View 3 Replies View RelatedMy problem is that in the System Tray, my Wifi indicator won't move. It is stuck to the upper-right hand corner. When I right-click on it, there is no "Move" option. I provided a picture to show where it's stuck.
I am using Ubuntu 10.10 32-bit with a GNOME Environment.
Just upgraded my FC12 to 13 using preupgrade. On booting up into 13 my panel at the top of the screen that normally holds the menus/system tray etc doesn't seem to have initialised. It's just not there.I had a message about "no system tray detected on this system" which I assume is from one of the applications trying to start up in the systray.I've not found anything obvious in the logs, but then I may not be looking in the right places.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter upgraded to 11.3. Do a operation that active a network node, the Knetworkmananger will active a display on "Task Bar" (see figure 1). And it can't be minimized to "System Tray Panel", just can't be minimized to "Task Bar".
And the network list display pops up without all display some time (see figure 2), it's very boring.
If I kill the Kneworkmananger and restart it again, it will just have a Icon on "System Tray Panel" normally. But if it change to another network node automatically or I change it by clicking the icon, the display on "Task Tar" will appear and can't be resume to "System Tray", just like mentioned above.
I don't know why have this problem, I tried to reinstall the Knetworkmanager, but the problem also exist.
The volume control in the Gnome panel system tray has disappeared from my wife's Ubuntu 10.04 system with the master volume set to zero.I was able to restore sound via System->Preferences->Sound master volume, but this is not particularly convienent. How do I restore the panel volume control? (the speaker icon on the panel, between the Network arrows and Chat/Mail setup icons).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've just returned to KDE after a long absence, and am wondering if there is a panel, system tray, or similar applet to disable/enable the screensaver. I know I can go into system settings, but what I'm after is something that's one click. It's for when I'm watching stuff like iplayer.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSomeone on the forums had me uninstall pulseaudio to get pSX working, and now I don't have a volume control icon on the panel and when choosing to add stuff to the panel it isn't available.I re-installed pulseaudio through the package manager, but I have a feeling it didn't install everything that uninstalled with it.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have had this problem with all installations of Maverick Meerkat. Moving the default clock from the upper panel to the lower panel makes it bahave strangely. When clicked on, it now appears in the middle of the screen (sometimes even higher depending on resolution). This never happened prior to Maverick Meerkat.
How do I go about to fix this strange bug?
Attached is a screen shot of what I mean.
For Ubuntu 10.04 LTS / Gnome 2.30.2.
I have two applets on my Gnome panel -- NetworkManager Applet 0.8, and Klipper (it works better than Glipper) -- that I want to move.
HOWEVER, right-clicking the panel icons does not enable me to move these applets, as follows:
- NetworkManager Applet 0.8 does not include a Move item in its list of options.
- Klipper displays a long list of Klipper options but no Move option.
How I can move these items to new locations on the Gnome panel?
Does anyone have a clue as to how to make the top and bottom panels transparent in 10.4 xubuntu?
There are no options in the settings menus to set this - none that work ffor me anyhoo. And 'right clicking' on the panels does not give this option.
Maybe a command line, er, command?c

View 2 Replies View Relatedhe is used to the regular netbook edition before the unity-style. The small netbookscreen is just not good for this new appbar on the left side (it's one of the old eee-pc's). None of us like that solution, and I wonder if its possible to move the bar on the bottom side of the screen so it will be a bit more Windows 7-ish?

I don't know but just one day after I restarted my ubuntu 10.10 pc. Probably after an update. Dropbox no longer shows up in the top panel. I also had a thing called googsystray, that no longer shows up either. I can see the process dropbox is running.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm on Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid. I need to find the icon image files used by the Gnome panel tray apps, specifically, Banshee (see attached screenshot). It's not in /usr/share/pixmaps, as that banshee icon is used for the panflute launch button, not the Banshee tray icon. I imagine it would be where all the other tray icons are (volume, battery, etc). I'm looking for it so I can try editing it to fix the white background.

View 2 Replies View RelatedEverything was working fine and on a new session the panel and bottom bar are no longer showing. I am running xubuntu latest version, with compiz fusion and emerald. I always have to reload windows when i start as I have made it default (perhaps thats part of the pb). Just before it disappeared I installed new updates from the automatic updates. i know i can still access pretty much everything from the right click but the pb is that i can only run one application at a time. as i cannot flip between them nor does the cube or alt tab work.
