View 2 Replies View RelatedSorry to post an answered question, but this site is google favorite, and I would like that this goes as easy as it can be for other users, so I'm hoping that if anybody searches for Epson Perfection V100 Photo for linux or Fedora Epson Perfection V100 finds this page. All the trick is to go to [URL]..
Install:
xsane
sane-backends (I installed this, but IDK if is necessary please some1 confirm this)
Download:
iscan-data-1.6.0-0.noarch.rpm

When I was running FC10 my scanner just plugged in and worked. I must have lost something.
lsusb returns:
dmesg sees it. sane-find-scanner says:
scanimage -L returns:
And of course xsane/gimp say Not Avail. I've made sure all the (yum) sane sw is loaded and updated.
I just got an Epson Perfection V330 Photo scanner. After connecting it to Ubuntu 10.04, it's not recognized by XSane and Simple Scan. The relevant lsusb output:Bus 001 Device 008: ID 04b8:0142 Seiko Epson Corp.Google does not yet know "04b8:0142",.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've installed the epkowa backend for the V300 scanner. Communications from Chuck56 and Alien Bob were helpful. The core, data, and esci-interpreter packages are installed, epkowa.conf and dll.conf seem properly configured. sand-find-scanner, lsusb, scanimage -L all report correctly. xsane works normally, and iscan initializes, and produces a preview image. scan however fails citing 'not enough space for operation,' although GBs are available. When iscan is closed, these errors are reported:
libpng warning: Application was compiled with png.h from libpng-1.2.8
libpng warning: Application is running with png.c from libpng-1.4.5
libpng warning: Incompatible libpng version in application and library
My system is running Slackware v. 13.37, Linux v. 2.6.37.6-smp.
I switched from Sidux to Ubunbtu Lucid yesterday. On Sidux I had to struggle a little but to get this scanner working but at the end everything was fine. However on Lucid no success, I googled around and followed different instructions found in the www. sane-find-scanner and scanimage -L can find it (but it takes some time for scanimage -L) however I cannot scan and the scanner also does not react at all. The reaction of iscan and all the other scanning software is not consistent, error messages vary. A am thinking about switching back to some older Ubuntu version in case that I cannot get it running, I need the scanner in order to send fax

I'm running OpenSUSE 11.0 (64 bit). I have an Epson Stylus Photo R300 printer that used to work just fine. Apparently there was an update to the CUPS software that I applied and now the printer is no longer working.
Through examining the error_log file in /var/log/cups I found that two files were missing from /usr/lib/cups/filter. These files existed in the /usr/lib64/cups/filter directory so I linked them to the /usr/lib/cups/filter directory. That cleared up two errors.
When I send a "Print Self Test Page" command from the CUPS Printers page, I get the following error:
Returning IPP client-error-document-format-not-supported for Print-Job (ipp://localhost:631/printers/EPSON_Stylus_Photo_R300) from localhost
When I attempt to send a print job from an application like gedit or OpenOffice Writer, I get the following error:
Returning IPP client-error-document-format-not-supported for Send-Document (ipp://localhost:631/printers/EPSON_Stylus_Photo_R300) from localhost
I've crawled all through the openSUSE forums and 'googled' all sorts of variations for these errors and found nothing useful. I'm hoping someone here might have a clue as to where I might go next to fix this.
Like I said, it was working before and now it's not so there must be something in a recent CUPS release that has messed things up.
i use linux OS with ubuntu and i have installed my printer (epson stylus photo tx650) but when i print it prints black pages on and on and doesn't stop, though if i print using my windows xp laptop and using the same USB cable, it prints, hence this shows me that some settings on printer configuration are not well set and i fail to know which are these settings. its only printing i cant do but i can scan and even photocopy.

since lamaresh is not being updated anymore and the wine packages from the official Debian repository are quite old there isn't really much choice for getting a recent version of wine anymore. Since I don't want to use the carbon project or the Mempis repository, as stated here, (at least yet) I have decided to build the package myself. Unfortunately I would like to have a 32bit version but am running a 64bit version of Debian Squeeze. When I run ./configure I get the following message at the end.

i recently buy an MSI 770-45 motherboard with 4gb (2x2gb) Gskill 1600Mhz Ram. The CPU is an athlon2 x4 620, everything tested and working fine except i can`t get lenny or squeeze 64bit linux running because of kernel panics when creating ext3/ext4 partitions during install or running fsck on the system i installed on another PC and moved to this one. The boot shows a screen related to IOMMU problem saying must enable it in bios but no option related to it and no memory remapping also. The question is how i can get IOEMMU working with 4gb of RAM (if i remove one of the two modules everything is fine). I`ve tryed ioemmu=memapper/off/noagp/soft and any thing i found on the web, moving to test debian installation was my last hope really before starting to use the 32bit one, i am planning to add more RAM which with this version is just can`t be.

running Debian Squeeze (standard 32bit squeeze Kernels linux-image-2.6.32-5-486 and linux-image-2.6.32-5-686) happily without trouble on a 64bit capable Samsung laptop featuring an Intel T3200 Dualcore processor. However, when I try to boot using the squeeze 64bit kernel (linux-image-2.6.32-5-amd64) the system proceeds through a few text lines immediately after Grub, and then performs a warm start.
The text output I get immediately after Grub look similar to the ones I get booting the 486 and 686 kernels, without any indication for the reboot behavior. The rebooting also seems to happen before any entry is written into the boot/system log files (logging is enabled). This behavior also occured when I first tried to prime the machine from the Debian squeeze install CD using the amd64 kernel. I'm generally happy with the 32bit kernels, but I'd like to use the amd64 support to do some Java compatibility testing for 64bit architectures.
The Laptop is a Samsung R510-Aura T3200 Delfina with the following Hardware and Setup (using Grub as boot loader):
- Intel Pentium Dual CPU T3200 @ 2.00GHz (see http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=37160 for details)
- NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GS
- 3GB RAM + 1GB reserved for GeForce
- Konfiguration Details:
-- Phoenix Bios
[Code]....
Maybe a strange BIOS-Setting that works with the 32bit kernels but not with the 64bit kernel? I've seen a post on here that indicates someone is running the amd64 kernel on a T3200 successfully, and the chip is definitely 64bit capable, so the reboot behavior is a complete mystery for me

At the time I did this, the lastest dropbox version was 0.6.7.
