Apr 14, 2010I'm using vsftpd on my server. When I connect (using file-zilla) from other computers on the same network I can't download any files. I can upload, create directories, and delete stuff, but I can't download. I've disabled anonymous access and enabled local user log-in. My /etc/vsftpd.conf

Fedora :: KTorrent Client Showing Different Download Size?
Nov 9, 2010Right now I am using Fedora 10. and I am downloading Fedora 10 by torrent. My problem is that if my system monitor show me that I have downloaded 90 MB then ktorrent showing 30 mb so I am loosing lots of MBs. When I as using windows and utorrent that problem never happens. How to over come that?

Nov 26, 2010I m using squid 2.7 Stable 9 and Dansguardian 2.10.1.1, i have compiled both squid and dansguardian, i have enabled follow_x_forwarded_for in squid to make clients IPs visible to squid, i have also set x_forwarded_for=on in dansguardian, this is working fine and clients ips are visible to squid. Now i want to set down-loadable file size limit upto 50 MB in squid by using the acl reply_body_max_size 52428800 allow mynetwork for every user except few users the above acl is not working properly. mynetwork is our private network which is 192.168.0.0/16.
When i set the acl reply_body_max_size 52428800 allow localhost . it works fine but only for localhost. I want to allow upto 50 MB down-loadable file size to every user in my network except a few users whom will have access upto 500 MB down-loadable file size.

If so, since none of the other users will actually be working on the Ubuntu Server, how do I disable the other non-admin users on the Ubuntu Server login screen. I am using Webmin to administer some server settings, and command line for others.

Oct 28, 2009Alright I have read through and tried many different tutorials but a VAST majority of them are with virtual users. This is my own personal email server so virtual users is unneccessary when I can just use the users personal mailbox.
My postfix main.cf there are 2 things I am unsure of. 1) For system users which local_recipiant_maps do i use? 2) What should mynetworks be?As I have been testing it out through telnet I can send mail but it doesnt get to my test email (a gmail account) and when i try to send an email locally it seems that everything works fine but the mail doesnt get there, and the error i am getting is that it cant find the user.

Apr 24, 2010When I try to add a user to samba (using the GNOME UI) in F12, after enter all the information and click OK.it will just hang for about 20 seconds, and then do nothing. Window is still there, I click OK again and same thing.heres the steps i followed:
1) click preferences, Samba Users...
2) click add user
3) select user "joe" (example) from drop down of users
4) enter "joe" windows user name
5) enter password for joe (same as user password)
6) click OK
7) hangs 20 seconds then nothing.window is still there.click OK again same thing no user added

Apr 21, 2010I found 2 previous posts, one from 2005 and one from 2006. The 2005 post was not very helpful and the 2006 threads are not exactly what I was expecting. So I wanted to ask the question to be sure. I have already stood up the new fedora 12 server. The old server is also fedora 12. I need to migrate local users and sendmail mailboxes. In the past couple of years the environment was small enough to create a copy of the users and then have the users mail themselves, but I want to start migrating users/mailboxes properly.
On a unix level I am a jr admin, but I have extensive senior level experience as a windows engineer and network engineer. I do feel comfortable with using the unix command line, but usually operate the unix systems thru webmin because I am not familular with more complex commands. Ideally a software solution to migrate users and/or mailboxes from one server to another is what I am looking for, but in leiu of a software solution I still need to migrate user accounts and their mailboxes. LDAP is not in place, but if the process becomes easier with LDAP I am willing to do what is needed to set up LDAP. (I have no previous experience setting up LDAP)
I do not want to change my mail server from sendmail to different software. At least right now. Both systems are up and running. They can connect to each other via public ipv4 address' only. The new server has already been installed and configured with all the software to match the old server. How do I migrate users and sendmail mailboxes from one fedora 12 server to another fedora 12 server?

Jun 19, 2011I have Ubuntu 10.10 installed and a few weeks ago I tried upgrading to 11.04 using "Update Manager" BUT I got the following error after a few hours of fetching all the files from internet except for one

The upgrade has aborted. Please check your Internet connection or installation media and try again. All files downloaded so far are kept.

I thought there's something wrong with the internet connection in spite of that everything else works well.. I tried upgrading in different times in different days, I redid the process again today and I got the same error again. Is there any other way to upgrade or ignore this package?
