Fedora :: Opera Puts A "crease" In Web Pages / Resolve This?
Jul 15, 2010
I updated Opera to:
Version 10.60 Internal
Build 6386
Platform Linux
System x86_64, 2.6.32.12-115.fc12.x86_64
Now, web pages are displayed with a "crease" in them. This is a horizontal section where a small part of the page is missing. There is often a white line across the screen there. The same pages that have this problem under Opera are displayed correctly using Firefox.
Is there a simple fix for this problem or is it part of the improvments to the new version of opera?
I have a Cent OS 5.4 32 bit final installed in my dedicated server.
I used to run lighttpd with php in my server until now and all was fine. But yesterday I changed my website which needs apache to run. So installed apache using yum install httpd command.
Then I added the virtual host name of my domain in webmin panel but when i try to run my php script in browser then its not opening php pages.
Instead it downloads php files like index.php when i open in browser. So I guess apache is not able to compile and run php pages. Only html pages are opening right now..
I recently started having a strange problem: whenever skype makes a sound, e.g. when a contact logs in or out, rhythmbox puts itself into paused mode. this is even reproducible. when I go in to the skype settings, sound devices, and click on "Make a test sound", rhythmbox pauses whatever song it's playing. here's some debug output:
I'm doing a project on an embedded board, and would like to put the version number, compilation date etc. onto the splash screen and a few other places. The splash screen is a .bmp image. Any way to do this from a script? Are there any command-line tools that let you do this?
I have done multiple net (http) installs of CentOS from a USB stick, and each time the installs appear to go fine, but the machine cannot be booted unless the USB stick is inserted. The net install files are replaced with a syslinux directory by the installer. I thought that I had taken care during install to tell the installer not to put anything on the USB stick. This particular machine (Varari 1U server) has no optical drive, so for now I'm using the USB stick.
Does anyone here know how to get the installer to put everything on the HD? I unchecked the USB stick when the partitioning screen came up and yet it still stuck what I assume are boot files on the stick. Be gentle, I'm a developer, not a Linux guru.I have a second question as well. One reason this machine does not have an optical drive, is that I can't get the damn cover off. If anyone here knows how to get the top cover of a 1U Varari server off who's release buttons appear to be stuck,
How come t'bird is putting mail marked as trash in the junk file? Also, somehow I've got two subfolders in junk, one "trash" and one "junk". How can I delete these? I've tried every way I can think of.
First of all I want to tell you that I'm not used to working with fedora so don't exlude 'noob solutions' out of your answers.I've downloaded the latest opera from their site and tried to install it. When I did this using the given script it asked me to install it in the base directory /usr/ . I had my doubts but I agreed. (Does it have to be installed in the root directory? / )Now when I trie to run it, I receive the following message:
[Kurt@localhost ~]$ opera /usr/bin/opera: line 240: /usr/lib/opera/10.10/opera: cannot execute binary file /usr/bin/opera: line 240: /usr/lib/opera/10.10/opera: Success
When I start a reply or a reply to all email, the template that is used keeps on putting the cursor after the signature, when I want it to put it at the beginning of the email. I am using the default template.I have done a google search on this and it is supposedly fixed, although I could not find out in which version.I am running KDE 4.3.5, KMail v1.12.4.
I've installed Sun's Java and set it up so that is working in Firefox. But recently Ive changed to Opera, and was wondering how to set Java to work with Opera. I've already marked Tools>Preferences>Advanced>Content>Enable Java.
I just installed ubuntu 9.10 server edition (twice, just to be sure) and the installation ran fine, but when I try to boot into the system, i get past the BIOS loading screen then my monitor just goes into power saving mode and I can't get it to see a signal from the PC. I know the OS is running, because I can ssh into it from my laptop, and I know the monitor works, because that machine had a windows OS on it before and that worked fine with the same monitor. I had thought it might be a graphics card thing with ubuntu trying to push out at a resolution not supported by the monitor, but I find that unlikely as it's brand new this month. If anyone has any idea of something I can try to diagnose the problem, that would be great. As I said, I still have ssh access to the PC, so I can basically try anything on it that I could if I was physically at the box itself.
I'm trying to run my program that distributes grades and puts it in a table. The code compiles but when I run it I get a Segmentation Fault. I'm still new to arrays, but I think the issue is where I'm trying to make the table. Here is my code:
Code:
#include <stdio.h> #include "constant.h" int readValues(int[]); int findMedian(int[], int);
I'm bring up a new Fedora 14 server, retiring my Solaris 10 x86 server. While I'm waitng for SATA cables to arrive for the RAID configuration, I decided to try and install opera (which I've been using for years and years). I downloaded the opera-10.11.gcc4.shared.qt3.x86_64.rpm. But, when I try and install it, I get the following problem (rpm -i):
opera-11.11-2109.i386.rpm From opera's webpage. Installed with double-click. Asked for root permissions... the standard way of installing. Neither CLI 'opera' nor the GUI's menu -> internet -> opera does anything!
when i make flash videos fullscreen, it puts black bars at all around and the video is the same size as before. this is using Firefox. this is driving me crazy and NONE of the various workarounds on the forum work.
I used the 32-bit install of Fedora 11. I just remember my Comp is 64-bit, so Of coarse Fedora is only detecting 3 out of 8 gigs of ram, is there a way to fix this without re-installing?Im also having trouble getting software ( Opera, filezilla, etc) and for some reason software sources are not being detected [URL]
I am using Opera 10.60 browser for the past one month. Generally it use to take about 20 seconds to startup but since yesterday its taking more than 40. I don't know about the exact duration but certainly its taking a lot of time now.
I searched alot & tried installing flash plug-in but none has yet solved the problem. it's currently installed but doesn't work in opera & firefox. Moreover I tried removing it & re-intalling it with yum & rpm but the problem persists.
Just installed Fedora 12 x86_64 and love it. But just noticed I'm missing all of the section 2 man pages. Is there a package I'm missing that contains these?? I've got all the standard development packages installed already, and works fine. One example is the gettimeofday() call that works fine in my code, but there's no man page for it.
Ive just install Midori, and overall I like this browser. But certain pages aren't loading in Midori. Like this forum, Fedoraforum.org. On exactly the same laptop, I can open this page with Firefox. How can I fix this?

I'm very new to Linux, and I have ran a Windows XP server before, with a Apache2 Server software for Windows. and didn't have any problems with it, but I really want to set this server up with Linux.
The server is running, but the only thing that comes up in the browser, is the html pages, the pages call all the images from a folder /images/ but for some reason I can't get it to pull the folder up. None of the graphics show on any of the pages.
I also have a VirtualHost setup, and have another website set up in the DocumentRoot with the 2nd site, but it won't come up ether, even tho it is listed as the 2nd VirtualHost, and have that folder set up as the DocumentRoot.
I'm just using IP Addresses for now till I get this all sorted out.So if I enter the IP the main page comes up, just no graphics. if I enter the IP Address/2ndSiteFolder/ I get a directory listing with the 2nd site folder listed, so now if I click on the 2ndSiteFolderName, it comes up as IP/2ndSiteFolder/2ndSiteFolder/ Now the 2nd site comes up, and so does all the Graphics for that site, even if I go to some of the other subfolders site. So its just weird. I don't know what I need to do to get this to work right.
I know it has to do with setting up the folders for VirtualHost, I just don't know what it is. I have been working on this for a week, and I'm not getting anywhere..
I have just exported 3 png files out of gimp for a html document I'm working on right now, and they are all almost the same, except I need each to load when the user does something. So the first image will display on the page, and when a user puts their cursor over it, then it will load image 2. When they press it, it loads image 3.
