Jul 31, 2009i have a skystar 2.6d card.i set everything in Kaffeine and when i search the channels it finds some but when i click on the channel to watch it nothing appears.even in properties of selected channel the frequency is showed up something else. For example the freq of channel Y is 12345 but in the properties of the channel it shows 57329 without any video pid and audio pid.

May 4, 2011i used to watch bloomberg tv online at [url] well in ubuntu 10.10 (64bit) but recently after i upgraded to ubuntu 11.04 (64bit), it doesn't work any more. it is just loading forever.also i noticed that the flash player in [url] changed recently. as the way it loads is different than before. the weird thing is that i can still watch videos. not sure if it's the 11.04's problem or bloomberg's problem.

Ubuntu :: Dual Channel Failure & Single Channel Errors
Jun 25, 2011PC seems to run fine in single channel mode but monitor reports no input in dual channel mode and memtest86+ lists from 1-3 errors per pass in single channel mode. Motherboard (Gigabyte P43T-ES3G) can't be set for the 1.65 volts required by the RAM (2x2 of OCZ3P1333LV4GK PC3 10666). The mobo voltage choices are 1.6 or 1.7 volts. I have tried both and increased the MCH voltage from 1.1 v to 1.2 v, but so far can't get it to run in dual channel mode at all and single channel mode seems to run fine but I still get errors in memtest86+. Also tried optimized Bios settings and loosened memory timings (from 7-7-7-16 to 8-8-8-27 and tRFC 60 to 70) and reset Command Rate from 0 to 2. CPU is Core 2 Quad @ 2.4 Ghz, PSU is rated at 400 watts, Video card is Gigabyte GT220.

When I try to use airplay-ng for the packet injection, it always gives me the error " wlan0 is on channel -1, but the AP uses channel 6". I've tried setting wlan0 to channel 6 manually, but that doesn't help. I spent a while searching for a solution, but it seemed like each page had a different, usually highly complex solution, that still doesn't work. I have the most recent drivers for my wireless card, and it meets all the requirements. So, is there any solution to this that will actually work?

Banshee & Rhythmbox try to play music files at double, or more, speed with no sound output. Spotify Linux version also tries to playback at double speed with no sound output. Media Player attempts to play music files at high speed. Media player plays the Video and audio tracks at high speed. VLC Will play the video at normal speed but with no audio.

Oct 17, 2010I've just installed Slackware 13.1 in two different laptops for first time. I have some strange internet browsing behaviour in one of the laptops. I've installed 2 internet browsers(firefox,opera) using the directions from Slackbuilds.org and there is also konqueror pre-installed. Moreover I installed Wicd network manager.
I can browse some pages e.g. ..... with firefox very slowly but NEVER facebook. I can browse almost any page, even facebook, with OPERA but very very slowly. The same goes with konqueror... Wicd shows that i am always connected with my WPA wireless network

Mar 19, 2010found one other post with this same issue, and the final reply was "I give up"...I got a fresh 9.1 install. I just want to record some audio, but it's only recording on one channel, the left channel.I tried audacity and sound recorder. checked the sound preferences, Hardware set to Analog Stereo Duplex. In audacity Preferences > Devices > Recording, 2 (Stereo) is selected.When recording in audacity the output meter for the left channel shows activity while the right channel looks like it goes up a little bit but doesn't peak like the left channel. I hear fuzziness in the right but all the sound is in the left

I have a checked to make sure that nothing is muted, and I do have sound over the rear channel when I change the wiring on the physical machine. However, I get no sound over the headphone channel. I also changed the conf for pulseaudio to have a default of 2 sound channels. In addition the sound works fine in my Fedora 13 and Win 7 installs, this is a triple boot machine .

Feb 26, 2011When I'm on Vista (I dual boot by the way) I see that my hard drive is about 13Gb smaller than it used to be, but I have no access to Ubuntu's files. However, when I am on Ubuntu I have access to a drive (is it a drive?) I believe is called OS and when mounted it lets me access all of Vista's documents.
Also I do not understand the difference between /home, OS, and System Files (It might be named something else, but the icon looks like a hard drive I believe).
I realize all this is pretty vague, but do you know a way to block this connection? I feel like Harry Potter looking into Voldemort's mind (lol).
PS Despite the Voldemort reference I am not a MS Windows hater.

Jul 14, 2010I was hoping that upgrading to 10.04 would fix my problems with sound and HDMI but alas it doesn't. I have an HP dv7 that I wish connect via an HDMI cable to my HDTV and play things like Hulu, Boxee, etc. with the sound coming out of my home theater system. I know that the hardware is capable of doing this because I have Windows 7 installed in a dual boot and it has no problems with pumping sound down the HDMI channel.
I've upgraded to Alsa 1.0.23 freshly compiled. With 1.0.23 I see HDMI settings in Pulse Audio Volume Control. However if I start say VLC and play a video, check pavucontrol and make sure the Playback is set to the HDMI channel. I can hook up the HDMI cable and I can see the video playing - but no audio. I've been in and out of all kinds of things like alsamixer, gnome-alsamixer, sound preferences, etc. and I've toggled things on and off in an attempt to get HDMI sound working but nothing works.
In alsamixer if I hit f6 I see my 0 card as HDA Intel and my 1 card as NDA NVidia. If I select NVidia I see only S/PDIF, S/PDIF 1, S/PDIF 2, S/PDIF 3. I can only mute or unmute these. I've tried both - nothing works. Let me know what sort of output/info you need and I'll post it. Here's some info I've seen others post:

Jul 26, 2010i just installed ubuntu 10.04 on my computer, and tried to airodump, but noticed that its stuck on 11th channel, when i specified only channel 6 during scan, it gave me hosts from channel 6 and 11, but then i ran aireplay-ng and it runs on 11th channel as well, even when i put my card into monitor mode with a specific channel option. btw my chipset is AR9285 with ath9k driver. everything worked in backtrack. i also tried to reinstall aircrack which did not work.

Sep 22, 2010I'm relatively new to Ubuntu, and have just installed 10.04 on a toshiba portege M100 laptop. Having got over the intel video chipset problems I tried to connect to my WLAN. Network manager would not connect. I tried switching to WPA, WEP and no encryption. No effect I still could not connect. I also noticed that network manager can find other APs much more quickly than mine.Haveing done some searching I tried removing network manager and installed wicd. Was good at finding the AP but reported it as operatingon channel 0. Still would not connect. I tried changing the AP channel to 6, suddenly everyting worked. I switched back to network manager (wicd got in a tangle over hidden networks). Still works.
Having scoured the web for help I found reference to 10.04 kernel suporting US channels. and that I should create a file /etc/modprobe.d/cfg80211, containing "options cfg80211 ieee80211_regdom=EU". I have tried this and it doesnt have any effect. I have noted that there are numerous variants of this advised by different people.Whilst at home I can operate my AP n a US channel, when I am on the move I cannot. Mar 12, 2010I just checked [Mar. 12, 2010 16h:00 EDT], there is no update in the (Canonical) channel for Open Office. I regularly download updates both automatically as well as manually, Yet my current version is:
OpenOffice 3.1.1
OOO310m19 (Build:9240).
On my mac OSX 10.6.2, I already have 000320m12 (Build:9483).
Why is Canonical taking so long to place the newer version in the channel? My reason for seeking the update is to try and resolve a problem that I have just noticed today. I have not needed to print envelopes since January, and now I find that printing envelopes on my HP C4345 multifunction no longer works as before.
Instead of putting the output on the RIGHT side (where the envelope is fed), OO is consistently sending the output to the LEFT side (easily confirmed by placing a standard letter size sheet in place of the #9 envelope, which (the latter) invariably comes out as "blank" (no print on it).
I am hoping that an update will resolve this issue before I resort to submitting a bug report.

May 22, 2010It seems that when I start up any video in VLC recently that it automatically opts for the left only audio channel. This means that I have to go into the audio options with every movie or show I watch and switch it to stereo mode. I was wondering if anyone knew a way to get VLC to automatically start up in stereo. The videos I have been watching have stereo audio so that is not the problem. I have worked though all of the advanced audio options and I haven't found a way to be able to set this up.

Jun 28, 2010I have a PowerPC installation (fully patched) of Ubuntu 10, and I pulled down the MythTV suite on top (since there is no Mythbuntu/PPC that I found). I'm having an issue where after I scan for channels with my tuner using mythtv-setup, I can't set the starting channel number. Its almost as if nothing ever populates into the drop down. This seems to be specific to the combination that I have - Ubuntu 10 + PPC + Myth 0.23. If I use another x86 + Myth .21 and the same Tuner (HDHomeRun), I can set the starting channel fine. A Mac OS 10.4 + Myth .21 also allowed me to set the channel. I've rebuilt this install twice now and it won't allow me to set it. I can see the scanned data in the mythconverg database, so I know its there.

Feb 2, 2011I am trying to audit my wireless router due to someone in the neighbourhood hacking it, and have run into a few problems. When I run airodump-ng, everything works fine. However, when I try to get the .csv file and run "airodump-ng -w test --channel 6 --bssid ---------- mon1" (obviously with my the mac address of my AP instead of x's) I get this:
CH 6 ][ Elapsed: 4 s ][ 2011-02-02 17:48 ][ fixed channel mon1: -1 ] The problem is the [ fixed channel mon1: -1 ], because when I go to the next step to try to force a handshake, it says:
18:00:34 Waiting for beacon frame (BSSID:-----------) on channel -1
18:00:34 mon1 is on channel -1, but the AP uses channel 6
I have scoured the Internet for answers, and have seen several people with the same problem, but no solutions that work for me. I think it may have something to do with the driver. I really do apologise if this has been answered properly several times, but none of the solutions seem to be working in my case.
