Software :: Reference List Of HTTP Header Info?

Apr 8, 2011

I've been searching Google for a bit now, and either I'm too stupid or too tired to figure out the perfect search term for it.Im looking for a reference list of HTTP header info -- e.g, I have a program on Firefox that I can modify to send any header info i want "Safari, Mozilla, Internet Explorer" that sort of thing -- so a web site will believe Im using IE when in fact I am using Firefox.Does anyone have a reference of what the available "official" headers are? Also, a list of "OS header" responses would be nice, so I could fool something in believing I am a windows 3.1 machine.

General :: Compiling New Kernel - List Of Current Modules

May 25, 2011

I'm trying to compile a kernel for my Crux Linux install. I figured I'd do a 'make defconfig' to setup a .config file with the default configuration and then try to add anything I will need for my specific system. I found a script that scans my system and prints out a list of any current modules I am using. That way I can make sure to add these to my new kernel. It looks something like this:

Code:
ac.ko.gz
agpgart.ko.gz
ata_generic.ko.gz
ata_piix.ko.gz
battery.ko.gz
button.ko.gz
compal-laptop.ko.gz
dcdbas.ko.gz
dell-laptop.ko.gz
drm_kms_helper.ko.gz
drm.ko.gz
ehci-hcd.ko.gz

Is there a way to add these to my current configuration without having to go into 'make menuconfig' and search for each one? It's not too hard to search for many of them. But the ones with short names I'm not finding. Like ac.ko for example. 'ac.ko' returns 0 search results and 'ac' returns anything and everything with those 2 letters in it.

Networking :: Craft A Valid Http/1.1 Request For Getting Http Headers (not The Html File Itself)

Sep 27, 2010

Using netcat, nc(1), craft a valid http/1.1 request for getting http headers (not the html file itself!) for the main index page of www dot aalto dot fi. What request method did you use? Which headers did you need to send to the server? What was the status code for the request? Which headers did the server return? Explain the purpose of each header.

nc -v www dot aalto dot fi 8080
HEAD / HTML/1.1
host: www dot aalto dot fi
And it returns:
200 OK
Content-Length: 858
Content-Type: text/html
Last-Modified: Thu, 02 Sep 2010 12:46:01 GMT
[Code]....

I really don't know what does it mean. Question 2: Using netcat, nc(1), start a bogus web server listening on the loopback interface port 8080. Verify with netstat(, that the server really is listening where it should be. Direct your browser to the bogus server and capture the User-Agent: header "Direct your browser to the bogus server and capture the User-Agent: header" I don't understand this question.

I made some changes to apache (creating some new virtual sites) and since then Nagios gives me a warning message for HTTP with the message, HTTP WARNING: HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found. The sites that I created are working perfectly. I noticed that the attemps are 4/4. Does this need to be reset or does Nagios automatically reset that once it detects the issue is resolved?

Debian :: Gvfsd-http Leaves Many Connections Open

Feb 22, 2011

Looking at the results of both `lsof | grep IPv4` and `netstat -tp` I noticed that I have a lot of connections open from a program called 'gvfsd-http'.

Using google, I found that this was a Filesystem something from Gnome, that would also be used If I drag something from my browser to my desktop.

Though I wonder, how I activated it, because I didn't do that...

After a bit of searching, I noticed that `screenshots.debian.net` uses the same IP address as the one noted (hades.car.gr).

PING screenshots.debian.net (78.46.20.5) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from hades.car.gr (78.46.20.5): icmp_req=1 ttl=56 time=55.4 ms

Question: Do I have some tool enabled that maybe sends statistics to debian or so? Where to find it and kill it.

Debian Configuration :: Both HTTP And HTTPS On Same Server? (Apache Virtual Hosts)

Oct 30, 2015

How to best manage both http and https pages on the same apache-server without conflicts. For example, if i have both 000-default.conf and 000-default-ssl.conf pointing to mydomain.com, and don't want users who visit mydomain.com without specifically type the https-prefix to be redirected to the https-page - how to handle users using browserplugins such as https-everywhere etc?

Another option would be to create a subdomain ssl.mudomain.com and have users who want to reach the ssl site to have to type ssl. I have tested several things with https everywhere enabled in my own browser, and it seems really hard to make this working the way i want, in one way or another i always end up getting redirected to the ssl-site automatically.

The reason i need this to work is because i run one site that i don't care much about SSL, that is the "official" part of that site, and i also host some things for friends and family on the SSL-part. This would not have been a problem if it wasn't that i use self-signed certificates for my ssl-site and the major user become afraid when a certificate-warning pops up in their browser and therefor leave the site.

Debian :: Building A Current Ffado-svn Package?

Mar 13, 2011

I am currently working on making a audio interface work with a otherwise working debian desktop (its actually AVLinux, but its Debian for all intents and purposes). The problem is, the current version of ffado-svn installed (1949, from the experimental repository) has a bug with the firmware on the interface (an Echo Audiofire8) preventing me from using high sample rates, so I need to install a more recent version of ffado-svn.I am wondering if there is anyway I can build a current version of ffado-svn into the appropriate debian packages. While I am not familiar with debian, I am familiaux (I use Arch regularly). I have tried messing around with downloading the svn source and downloading the source files from however, my lack of knowledge of the building process in debian has rendered me unable to have success so far.
