When I print a form in PDF format the top 5 or so inches of the page is missing, when I view the page in Print preview the top of the page is not showing either. I need to print and send away this form asap. I just seen the bottom 5 inches of the page is missing as well

I am running 9.10. I have a HP Photosmart 7350 printer. I have it installed and printing. But the issue I am dealing with is that it will print a full page and then print a blank page..then a full page..then a blank page. Actually they aren't completely blank..it shows half of "2 of 6" or whatever page it is on. Like it cuts that in half and prints the 2nd half of "2 of 6" onto a separate new page.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI cannot print pdf files. I have tried using okular and xpdf. The documents display in the program, but print preview shows a blank page. The printer then sends out blank pages. I have tried printing on 2 different printers using usb cables. Using terminal to process the commands shows error:

I initially had a problem accessing the CUPS interface (see my other post) and got that resolved by adding the user "cupsys". Now, everything "looks" ok, and when I print a test page, it shows it as completed (in CUPS). However, the page never prints.
The printer is a Canon MP600 (using the canonmp600en.ppd file to configure it). Here's the output of my conf file.

Not sure when CUPS started acting up. I have the latest 13.1 current software installed.The first page to print is always OK, but all succeeding pages are overwritten. The second page shows the first page on top of it, and the third shows the preceding pages on top of it - and so on. Has anyone else seen this problem?I guess the printer buffer is not getting flushed correctly. If my configurations were trashed in some way, I don't know where to look for a fix.

Unfortunately there are gaps in the information and I would like to be able to print out (two records to an A4 sheet) the records in form format so that I can pass these to the members who will fill in any blanks in the record.
If it is not possible to do what I want from the database I can convert the records to a spreadsheet and do it from there.
i have custom programs written in Basis pro5. Standard output to a pdf virtual printer works fine. Using pdftk to overlay on to a form is hit or miss.... There are products out there like Unform that are just too expensive for my company. i have purchased another product from a company that prints the forms to the laser perfectly but i am incapable of capturing them and saving them as pdf's for archiving/emailing/faxing and i don't much care for this company.

I get the same result if I click "no" or "yes" the boot finishes and every thing seems to work....except the drop-down menus are missing on the panel on the right. So every thing on the left is there I.E. im connected to my router but i cant get to Fire Fox right or left clicking on the panel wont let me at to the panel so how do i get my panel back?Oh and the bottom panel is gone too. not really sure this is an upgrade problem but the timing was suspicious.
I have a rather large image that I want to print onto several pages. How would you recommend doing this? I've been copying sections and printing like that using GIMP, and I have had limited success using presentation type software, but is there a faster way of doing this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI know my driver works and that cups is up and running, because I can print off test pages to my heart's content, but I can't get any actual documents printed. I'm connected over the network at work to a Japanese NEC MultiWriter 3650n (it seems to be Japanese-only---I could find on drivers was in Japanese). It shows up in System=>Administration=>Printing. I set it as the default printer, and, as I said, it prints off test pages without a hitch. But whenever I open, say, a PDF and try to print it, the document appears to get sent, but never actually prints, and never shows up in the print queue (while the completed test pages do).

I used the PPD file provided by the driver recommended in linuxprinting.org.But when I try to print the test page (or anything else), nothing is printed. According to the diagnostics, the printer status is "Processing page 1...", but it won't go beyond that.I've already tested it, it's fine. But won't work in ubuntu. Don't know what's going on.

I have managed to configure it to the point where I can see the printer listed on my client laptop and can print a test page. However, I cannot print anything else. When I access the job history through the CUPS adminI can see that the print jobs were recognized and marked as complete, even though the printer never physically engaged.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just installed openSUSE 11.4 on my 2 home machines. My home network lies behind a nat router but I still use the external zone setting for my firewalls. In the past to enable network printing between the two computers I opened TCP and UDP port 631. Yast would then see the remote printer, set it up and all was good. This time Yast sees and sets up the remote printer as usual. When I print the test page nothing happens. Checking the cups admin page at localhost:631 on the host machine shows the printer is set up to share but nothing is in the print que. Printing works just fine on the host computer.

If they are not used very often, they dry out, the print heads get packed up, it's an expensive mess to deal with when times comes to run off some prints. I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 a909a. It was working fine until recently. Now when I go to print duplex, the second page is mirrored vertically and rotated wrong.
I suspect that a recent update to HPLIP has caused this, but there may be something else in play with the GS utilities also. The problem is that I have no idea about how to fix this. I was hoping an update would show up and a simple "yum -y update) would fix things. That still has not happened.
I am a student and would like to save paper, at least with my draft copies, but this makes duplex printing impossible.

I am using F14 Laughlin on my laptop HP Compaq6715b AMD turion 64x2. Installation went fine, only problem is with printer LQ680 24pin series. It is not a real problem that printer want print, it just want print 10 or 15 or 20 pages from tractor bin. I get message: '/usr/lib/cups/filter/rastertoepson failed. It stopped printing after every page, send message, I have to cancel error message, then I can print again. All this is happened if I try to print one by one page from front of printer, I just have to print page with command <ctrl>P.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've recently installed F15 LXDE RC from the livecd and connected my USB Brother All-In-One MFC-5440cn printer. After following the Brother installation page, the Cups & LPR drivers are installed but when I'm in the cups page (http://localhost:631/admin), the printer will not print a test page or print from any application. The LCD panel on the printer does show 'receiving data' but nothing comes out. The last version of Fedora I had running was F13 and the same printer worked fine.
Are there any other printer drivers I need to install besides the Brothers? The printer does show up in the Print Manager but nothing prints. I did have this same type of issue with Mageia Beta 1 and ended up installing a2ps, which wasn't included in the original print drivers, and it is now printing. So I had to install a2ps with F15 but still no print output. Something must have changed with the recent distros causing this. After looking at the output of dmesg I see this:

Any idea why it's failing to connect to Cups or any idea how to find out? Is it possible to have too many USB devices connected? I'm using a 4 port usb hub in use and also using a usb mouse/keyboard connected.
