View 2 RepliesI have a new install of Karmic on my system with a flyvideo 3000 tv card installed. My problem is that it doesn't find any radio channels and the input channel is completely wrong. I don't have any sound on gnomeradio and can't find the config files to change the input channel. The only input option available to me is dig1 - can anyone point me in the right direction?
I have already read the Howto for this tv card and changed the device to radio0 in the setup. I have setup tvtime perfectly with sound channel as well as with a 5.1 surround configuration. I am missing my favourite radio channel. and I want to get rid of my windows installations once and for all! Update: I did a system update and some things have changed: the radio tower graphic on gnomeradio is now green (I assume it is getting a signal) but no sound yet.
I want to stream a radio station that uses .cfm . I've tried a lot of options but without success. Anyone have experience with cfm?
I can stream other stations using vlc media player and even Adobe flash player. But no success with this cfm stream.
I get the following error when I try to play my local radio station via firefox with Kubuntu 9.10:
Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (mms) isn't associated with any program.
I have Flash, and the Gecko Media Player plugins installed.
how i can get this to work? Im working third shift and its so silent it is deafening, i could use a hero
Is it possible to record an Internet radio stream? I don't mean the audio output, I mean the stream itself, which often contains additional data such as track and artist details.
I guess what I'm asking is how to record the stuff that goes /into/ my media player, rather than what comes out of it. But maybe dealing with raw data like this would result in huge files and be impractical?
I'd love to listen to a local radio station while working, but my problem is I can't seem to stream it at all.
The link is [URL], and when I click on the Live Radio link, it leads me to [URL] which contains a player which wouldn't load. On viewing its source, I saw the following:

It's a radio online station and i can't find the way to play it
Ubuntu 10.04 with Media player vlc xmms xine.
I'm trying to get my mom to switch to ubuntu, and she needs this one radio stream to work. For the life of me, I can't get this radio stream to play on any player. here's the web address to it, and the mms address:
[URL]
It's proprietary to windows which sucks, but I've followed a lot of forums where asx streams work. This one just doesn't
I'm on 11.04. I've tried VLC, Banshee, Rhythmbox, xine, gstreamer, etc.
[URL] In Windows just click "Oua ou vivo" (Listen Live) and away you go (WMP). Can also select one of "S os melhore" (Just the hits) and it plays. In Ubuntu I've downloaded Amarok, MPlayer, Rhythm box, Streamtuner, & VLC, but am not going to live long enough to figure out how to stream with any of them (although "S os melhores" plays OK). how to stream this & any other WMP station. No problem with Flash stations such as [URL] by the way.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am wondering if any in the Ubuntu community owns a Carmen Car Radio player by Livio Radio. The program to save internet radio to the device is written in Java, however I am not able to run it either using WINE or using Open JDK.
The Carmen Player does work well with Banshee, it is the internet radio that is not working.
PC seems to run fine in single channel mode but monitor reports no input in dual channel mode and memtest86+ lists from 1-3 errors per pass in single channel mode. Motherboard (Gigabyte P43T-ES3G) can't be set for the 1.65 volts required by the RAM (2x2 of OCZ3P1333LV4GK PC3 10666). The mobo voltage choices are 1.6 or 1.7 volts. I have tried both and increased the MCH voltage from 1.1 v to 1.2 v, but so far can't get it to run in dual channel mode at all and single channel mode seems to run fine but I still get errors in memtest86+. Also tried optimized Bios settings and loosened memory timings (from 7-7-7-16 to 8-8-8-27 and tRFC 60 to 70) and reset Command Rate from 0 to 2. CPU is Core 2 Quad @ 2.4 Ghz, PSU is rated at 400 watts, Video card is Gigabyte GT220.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to crack my wep password just for kicks, but I keep running into the same error. When I try to use airplay-ng for the packet injection, it always gives me the error " wlan0 is on channel -1, but the AP uses channel 6". I've tried setting wlan0 to channel 6 manually, but that doesn't help. I spent a while searching for a solution, but it seemed like each page had a different, usually highly complex solution, that still doesn't work. I have the most recent drivers for my wireless card, and it meets all the requirements. So, is there any solution to this that will actually work?

View 2 Replies View Relatedrecord my radio show from a radio I have plugged into my iMac. That's right. For now, I am dual booting on my iMac until I can afford to buy a dedicated PC desktop just for Ubuntu.
I can't believe that there seems to be no way for me to record my shows from my radio. Works fine when I boot into the Mac side and even when I use Ubuntu using VMware Fusion. When I boot into Ubuntu directly, Audio In in the Sound preferences doesn't seem to work. No audio coming through when I try to record from the radio.
I was hoping that upgrading to 10.04 would fix my problems with sound and HDMI but alas it doesn't. I have an HP dv7 that I wish connect via an HDMI cable to my HDTV and play things like Hulu, Boxee, etc. with the sound coming out of my home theater system. I know that the hardware is capable of doing this because I have Windows 7 installed in a dual boot and it has no problems with pumping sound down the HDMI channel.
I've upgraded to Alsa 1.0.23 freshly compiled. With 1.0.23 I see HDMI settings in Pulse Audio Volume Control. However if I start say VLC and play a video, check pavucontrol and make sure the Playback is set to the HDMI channel. I can hook up the HDMI cable and I can see the video playing - but no audio. I've been in and out of all kinds of things like alsamixer, gnome-alsamixer, sound preferences, etc. and I've toggled things on and off in an attempt to get HDMI sound working but nothing works.
In alsamixer if I hit f6 I see my 0 card as HDA Intel and my 1 card as NDA NVidia. If I select NVidia I see only S/PDIF, S/PDIF 1, S/PDIF 2, S/PDIF 3. I can only mute or unmute these. I've tried both - nothing works. Let me know what sort of output/info you need and I'll post it. Here's some info I've seen others post:

I am on amd64, Lucid Lynx (10.04). Using the latest mplayer (MPlayer SVN-r31042-Ubuntu-RVM).
I'm trying to play a hi-def wmv. I get video and audio, but there is definitely some audio missing. The center channel is gone. I have music and sound effects, but the characters dialog is silent.
I have a problem. I have two soundcards on my system. One is a on-board soundcard and the second is USB M-audio JamLab. When I play sound on any of them, left channel doesn't play

View 5 Replies View RelatedIt seems that when I start up any video in VLC recently that it automatically opts for the left only audio channel. This means that I have to go into the audio options with every movie or show I watch and switch it to stereo mode. I was wondering if anyone knew a way to get VLC to automatically start up in stereo. The videos I have been watching have stereo audio so that is not the problem. I have worked though all of the advanced audio options and I haven't found a way to be able to set this up.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a PowerPC installation (fully patched) of Ubuntu 10, and I pulled down the MythTV suite on top (since there is no Mythbuntu/PPC that I found). I'm having an issue where after I scan for channels with my tuner using mythtv-setup, I can't set the starting channel number. Its almost as if nothing ever populates into the drop down. This seems to be specific to the combination that I have - Ubuntu 10 + PPC + Myth 0.23. If I use another x86 + Myth .21 and the same Tuner (HDHomeRun), I can set the starting channel fine. A Mac OS 10.4 + Myth .21 also allowed me to set the channel. I've rebuilt this install twice now and it won't allow me to set it. I can see the scanned data in the mythconverg database, so I know its there.

Rhythmbox 0.12.5
How does a person determine the URL of the audio stream for a Live365 broadcast in order to create a new radio station entry in Rhythmbox? I would like to be able to access and listen to the audio stream completely from within Rhythmbox.
I've recently purchased HP Mini 210 (about a few months ago) which has wireless accessibility. Unfortunately, internet is not easily accessible from where I live unless you have a home connection (which is quite expensive) or you connect to a Cyber Cafe (not really convenient). I've checked some really good tools like FM Radio and Rhythmbox which require internet in order to stream radio stations directly.I'm quite fond of FM Radio, though recently an old radio broke down and I thought a netbook could help (although I admit I bought the netbook for writing scripts and stories solely). Although it's funny that an old technology can do what's it's meant to do, while a newer one (PC's) depend on internet alone.
What I was wondering is that since HP Mini 210 has a wireless access capability isn't it capable of catching FM Radio waves like an old radio without depending on internet connectivity? If it is capable of it, how do I do that?

I was playing around with Screenlets and would like to use the radio. I can't seem to get it to play any of the default radio stations, also when I add a custom web site I get nothing. The web site I added plays fine with Mplayer, but does not work with the Screenlets radio. I have also edited the Menu.xml for screenlets radio and added the web site I would like to listen to, but nothing. I have also downloaded he restricted extras
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using VLC to listen to a radio stream online. It works ok, but always takes ~2min to actually connect to the stream. I opened VLC up via a terminal and got the following output:Quote:

I am seemingly having a problem with the command "vlc://quit". I have an .sh file which accesses a streaming url. If I leave "vlc://quit" in the .sh file it executes immediately - i.e. supposedly goes through all the preceding commands but closes down (quits) before anything happens. If I take it out everything is fine ( vlc opens, finds, plays/records & stops). But, of course, I'm left with vlc still open.
