Nov 4, 2010I'm getting an md5 checksum error during updating. Using the update manager. I'll post a snapshot.

OpenSUSE :: Update Repository Has Checksum Error
Feb 13, 2010I have a problem. When I start Yast, and it tries to download the update repository, there is a checksum error. The problem is, that this error is always there, it occured about 2 weeks ago and never disappeared. When I change the update repository to a specific one, I chose a german one, there is still that checksum error. If I say yast I want to still use the repository with the error, there comes another checksum error, if i say i dont care about that one either, it says

Debian Configuration :: How To Update The Clamav
Jul 10, 2011My probles consists in that i have no idea on how update the clamav. I downloaded it throu center of software. Butt when i try to upgrade it from the gui the upgrading bar reaches only 15% and desapears. I tried do type freshclam from root command line but it just writes that there is not such command. May be i use incorrectly the command line.

Jan 31, 2009I am writing a program which modifies source IP address of packet before writing this packet to tap interface. I face only one problem with tcp checksum. I have current checksum, to get new checksum, I add new source IP address and add one complement of old source IP address. That is, I update checksum with difference of old and new source IP address. It sounds not bad but does not work.

Feb 21, 2010I updated one of my x64 notebooks that has been offline for about a week. There were several updates needed. Towards the end of the update I got a message something about could not complete update because one of the updates was waiting for another process/update to complete.
I verified that it was still trying to update by opening terminal window. After I closed the info box which had a white minus sign it it and reran to check for updates, it said everything was up to date.
How can I be sure that the update in question was applied? Unfortunately don't remember which one. Is there a checksum run at the end of the updates to unsure the update is properly applied? All seems to be working fine.

Software :: Clamav Update Using Clanscan -d Daily.cvd
Mar 3, 2010I have a server that is installed with clamav but is not directly connected to internet. Is it possible to update the virus database with following command:
clamscan -d daily.cvd
where "daily.cvd" is the current file available from clamav's website.
Would that change the entire virus database to just that file, or will it update incrementally based on what is already in virus database? Do I need to update main.cvd and daily.cvd as well?
Note, using command "freshclam" is out of the question because I cannot directly connect machine to internet.
OpenSUSE Install :: Getting Image Checksum Error?
Dec 28, 2009I am attempting to do a new install of OpenSUSE 11.2 x86-64 by burning a network install disk. I am having trouble getting it to work on my hardware however. Whenever I boot up with the disc, I get a "image checksum error." I have tried to redownload the image and also reburn it. The disc will boot in VirtualBox but will not boot on the machine. I do not understand what could be causing this because the CD drive in the machine is working just fine.

Apr 4, 2010Im currently trying to update my Suse 11.1 copy of Linux.
I got some messages that Clamav was not up to date.
I tried to use YUM which I installed on the machine but that did nothing.
It seems that I can only update Clamav by using Klamav.
Whats happening is that the system is telling me that its going to recompile Clamav, starts doing various tasks but doesnt really work.
When I use YUM on my CentOS 5.3 server it simply updates Clamav to the current version and then I use Freshclam to update the virus definitionsdone.
My questions is this; is there anyway to get the latest version of Clamav without going through the that Klamav thing. Klamav seems O.K. for updating the virus definitions but thats all.
Whats wrong with all the Linux software people?
Cant they just get their act together and make their software work. Im also trying to set up a mail server on my Suse 11.1 box but between figuring out how to install Postfix, Dovecot, Cirus-IMAP Im not getting anywhere.
As much as I hate to say this, these things only seem to be rocket science on Linux. I have much less problems installing software on Windoz.
Linux software people need to come up with workable install programs for their software products so more people who arent software experts can make Linux really workable.
OpenSUSE Install :: Checksum Error On Burnt Dvd Of 11.4 64 Bit Version?
Jul 22, 2011I have downloaded the opensuse 11.4 64 bit iso both as a direct download and as a torrent, and the md5sums for both iso images are fine.
I tried burning both, and for both of them they fail the checksum installation media test for the actual dvd.
(dvd title openSUSE-DVD-x86_640024)
I burnt them on a 32 bit Pentium 4 machine running suse 11.3, and am trying to install on an Athlon 64 3000+.
This may well be a stupid question, but do you have to burn a 64 bit iso image on a 64 bit machine, or should I be able to burn it on a P4 ok?
I should add that I had tried installing one the dvd's first, and got a lot of failed packages and ended up aborting the install.

Aug 12, 2011I am trying to install Unbuntu 11.04 on a Via raid 0. I have windows already setup and it boots fine, but Ubuntu does not see the raid set. Running dmraid -ay (or any valid switch with dmraid) returns :

ERROR: via: invalid checksum on /dev/sda
no raid disks
mainboard is Asus M2V, with 2x Hitachi 250Gb disks in raid 0 configuration set in BIOS. I have a 3rd hard disk on the onboard Marvell 88SE6121 sata controller but this is not seen at all by Ubuntu either. I was thinking of installing it here if Ubuntu does not work the RAID, but no go it would seem. I do remember installing an earlier version of ubuntu on this very same board using RAID 0 (2x 80Gb drives at that time) and the RAID was reconised and worked fine straight from live cd to full install.

I checked my DNS settings, my DNS server, and everything was good to go. I even removed all files from /var/lib/clamav, including the mirrors.dat file, and still no go, got the same errors. I downgraded all the packages, and still got the same thing... Is anyone else having this problem?
Debian :: Kworker Hogging CPU On New Jessie Install - EDID Checksum Is Invalid
May 16, 2015I just installed jessie on a machine that had been running wheezy with no problems. Now I see that a kworker process is hogging nearly 100% of one of the CPUs. I am not sure how to proceed with solving the problem even after doing a number of Google searches.

Sep 14, 2009Is set up a postfix, dovecot + clamav server as described in the wiki. I also use the freshclam update script in /etc/cron.daily/freshclam. But my problem is i get this error message every day:

Apr 16, 2010This started happening sometime yesterday afternoon on a server that's been trouble free for years.
My Ubuntu update is scheduled to run every month on the 5th, so this was roughly 10 days after that. So it seems to me it's not update related. The only thing I've done on the server lately is update a spamassassin rule which required an amavis restart. That was done earlier in the week.
I've already reviewed issues at [url] and all the conditions are correct for the more recent How to.
I can also confirm that, in fact, /var/run/clamav/clamd.ctl does not exist.
