Right now I am using Fedora 10. and I am downloading Fedora 10 by torrent. My problem is that if my system monitor show me that I have downloaded 90 MB then ktorrent showing 30 mb so I am loosing lots of MBs. When I as using windows and utorrent that problem never happens. How to over come that?

View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter I finish a download in ktorrent, the torrent stops seeding.
A couple of notes: my download speeds are fantastic (~6mb/s), while my seeding during download is about 60kb/s. However, this seed speed seems to fluctuate a lot from about 3kb/s. Once the download completes, the seed goes to 0kb/s, and the torrent doesn't find as many leachers. For now, after I finish downloading, I re-download a portion of my download at a limited rate of 1kb/s so that the seed continues.
Lastly, I am currently running through a VPN server, however I this issue happens even if I'm running a normal connection.
Friend of mine without broadband asked me to download the latest stable release of Mandriva. I started the download with KTorrent and after about 45 minutes came back to check progress and found that the ETA had gone up to around 10 hours for a 4.3 odd GB .iso. Wow thats a long time., I checked network utilization using the graph is System Monitor and we were running around 80 KB/sec. Paused KTorrent and opened Firefox, telling it to download the .iso from the ,edu site. I was very surprised when network utilization went to around 1000 kb/sec and the time to finish was much less (according to the Firefox download manager I have 13% of the file on hand and time to go is 1 hr 11 minutes). I had always been under the impression that any torrent client would be a lot faster than a straight download.......
The ISP here is Comcast. We pay for 6 mb down and around 2 up and routinely get it. The machine is a core quad with 2 GB of RAM. OS is OpenSuse 11.2-64 bit.
So what gives here. Is the torrent site that much slower than a straight download?? Or or could it be something the ISP is doing with torrent activity? I dont know enough about network protocol to know but I found the time difference and the amount of network utilization very surprising.
Am using proxy server as squid. In squid am using proxy_auth.Is any way to get the download size details for each & every users from access.log?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI m using squid 2.7 Stable 9 and Dansguardian 2.10.1.1, i have compiled both squid and dansguardian, i have enabled follow_x_forwarded_for in squid to make clients IPs visible to squid, i have also set x_forwarded_for=on in dansguardian, this is working fine and clients ips are visible to squid. Now i want to set down-loadable file size limit upto 50 MB in squid by using the acl reply_body_max_size 52428800 allow mynetwork for every user except few users the above acl is not working properly. mynetwork is our private network which is 192.168.0.0/16.
When i set the acl reply_body_max_size 52428800 allow localhost . it works fine but only for localhost. I want to allow upto 50 MB down-loadable file size to every user in my network except a few users whom will have access upto 500 MB down-loadable file size.
Just added a new disk. 160GB. Created the PV and VG and LV and Filesystem Mounted it and it is reporting a value that was the original value and not the extended value I have added.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a ubuntu 9.10 box that is acting as my firewall. ETH0 is connected to a cable router and my eth1 nats out it. I have br0 bridged to eth1 (private). I am able to ping from my openvpn client into my network but not from a boxon my local network to the openvpn client I watched the firewall and nothing is being blocked on any device. I checked the arp table on my firewall and it does not know about my vpn clients. Any idea's why my vpn clients are not adding themselves to the arp table?

I have a issue in that my 30gb creative zen is showing up fine as a media device, I can delete and add files. It is showing up as z 3.9gp partition. I formatted inside the Zen I formatted inside Windows Vista It showed 28,800ish megs free and it still showed up at a 3.9 gig partition There is no .trash folder How can I fix this? Qlix installed don't know if that matters.
View 1 Replies View Relatedusing ndiswrapper for a usbwlan device. Configured and modprobe ndiswrapper confirmed working. When I 'iwlist wlan0 scan'I get cell (wifi network) profiles including my own and several of the neighbours - all showing ssid name and whether key managed or not. When I 'wicd-client' this shows my network as hidden. What makes it even stranger is that wicd-client shows all the neighbours network ssid. Check to see if my router is broadcasting ssid and is without a doubt. I have tried to connect to my router via CLI commands (iwconfig) but unable to connect as is wicd-client - will update with log files on this soon.

I know this probably doesn't bother people if you've got 50mb internet and unlimited downloads, however, I have 3.5mb, and a download limit!

I thought there's something wrong with the internet connection in spite of that everything else works well.. I tried upgrading in different times in different days, I redid the process again today and I got the same error again. Is there any other way to upgrade or ignore this package?
