Ubuntu :: Torrent Client With Frostwire Like Search Feature
Sep 1, 2011I am looking for a program which has the same in-program search system as LimeWire/Frostwire, in the sense that when you type in your query, the program opens a results window in-program, listing all torrents relating to the query. I'm looking for this because my sister doesn't want to look for downloads on a torrent site, she just wants to stay in the program. Personally, I don't mind the current method, but I do understand the irritation when all you've even known is Limewire (and derivatives). I simply made the jump, but I agree that initially, it was jarring. I know that uTorrent has a search function, but it opens a web browser to search, and that's not what I'm looking for.

Apr 17, 2010i have a udp server running at port 60178. when i connect to it from localhost there is no problem. when i use the client from a remote host i am not able to connect. I changed my server firewall settings[Fedora 11] and added "udp 60178" to trusted ports but still nothing happened. I ran wireshark and observed that packets are coming to the server machine but server returns a "Port Unreachable" ICMP message and doesnt give the packet to the application.

If I install Ubuntu Desktop to my local machine is it possible for me to administer the server using Ubuntu Desktop (using the GUI)? I connect to the net over ADSL. Any guides/advice for setting up Ubuntu as a web/mail/ftp with a key focus on keeping to secure? I know how to install LAMP but as I have root I need to learn a little more than I did when I was on a shared host.

Aug 18, 2010I was trying to setup SSL Client authentication on only one virtual host. Here is a brief excerpt sample of my conf file for the virtual host:

SSLVerifyDepth 2
</VirtualHost>
But when I try to check for syntax errors tells me SSLRequire not allowed here I do not want to add SSLRequire on the main httpd.conf because I only want it for one virtual host. The rest of the virtual hosts do not need it.

Mar 7, 20101. I can connect to my slack 13 laptop via PuTTY on my GF's windows laptop. Can I actually copy things from my laptop to her machine using 'scp', or is PuTTY just used for browsing my linux filesystem on a windows machine? Google has been telling me about some software called 'WinSCP', which can copy files over, but I was just wandering if i can do this anyway using PuTTY?

The first time i did connect to my laptop from my GF's laptop (and also my ubuntu desktop) I get the warning about the host key is not cached in client machine("the server's rsa2 key fingerprint is: ssh-rsa XXXX xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx: etc etc). I understand why this happens, but I have no idea where to find this value on my host laptop. I can find the actual key, but not the fingerprint (i.e. the xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx" etc). i blindly typed "yes" to get SSH working?
3. When i connect from the internet (rather than over my home network) will i need some kind of 'shell login account' to do this cuz i dont have a static IP. ie i'd like to do 'ssh tom@myAccount.com' rather than 'tom@123.432.32.23'? Where or how can i make this happen?

Ubuntu Networking :: Transfer Files From Cluster To Host And Then Host To Another?
Mar 4, 2010I am working on a cluster for a molecular dynamics class and I have to edit my FORTRAN code (only the newest and best for me!). In order to get through to the cluster I have to ssh in. The network on which the cluster resides is behind a firewall, so I have to ssh through the firewall into the network first.
this is fine, I can login and move files and folders as needed, including sftp-ing into host 1, then into the cluster so I can transfer files from cluster to host and then host to me. This gets rather tiresome, so it would be nice to edit the files in place.
The problem is that when I access my code with emacs it launches the emacs client on Host 1, with no mouse support. I know the purists will howl about how I should be using keyboard shortcuts, but I am a chemist and not a programmer, so the mouse is very nice for me. Is there any way I can perhaps mount the cluster using sshfs so that when I open my code it launches a local instance of emacs? Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I thought it was network related.

Sep 8, 2009Many of mails sent from my mail server that are in Queue;The main reason is deffered by domains like yahoo,aol,etc.but there is one more error that i keep getting and that is Host Unknown,Below is an example from mail log,The catch is,test mail sent on the same email id sent from my personal mail from the same server i.e. url was deliveredHowever,another mail containing client information sent from customercare@mycompanysdomain ended up in queue.
There are more examples of the same,around 20 domain have the same problem.
