Ubuntu :: Light Blue Background That Says "Package Configuration" With A Grey Text Box Titled "Configuring Sun-java-jre"?
Mar 19, 2011
I just installed 10.10 and am trying to install java. I opened the terminal and got java and the install went fine. Then the terminal turned into a light blue background that says "Package Configuration" with a grey text box titled "Configuring sun-java-jre" and then has the java license agreement.I pressed enter assuming that would accept the agreement but it did not. How do I accept the license agreement so the installation can continue...?

When i try to install Fedora 15 on a clean machine it freezes as soon as the pixelated load bar with the white, light blue and dark blue colors show.
I have tried several different versions of Fedora (64bit and 32bit) and have tried to burn it to a CD and/or DVD (For the larger version) and copying it to a usb pen with universal linux usb, liveUSB creator (from Fedora) and last one i don't remember the name on.

I just tried installing OpenSUSE 11.1 onto my Playstation 3. I installed the otheros.bld fine (which I downloaded via a link provided on the OpenSUSE website). I then inserted my 32-bit Gnome CD for installation and restarted my system. Then on startup, a blue/grey screen appears. Here are the links to the screenshot (sorry for poor quality):
[Full Screen]
[url]
[Top Half]

[Bottom Half]

As you can see, the only option is for me to select the gameboot, which obviously takes me back to the Playstation XMB. There are keys at the bottom of the screen, but this is only to change the resolution. So I have no option to install the OS.
Does anybody know why this screen appears and have any ideas on how I can get around this problem to install SUSE onto my Playstation?

I have a Hewlett-Packard HP Pavilion dv6000. I had no issues before the upgrade, but after, my wireless driver refuses to turn on the wireless at all. I've seen in most of the posts, people can see the wireless networks but not access them. I can't even get my little orange wireless (off) light to turn blue (on). The "additional drivers" option in "administration" was a bust and I've tried reinstalling the kernel from my original disk iso.
Here is my wireless info:
Code:
03:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4311 802.11b/g WLAN [14e4:4311] (rev 01)
I currently have the STA broadcom driver enabled and all I can do is use a cable for internet right now.

This has been bothering me for a very long while now, but not enough for me to bother asking about it. I've looked up about the grey background in the tray in lucid, but I can't find anything where all my icons have the wrong background. This happened after I upgraded from karmic, and the problem only exists with the new themes.

I tried changing my tooltip background to a lighter color so that I can read the font, or to something that has some contrast with the font, but I have been unable to do so. What am I missing? Seems like a rather intuitive operation. I haven't been able to do so as of yet. Could I please get some help with this.I went to Settings > Appearance > Colors, and changed the setting. But, the change was not reflected in my windows. How come?

I just installed Fedora 13 on my HP HDX 16 laptop (and accidentally corrupted my vista partition by resizing it so I'm pretty much stuck now. ^_^)
The light for the wifi toggle button constantly flashes between blue and orange (normally meaning the wifi card is on or off). Does anybody know how I can fix this?

My wallpaper, regardless of what is chosen, flashes to blue/green (like an old Win95 desktop color) every 10-15 seconds. It stays that way for a second, then goes back to what is set. Also, it seems to 'fade in' to the blue/green, then fades back to the chosen wallpaper (albeit a very fast fade). Icons on the desktop are unaffected.I've tried disabling all desktop effects, and it still does it. The only way to stop it is to reboot, which seems to fix the problem for 24 hours or so, then it starts again.

I just migrated from debian to Centos, and I have a problem i cant resolve. If you go to [URL]... you will see the blue background on the images links, that shoudlnt happen, i checked css and html and its all correct, feel free to check it if you want to but theres no problem there, there is a "border="0"" that should work but it isnt. It was working good on debian, and I dont have the original httpd.conf by the way.

I find the window shadows a little phony against a light background. Not a big deal, but just curious if there is a way to change this. Tried through Compiz, but that didn't actually change anything.

make my own home server to play with. While reading a guide I found out about a package of software called Amahi. Very easy and yet so powerful says the site. That's what I need! I looks cool and indeed pretty easy. I already start smiling because I have this old Ubuntu 11.04 computer here. Then I see that Amahi runs best on Fedora 14 and that the support for Ubuntu is still in Alpha phase. No problem, let's install F14 then. I put everything right in the BIOS. I downloaded the DVD iso image, burned it and put it in my drive. Nothing happens, soon I realise that drive only accepts CD's. I quickly change it with a CD/DVD drive of another computer, but still nothing happens. Then I read about this LiveUSB thing. I do everything needed and change boot sequence to Removable. It still keeps booting Ubuntu on Hard Disk 0. My last resort: Fedora Live i686 iso on a CD. Things go as expected. What am I doing wrong? I just want to see that (probably) blue background of Fedora booting instead of that purple one of Ubuntu.

I'm a big book lover so I read a lot. On windows I used Alreader for it's incredible handyness & it had a smooth lite brown background color. So it was easier for my eyes to read books in rtf, txt & so on formats instead of the default white background which is very annoying. Can you please suggest me a software like that for linux?

I have an annoying text color problem. I don't know what to change to fix it. I have played around with System->Preferences->Appearance to no avail. Here is the problem: I am getting very light colored text so only the currently selected item is readable. The funny thing is that in Nautilus, Firefox, Chrome, Amarok, etc.. it's fine. It seems to be in only some programs in boxes with selectable line items, but also in the area that displays status updates in FileZilla. So I'm not sure how to pinpoint the problem.

Other applications will run in the background just fine, but when I run my java application, I cannot change the status of the process from "Stopped" after suspending it.

There were [1]- entries, but I removed them for simplicity.

I am learning some Java programming, and I've run into a problem. I am trying to set a background for JFrame, so that I can put text and buttons on it. I've tried searching the internet, and the only code that I found that was a full code (I lost it, and don't remember the link) had so much other stuff, such as text and buttons, that I couldn't find the part I needed.

I recently got an upgrade from my mobile broadband provider (3 UK) that included a ZTE MF112 modem. I found that (unlike the Hauwei modem that preceeded it) this item did not work "out of the box". After a bit of googling around I decided that a good starting place would be to upgrade the OS on my laptop. I've been meaning to do this for a while anyway so have just installed Squeeze (the i386 version, on Thinkpad x61). I think it's now pretty close to working "out of the box" but annoyingly isn't quite there. I thought of getting a ZTE modem to work say that usb-modeswitch needs to be used to make it not load as a cdrom. However, it appears to load correctly without any alteration (in fact, adding the /etc/udev/rules.d/zte_eject.rules file I have found described appear to do the reverse and make it load as a storage device - at least an icon for it appears on screen).
lsusb correctly lists it as device 19d2:0031 and identifies the device as a ZTE MF636 (though it says MF112 on the package). Looking at the Network Connections tool there is an entry for 3 mobile that is, afaik, correctly configured. If I click on the network applet on the toolbar, there is a bit of contradiction: towards the top of the drop-down list it reports mobile broadband as not enabled, but further down under the "available" list is an entry for "3 internet". I haven't paid too much attention to the not enabled entry because it also reports the wired network as not managed, so maybe this is just a quirk of network manager. - I know you have to comment out eth0 entries in /etc/network/interfaces to have network manager deal with the interface in Squeeze. There are no entries for the mobile connection in the interfaces file.
If I click on the 3 internet entry the applet goes momentarily into trying to connect mode (the circling dot) but very quickly pops up a Disconnected box, and that's all that ever happens. I note that the light on the modem stays permanently red. On the old Huwei it started green but went blue, and I think I read something about it also changing colour on the ZTE. On the other hand, the Hauwei didn't show up on the network manager list until the light had turned blue, whereas this does seem to be there. It looks as if the problem is something fairly trivial since the device appears to be both recognised and (almost!) correctly configured. How to sort this.

I'm running openSUSE 11.2 kde on msi wind u123. Everything runs fine except that whenever i try to shutdown or restart system i see both splash background and the rolling text. I think i should only see the splash with the progress bar until shutting down finishes. But for no apparent reasons i see both which is very annoying.
It might help that i changed the splash screen to a custom one. Here is the one i use and i followed every single instruction.

I recently set-up a MUSH (Multi-User Shared Hallucination), which is kind of like a MUD (Multi-User Domain/Dungeon/etc.). Basically, it is a text-based RPG for roleplaying games the old fashioned way from back before the dawn of GUI/graphic user interface. I would like to embed an application into my website to allow players (who don't want to download and run a separate mud/mush client program) to connect directly from the website. I came across this: [URL]
Though, I have not been able to set it up to work with my site. Perhaps because that is a MUD app and not a MUSH app? I don't know if that is relevant. It is basically a telnet type of connection, and that uses Java, though I'm not sure what else there is to it. Does anybody have any input on how I can get the text-based RPG accessible from a website?
