwarded-For} %D %t %T %v %O %b %A %B" resp
and restarted apache2.
I got following error
Code:
* Restarting web server apache2
Syntax error on line 33 of /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/site.com:
Unrecognized LogFormat directive % [fail]
root@server:/var/log/apache2# vi /etc/apache2/sites-available/sites.com
Here is a page I referred to. I am not able to understand the syntax error.

I am trying to compile a software using a provided sdk. I suspect that the sdk has some mismatch of the platform library, but I am not sure.
The error I got is
Code:
The libidata.so.42 is there in that folder. I guess the file might be in a big endian. Is there a way to check if the libidata.so.42 i have might be a big endian format, rather than little endian?
If my guess is incorrect, This is a c++ code on fedora x86 machine.

Ubuntu 9.04 server (64bit)
8GB
(2) 320 WD HDD - RAID 1
After coming home one evening I found my server was turned off. My suspicions lead me to believe we had a storm and the power went off, then the UPS went off and finally at that point the server went off too. I think my server was set to allow security updates. After it turned of and restarted it seems it made a change to Grub and upgraded it to Grub2. In doing so I now get the following message:
Error 13: Invalid or un supported executable format
I have tried to do the following:
url
This solved the problem for me, from > url
Quote:boot from the live medium and chroot into the Linux installation:
$ sudo mkdir /mnt/linux
$ sudo mount -t ext4 /dev/sda1 /mnt/linux
code....
Then, the following command should resolve the issue. :
$ sudo grub-install --recheck /dev/sda

I'm trying to cross-compile glibc 2.2.3 for PowerPC 405 using ELDK 3.0 on a x86_64 machine.
I have unzipped glibc-2.2.3 in a temp directory and configured using:
The configuration seems to run fine but when I do make I get the following error:
This is the error in the config.log file:
I have installed the libgd package using apt-get install libgd2-xpm-dev and I also tried recompiling using libgd2-noxpm-dev package but I still get the same error.

I moved from F12 to F14, I've installed using yum Apache, MySql, php, phpMyAdmin. That all works fine, I've made index.php with phpinfo() function and if it is in /var/www/html/ it opens in web browser. I extracted daloradius-0.9-8 in /var/www/hmtl/daloradius folder changed ownership to apache:apache set alias to myradius. When I point web browser to localhost/myradius I get error 403, forbidden. I moved index.php with phpinfo() to daloradius (overwriting old index.php) and same stuff happens. Error 403. What am I doing wrong?

My ISP Blocks port 80 so I changed the port to 8081 after I do this and restart Apache and use my IP with :8081 after I get a page saying Not Found The requested URL /index.html was not found on this server. I get this same message if I use my real IP or the IP from my router. What can be causing this?

the hard drive on my web server died so I replaced it and installed Fedora 15. I have been installing the OS on a small drive and then mounting other drive(s) for storage and did the same thing here. The problem is that I cannot get Apache to follow symlinks. Apache is partially working, it will serve my index.html page in the web page root directory and I made another directory called webtest and put some files in, and that worked fine. I made a symlink from the root directory to a folder on the mounted drive but when I try to access it, it gives me the old 403 Forbidden error. I also made a similar link in the webtest directory, I can view the other files in that directory but it does not show the link - also, trying to force it by typing the full path in the browser gives the same 403 error.
I have checked the permissions and SELinux types (using ls -Z) and they seem to be fine and I cannot find any .htaccess files. All the files on the mounted drive are owned by www:www but I also tried setting the user and group to www in httpd.conf and it still gave the same issue, so I changed them back to apache. I've been reading posts and sites on this for hours now and I'm still lost. I can post results of log files if they are of any use, I just wasn't sure what to post because it is somewhat working.

I am sure this information is out there somewhere, but Googling apache access.log and hostname does not give you any good leads... so I hope someone here might be able to provide me with a quick answer...I am setting up a cluster of web servers, so I would like to name the access.log and error.log with the hostname of the individual servers to be able to distinguish one from another.

But after it updated and I restarted the service, it's reporting 2.2.0 on any error page. Yet through yum it's reporting 2.2.13-1. Is that normal? I've only ever used 2.2.x, starting with 2.2.6ish.

I've got some trouble trying to format a SD card. I tried to format it in the GUI and the terminal, but couldn't make it. I couldn't even copy or move any file to the directory in the SD card, even logged as root.
It's a SD card from a digital camera. When I insert it in the camera, it says the card is blocked, so that it's not possible to take any picture.
I tried using "fdisk" to set a new fyle system in it, and tried "mkdosfs" trying to format it under the current file system.

I run a small home/hobby server. I attempted to upgrade it this morning. It was previously using 8.04 lts. I followed the instructions found here, [URL].. Upgrade for Ubuntu Servers (Recommended) I followed the on-screen instructions. After the installation was complete, I rebooted the server. On start up, I was greeted by this message "error 13: Invalid or unsupported executable format." I have since tried booting into every 10.04 kernel listed. However, the results are the same. I have attempted to find a solution via web search, but have had difficulty finding a solution that is appropriate for my situation.

I'm trying to find some tool on generating reports based on apache access_log files (of Common format). I found some of them (awstats, lire/logreport, weblog expert, apache logs viewer, etc..) but they generate some global and general report about the log file. Also some perl script I found they just show the Top X number of different patterns. My request is how can I generate some similar report with this output:
IP-s | Total nr. of connections | Number of pages visited | Total time of connection
So basically this is a list with every IP on the log and the respective numbers (connection/pages/time) associated.

I'm still trying to find out if my coby mp3 player will actually play mtv video files as is advertised.
ffmpeg -formats does list mtv but the only command I really ever used was one to convert a vid to an mp3 so I tried Code: ffmpeg -i test.mp4 -acodec copy output.mtv it returns Code: Unable to find a suitable output format for 'output.mtv' I can't find any mtv files online for purchase or free for that matter, so I know this is all pretty obscure but shouldn't there be a way to convert them since ffmpeg lists mtv format?

I am installing Big Brother on a CentOS 5.2 running the default Apache 2.2.3. When I try to access any web page I get the following error: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /bb/ on this server. Apache/2.2.3 (CentOS) Server at fmsubbnix Port 80 So far I have:
1) Set the Directory options to FollowSymLinks
2) Verified all directory and file permissions are at 755
3) Set permissions temporarily to 777 and received same error so I am assuming the issue is in a config file somewhere
4) in hhtpd.conf verified <Files ~ "^.ht"> is correct
5) verified the "default" directory is correct (/var/www/html)
I have read and tried several ideas in posts listed on the web but to no avail and am at a loss as to what to look for next..

I'm having a problem with the installation of Ubuntu Server 10.04 64bit on my IBM xSeries 346 Type 8840. During the installation the system won't recognize any disk, so it's asking which driver it should use for the RAID controller. There's a list of options, but nothing seems to work. I've been searching the IBM website for an appropriate driver, but there is no Ubuntu version (there is Red Hat, SUSE, etc). I was thinking about downloading the correct driver onto a floppy disk to finalize the installation, but apparently no 'general' Linux driver to solve the problem here.

I don't have the room to install xubuntu with my preferred gnome desktop wondered if anyone out thee knows where if there is a .config file that I can dictate the percentage of battery life before being considered critically low. ei now it seems to consider itself low at 15% which robs me of about 2 hours of usage id like to set it around 1%

I installed Apache server with Debian 5.0.2 Lenny. I am trying to write a script which would analysis web log files. I found the log files on /var/log/apache2. There is an access log file, `access.log`. My question is what configuration file determines the location and the name of the access log file. How can I change them? I used CustomLog in /etc/apache2/apache2.conf like below.LogFormat ": %h %l %u %t "%r" %>s %b" common
CustomLog /home/test/my_log_file common Apache2 generated /home/test/my_log_file. But no logs were written in the file even after I run `/etc/init.d/apache2 restart`. Ichanged the log file location. It still didn't work. However, Apache2 still wrote logs in the file `/var/log/apache2/access.log`

I opened GParted to create a new partition on a new drive. He wanted me to create a partition table first which I did, and it was created directly without any prompt like im used to see when creating partition. So I recognized too late, that i actually created a MBR on one of my 6 1TB raid5 drives. Not beeing sure if the ne MBR was really written, I have opened ubuntu disk utility and clicked on the check raid button. It directly made a resync. After the resync, mdadm --detail /dev/md0 told me everything is ok and synced. Then I wanted to mount it with:
mount /dev/md0 /mnt Then I get the following error: "mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/md0, missing codepage or helper program, or other error In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try dmesg | tail or so" I think I just killed my raid5 ;(
I shouldnt work on my server when im tired and when I actually have no time ;( My last hope is the fact, that "Disk Utility" shows that there is a .0 TB ext4 volume on my raid (see screen below) [URL]

My old PC has new life thanks to Ubuntu 9.1. However, a few small problems still remain:
1. D-Link wireless adapter: My wireless connection percentage never seems to get higher than 70%, even though the wireless router is right outside the door. And to top it off, I can see other neighbor's networks and the signal strength is higher! I am running ndiswrapper if that helps, and the connection is WPA/WPA2, speed of 130 Mb/s which is great, but can I improve the signal?
2. If I leave the computer on and come back after a while, the monitor is black, and I can see that the wireless connection is still going, but I can't seem to "wake up" the computer. I have messed with the settings, but have not attempted anything in the terminal. Can someone provide a simple fix? I would like to Suspend or Hibernate, but they don't work (meaning, I can wake up the computer). So I have resorted to simply logging off each time, which works.
3. Watching streaming video using RealPlayer, many times the screen freezes, and I am unable to navigate to anywhere else on the computer. Meaning, the mouse moves, but cannot open, close, change, do anything on the computer. Ctrl-Alt-Dlt doesn't even work to pop up anything. Is there a less abrupt way to Force Quit than holding down the power button on my computer and restarting the whole thing? I am sure that is not too good for the computer.

I've installed Ubuntu Server, and Webmin following this guide, and all is well so far... I've mounted some drives with some pre-existing data on them, and can view the data on those drives. But I have one drive that I can't seem to mount, and I'm pretty sure there's data on it. But I can't seem to find how to identify what format the data is in, ie.. ntfs, ext2, ext 3, etc. Its likely pretty simple, but how can you identify the drive format before you attempt to mount it?

I just built a new 10.04 server. It has a 500Gb drive for the operating system and a 22 Terabyte drive that will be used for data. When I format the data partition, it only shows 2.2Tb available. I have this formatted as ext4. I know there is a 16Tb limit and I am going to repartition my drives, but shouldn't I at least be seeing 16Tb instead of 2.2
