There is this server that I have just put with Bugzilla. It needs Image::Magick module for rendering bmp or other image types to png to save some disk space and compress the images.
The best way to install it is using CPAN repos. And it gives whole lot of errors. I am attaching the file for errors.
But if try to install from cpan console it says Image::Magick is already the recent version.
Code:
And this is the bugzilla error:

I am using Debian lenny (kernel 2.6.26-2-686).
I changed my menu.lst to use
root=UUID=<long uuid string>
instead of the good old
root=/dev/sd...
I did that because, if I boot with a usb drive attached to my computer, sda become sdb and therefor nothing works anymore since my friend Kernel can't mount it's root partition. BTW, it works wonders using the UUIDs. The story darkens each time there is a kernel update, dist-upgrade resets my menu.lst back using the /dev/sd... format. and BANG... no more booting again. I am good to change my menu.lst back each time.

Ubuntu 9.04 server (64bit)

(2) 320 WD HDD - RAID 1
After coming home one evening I found my server was turned off. My suspicions lead me to believe we had a storm and the power went off, then the UPS went off and finally at that point the server went off too. I think my server was set to allow security updates. After it turned of and restarted it seems it made a change to Grub and upgraded it to Grub2. In doing so I now get the following message:
Error 13: Invalid or un supported executable format
I have tried to do the following:

This solved the problem for me, from > url
Quote:boot from the live medium and chroot into the Linux installation:
$ sudo mkdir /mnt/linux
$ sudo mount -t ext4 /dev/sda1 /mnt/linux

Then, the following command should resolve the issue. :
$ sudo grub-install --recheck /dev/sda

I have just installed a Canon Pixma iP2200 on Fedora 14. The installation 'seemed' to go OK but whenever I try to print anything I get the following error:
"There was an error during the CUPS operation: 'client-error-document-format-not-supported'."
I have done a bit of searching and the only advice i could find is to uncomment some lines in /etc/cups/mime.convs and /etc/cups/mime.types but I don't have either of those files!

A neighbor of mine just got a Canon Pixma MP450 printer, to replace an old HP printer, and I am trying to get it to work with Fedora 11 installation from a machine they have borrowed from me. The printer gets recognized upon plugging it in but when I try to print a test page from the printer properties I receive the following error:'client-error-document-format-not-supported'
The driver that is selected for the printer is "Generic Driver" I have tried to select a driver but have not found any Canon drivers from the selection dialog box. After searching the web I see mention of a Canon MP150 driver working for the MP450 but I have not found this driver. Is there a driver I have to install from YUM or download from Canon? Are there others successfully using this printer and if so what have they done to get it to work?

I've been using python's PIL (import Image in py2.5) and the command line utility ImageMagick to add text to images and compose images. I can't figure out how to get the composed image not to crop. That is, suppose I compose A onto B to create C. A is short and wide, while B is tall and narrow. I'd like C to be tall and wide, but instead it has the same dimensions as B.
The width of A is determined by dynamic text. My current solution is to get the width and height of A and B, and then create a maximally sized image, T, onto which I compose B and then A.I'm just wondering if there is some way to streamline this. Can ImageMagick do this for me? These operations take a non-trivial amount of time.

Oooookay, so basically the idea I have is that I would like to boot Windows XP over an AoE connection. This is no issue, however the problem comes when I want to have a single, read-only image as the base image and want to be able to boot multiple computers off this image.Licensing issues aside (let's assume that this complies with all licensing issues, or we can think of it as just a conceptual "how could we do this"), the basic issues are thus:Each boot of Windows will require a writable AoE device...The original disk image must be read-only to avoid changes in 1 boot affecting all boots(As far as I know) The AoE device must be a disk image, or some block device rather than a mounted file system (if this is not so, aufs could be used)So the long and the short of this, from what I can tell is that we need a read only device that we can write to.
At the end of a session, the changes to the device will be discarded, so these can be thought of as simple temporary sessions. This means that there is little concern with having changes to the original read-only image effecting the modifications to the "duplicate" images.
I would like to avoid duplicating the image for each instance, however if no solution can be reached then this could be a possibility (every boot, we can copy the image, give the fresh image to the new boot and remove when done)Optimally, changes to the filesystem will be written to a different filesystem (much like what aufs does, however as stated earlier, afaik aufs only deals with 2 mounted file systems, whereas we need the end result to be an image or block device)Sorry if I havn't explained this particularly well, however I've been trying to think of solutions, caveats and generally how to define the problem as I was writing. If you think that this idea is ridiculous because software x handles the problem better, I'd be very pleased to hear about it, but the basic requirement of temporary, network bootable windows xp sessions still applies.

Situation: I have to install multiple SUSE linux installs onto blade servers without cdroms.
Goal: Create a bootable USB drive that contains multiple DVD Isos. Upon boot, a menu is displayed that allows the choice of several OS installs.
Problem: I just can't figure out how to format syslinux.cfg to load my specified iso image. Here is semi sudo code for what I want to do with my config:
sudo syslinux config
label <any label>
menu label install SLES 10 x86
kernel linux
append <path_to_iso=/sles10/dvd1_x86.iso> autoyast=10x86.xml
code....
Googling tells you quite a bit about syslinux.cfg, but it doesn't reallyt tell you how to load specific file for installation.

Ive been trying to PXE boot a XEN kernel image in gzip format, and I was getting Invalid or corrupt kernel format error. Ive seen that other kernel images having a file type of Linux kernel x86 boot executable RO-rootFS are bootable. (both are bootable using grub anyhow).
Is there any way to convert the b/n the formats, or any other solution?
I was booting a Virtualbox instance, again I guess that shouldn't matter because pxelinux loads from tftp properly, but it doesn't even proceed to load the kernel. I think the issue here is with the image format itself rather than what it contains, or where it runs.

I have just upgraded to 11.3 and work in icewm (I have kde apps installed but no other desktops). When I boot up the computer it gives me this console error message:
Code:
kernel: [time] sisfb: Mode 'none' not supported anymore. Using default.
kernel: [time] sisfb: Fatal error: Unable to reserve 16MB framebuffer memory
kernel: [time] sisfb: Is there another framebuffer driver active?
Apart from that I'm not exactly sure what the problem is. The computer isn't displaying immediate symptoms to me. I checked the hardware sticky and when I have a few hours I can work through
HTML Code:
http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Configuring_graphics_cards but I don't have that kind of time at the moment, so I wanted to check that that was the route I should be going down before I did. I googled this stuff but everything seems to start from a knowledge base above mine and leaves me clueless.

I know the problem is somewhere around glib libpng area but don't know where..originally had a problem with /etc/gtk-2/xxx.loaders missing, fixed that but still have the second half, load thunar from console, cannot open fallback icons ... unknown image format i've recompiled glib (2.25.?) same problem, using old ish libpng and libjpeg, everything else is pretty resent. sorry for lack of exact errors etc not at computer at mo, I all have links installed, and when trying to 'display' a image on command line, it gives a view of image as if loaded in a text editor.
