he is used to the regular netbook edition before the unity-style. The small netbookscreen is just not good for this new appbar on the left side (it's one of the old eee-pc's). None of us like that solution, and I wonder if its possible to move the bar on the bottom side of the screen so it will be a bit more Windows 7-ish?

I am running 10.10 Netbook Edition. I added Terminal Server Client to the Unity Menu and I typically run it in Full Screen mode to manage serveral windows based servers. The problem is that TSC displays perfect in full screen (unity tool bar hidden) but when i move the mouse over to the left side of the screen i get the pop-up text balloons from the unity below it. I cannot click on any items along the left edge of the remote desktop window including the windows start key. I want to confirm if this is a bug? and how to report it if so.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo about an hour ago I put my computer on standby. For whatever reason I couldn't bring it back so I restarted it. It works fine except now Ubuntu has pushed my display down. This means that the bottom of my tool-bar on the bottom of the screen is cut off, and there's a black bar on the top. I'm using a T.V. screen so there is no way I can manually adjust it. I also plugged my desktop back into an old monitor and it was off-center downward too.
View 1 Replies View RelatedNo matter how many times I update or install new flash plugins in firefox, I always wind up with 2 versions of the 'Shockwave Flash' plugin. The first is the prevous version of Adobe, the second is the current version of either Adobe, Gnash or Swfdec. I use yum to keep my packages in synch. When a new version of Adobe comes though, it erases the older version of the currently installed plugin, keeps the newer currently installed version, and installs itself as the new version, both versions enabled.
Hope that paragraph makes sense to you, it gave me a headache to write. Further, they must both be enabled for any of them to work, and which ever I use the video is slow, choppy and prone to pausing for no apparent reason. The CPU usage is always pegged to the roof and the sound is often out of synch.
What I'm wondering is whether or not this is the normal situation or if I'm doing something wrong? I've been playing with Ubuntu and have noticed that only one version installs at one time, and the video playback is much better, if still not exactly smooth.

I know how to add programs to the side bar but can't figure out how to change the top bar menus. When I ran 32bit thru a windows vm I had a top bar where I could access the programs and no side bar. I liked it better than the 2 bar setup in my 64bit wubi install. Can it be changed?

When I press the quit or logoff buttons on the desktop it takes me to the logon screen and then at the bottom right corner it allows me to shutdown or reboot. When I position icons on the desktop in specific places, then I choose to move a file or folder into another folder, all the icons arrange back to the left side. Happens pretty regularly, but for example, a moment ago, I was trying to switch to Google Public DNS, in the network preferences, have to click apply/ok but cannot do so as the menu box is larger than the screen. View 4 Replies View RelatedI previously installed Ubuntu 11.04 or whatever it is on my computer alongside windows vista and everything was fine until i noticed the display being all screwed up. I changed it to my resolution and the right side of the display was black (vertical), then the screen would go black for 2 seconds,then come back and it would be a different color. Any ideas? I'm thinking it's the intel driver, maybe it didn't update or something? (Intel Pentium Dual Core) Soon, ill upgrade to a newer intel driver
View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter seeing this conky profile I decided to try my hand at making something similar, as my conky profile looked pretty unappetising.All my conkyrc file does at the moment, is display an image and I seem to be falling at the first hurdle. I would like the image to be flush to the bottom of the screen however it floats about 100px above the bottom of the screen.Screenshot attached and conkyrc file below. Does anyone know how to fix this?

My problem is I cannot make the bars come up by moving the cursor via my finger. It works fine if I move the pointer via a mouse but that is not an option when in tablet mode. How can I make them come up when I move the cursor to their location via my finger?

The problem I'm having is even with the user name selected with a password box displayed, there's no bar at the bottom of the screen in GDM. I prefer GDM instead of KDM because I like the fact that I can select a user even though I'm the only user, but I do like the behavior of Windows XP/Vista/7 (select a user, hit enter, enter the password, and hit enter to login, but that's not as close to how KDM works if there's only a single user in the system -- no big deal).how do I get the bar appear in the bottom of the screen after I select the user in GDM?

Boot sequence is starting, CD is spinning, HDD is blinking but after few seconds little picture appears on the bottom of the screen with "a keyboard key = person in a circle" ?? I can remove the panel once logged in but it still appears on the login screen (showing a clock and choices of WMs, etc). I want my end user to see nothing on the login screen but my custom background and the box where he types his username and password.
