I was wondering whether there is an inbuilt logging system in UNIX?
I ran and installation and the program opened up automatically but I can't find the program executable.
If I could find a log then I could locate this file.
A 32-bit program (Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client) appears to be trying to load a library from /usr/lib even though the 32-bit library is installed in /usr/lib32:

When I click to download an interesting pix, for my editing hobby, I get this here pop-up after saving the pix:
"The program executable (null) could not be found. Make sure that ClamAV/ClamWin is installed properly and check the Fireclam settings."
I searched Yumex for Clam and Fireclam, and they aren't installed, and I don't want it installed, because Clam slows-down the operation a lot in these prehistoric old towers...
Seems I installed a peripheral for Null and Clam, but what could it be..? I've searched through Yumex.. I just can't figure it...
I installed all the "nulls", hoping that would eliminate that irritating pop-up.. It didn't... Seems my only option is to reinstall the OS to get rid of the pop-up.. Is there another option?..
I have a program that generates large amounts of apparmor log messages. I'm happy to enforce restrictions on the program but I really don't want it to fill my log with messages every time it attempts to read a file.
Is there a way to let it enforce restrictions but not log denials?

Trying to load ubuntu 11.04 and error message comes up cannot find autorun program. how do i get the program on my computer so i can download the upgraded version of ubuntu I have tried rebooting and many many other things. it loaded just fine on my desktop right over my pc linux os.

I just installed Ubuntu on my brand new system that I built. I put in my cd for my HD 5770 video card, and an icon shows up on my screen XFX_VGA_V9.8C text under it.
However when I try to access it in anyway, I try to open with autorun prompt, I get a message "This medium contains software intended to be automatically started. would you like to run it?"
I click on run and get "Error autorunning software, cannot find the autorun program."
Is there anyway that I can run this disk. It's important for setup. I cant copy the disk to the desktop, I get errors.

I'm trying to get a program to automatically reload if I accidentally close it. This is a remote access program, so it has to be relaunched without me doing anything to help it along if it crashes or I accidentally close it. I have two computers, one to program the firmware on a microcontroller (command line only), and the other is my desktop machine running Ubuntu. I have an NFS share between the two. I have a syslog-ng running and kernel build of 2.6.34.8 I use a syslog API in my program with facility LOG_LOCAL5 and and levels debug err and crit and info. when I ran on the older syslog facility I had everything logged fine as I intended. now I have written these rules into the syslog-ng.conf:

the last two rules show my program gnssapp. the result is all debug levels or crit or err levels I don't see any of them !
i'm used to using putty on a window's machine.With putty whatever you select is automatically on the clipboard without having to right click and select copy.And right click just pastes.
