Ok on the tool bar at the bottom of the screen that arrow you hit and it expands and shows all the things running essentially, it has a clock and such, somehow it is now on the left how do I move it back to the right?
View 4 RepliesSo about an hour ago I put my computer on standby. For whatever reason I couldn't bring it back so I restarted it. It works fine except now Ubuntu has pushed my display down. This means that the bottom of my tool-bar on the bottom of the screen is cut off, and there's a black bar on the top. I'm using a T.V. screen so there is no way I can manually adjust it. I also plugged my desktop back into an old monitor and it was off-center downward too.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had this problem with all installations of Maverick Meerkat. Moving the default clock from the upper panel to the lower panel makes it bahave strangely. When clicked on, it now appears in the middle of the screen (sometimes even higher depending on resolution). This never happened prior to Maverick Meerkat.
How do I go about to fix this strange bug?

I have Virtualbox running on Windows Vista, and Debian running inside Virtualbox. Everything's running great, for the most part. Everything looks correct.
But when I'm in full-screen mode, the top edge seems to act (to the mouse) like it's the bottom edge, and the left edge seems to act like the right edge. For example, if I click in the middle of the desktop and drag left, as if to select some icons, when I hit the very leftmost pixel of the screen, the selection (but not the mouse pointer) jumps to the far right edge of the screen).
For the left edge, it's not such a big deal, but not having the top edge is kind of annoying: it means I can't select things from the menu in my top panel by slamming the mouse against the top of the screen.
just upgraded to 10.04 - everything seems to be working OK apart from the 3 icons (close, min & max) have moved to the top left of the windows.
View 4 Replies View RelatedToday my minimising, maximising, and closing buttons on the window border moved from the right to the left without any apparent reason. (At least i dind't ask them to). The other computer I work on didn't change though.
I use Gnome, Dust Sand theme on 10.04.
I really dislike having them there, how can i move them back where they belong?
How do I get the close minimize maximize buttons back on the right? I looked in appearance, and all of the little previews of the themes have them on the right, but they are on the left when I apply them. Is there any way to change them back? this is very frustrating.

I may have clicked on something, but my bottom tool bar totally disappeared and I'm not sure how to get it back. Before it disappeared, none of the windows I had opened were showing up on it either.
To reiterate, I'm not sure what I clicked on to make it disappear, for the most part it just did... :-/
I was using the 9.10 distro and just upgraded to the 10.04 distro. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it either.

I was trying to switch the menu tool bar from the top to the bottom which I successfully done, however the tutorial that I followed first said to right click and delete the lower tool bar. I thought the tutorial would eventually give the instructions to recreate the open window/page tabs in the top of screen but it doesn't. Now each open page overlap each other so I have to collapse each page to see what id below each one.
Firefox is fine, its just when opening up multiple programmes on the desktop.
I'm fine with the 'Terminal' if there's some code to recover this area.
how to fix firefox?? The problem is when i am in fire fox the toolbar with where you can maximize, minimize and close firefox is gone and i cannot figure out how to bring it back. As well, the bottom tool bar is not assailable till i close firefox. I am using firefox 3.68

The monitor configuration app always want the primary monitor to be on the left hand side, thus it always extend my desktop right. When I press the quit or logoff buttons on the desktop it takes me to the logon screen and then at the bottom right corner it allows me to shutdown or reboot. I would like to bypass this screen entirely,and just shutdown reboot from the desktop. Only I use this machine at home ,no none else needs to log on. Is there any way to do this?

I see black color trough half of my display. I can go blindly in upper section without being able to see, and from time to time click the shut down bottom. Do you any of you have idea how to fix it? Ubuntu rocks, I love it, very stable, solid rock.I twill never use anything else.

my setup is: Asus p5q-e,
4 gig of corsair dual ram,
ati 4850 graphics,
onboard audio.
ahci mode
win 7 installed on intel ssd, and xp on a samsung 320 gb sata 2,
i had this configuration running fine for 2 months without boot loaders,
on pc start up i choose from which hdd to boot from.
i installed ubuntu on the samsung drive where it was recognised fine, wiped it all and installed automatically.
pls let me know if there is anything i missed, and advice if possible in what to do.

Happens pretty regularly, but for example, a moment ago, I was trying to switch to Google Public DNS, in the network preferences, have to click apply/ok but cannot do so as the menu box is larger than the screen. Is there a way to scroll down or make the window smaller so that I can click buttons outside standard screen.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have just noticed a nice feature in Windows 7 - when you drag a window to the edge of the screen (the mouse pointer must touch the edge), windows offers you to resize the window to exactly half of the screen size. This is actually very handy on the wide screen monitors.

After seeing this conky profile I decided to try my hand at making something similar, as my conky profile looked pretty unappetising.All my conkyrc file does at the moment, is display an image and I seem to be falling at the first hurdle. I would like the image to be flush to the bottom of the screen however it floats about 100px above the bottom of the screen.Screenshot attached and conkyrc file below. Does anyone know how to fix this?

The small netbookscreen is just not good for this new appbar on the left side (it's one of the old eee-pc's). My problem is I cannot make the bars come up by moving the cursor via my finger. It works fine if I move the pointer via a mouse but that is not an option when in tablet mode. How can I make them come up when I move the cursor to their location via my finger?
