I followed [URL] to install and use Cisco VPN to connect to my office network. After importing the .pcf file, I am able to connect without any issues. However, once the connection is established, I am not able to either browse the internet or open any intranet sites. If I do ifconfig, I do not get a office IP however the tunnel IP shows up correctly. I am not sure what the issue is.

I have only Linux devices at work and I was wondering how do Linux Administrators connect to Cisco devices via serial console cable. Cisco recommends 'Hyper Terminal' which was a Windows add-on applications licensed to XP. I think Vista and 7 no longer have the license to use Hyper Terminal. Regardless I don't have any versions of Windows and would like to use a serial cable from Com port 1 to the console port on the device. I can't use SSH since some devices don't support SSH and or I have to do a password recovery.

I am trying to connect to a cisco console port using the usb to serial converter. I am using minicom and I changed me setting to reflect the USB converter cable, but it isn't working. I have set my baud rate to 9600, 8 data bits and no parity. Minicom acts as if it is connected (it doesn't give any errors), but there is nothing on the screen and nothing happens when I type. Also, I use the tail command and it sees the usb connector connected when I unplug it and plug it back in.

Because from GTKterm you can rsave raw file by clicking "save every to raw file manually". As it's say on the readme file, you can use "gtkterm -f filename.txt", but i tried and any file is created on the current directory.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running kubuntu 9.04. I have minicom, Gtkterm and Putty installed. minicom seems to be really good, but I am missing scroll back functionality on there. Either that or I'm a novice with it and don't know how to do it. Putty is a GREAT app. But what I'm finding is that after the terminal runs for a bit, the screen shows characters from the previous lines and goofs up the output. If I move the window, the gibirish disappears. gtkterm is adding several empty lines to any of the screen output.

The instrument is connected to my computer through an ethernet card. Since my reinstall I cannot figure out how to get my computer and instrument communicating again. I'm guessing that I need to somehow tell my computer to connect to the device, but I don't know how. Here is my interface configuration:

i need to install vpnc in amazon ec2 fedor 8 instance. i have installed with yum install vpnc commaned. And i have placed config file in /etc/vpnc/some.conf. but it is not connecting and giving the following error.

I just installed Ubuntu 9.10 and its great. However when I connect to the internet at home it shows that the connection has been established but I still cant connect to the internet. My flatmates are all able to connect. However, I am able to connect from work both wirelessly and through an ethernet cable.

Upon opening the site I was asked to run a Java application, which installed a Cisco AnyConnect VPN client on the system. However, now I do not need this, but I cannot find a way to uninstall it. It does not appear in the Synaptic Manager or the the ubuntu Software centre, so I cannot find the package to uninstall it. The software does appear in the 'Internet' section in the Application drop down menu and runs without the need of Firefox. I read the Cisco release notes but I could not find a way to uninstall the software.

The problem I have is that once I join my company vpn, I have full access to corporate services confluence, jira, servers, etc. However when I use firefox to try and resolve a jira and post a body of text the connection timesout.
If i use any other browser it works fine, if slow, if i transition workflows it works fine, and if i use windows and firefox with the same cisco client it works fine.
This appears to be a specific issue with Firefox. I have noticed that in general firefox is slower on ubuntu than on any other platform.
Any updated guides anyone know of that works with Ubuntu 10.10 to get Cisco VPN Client (not Anyconnect) working with the latest version of Ubuntu?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI use VPNC to connect to a Cisco VPN. I am able to connect, but some issues exist when I use SSH. For example, I login through SSH to a computer in the VPN and I execute ls => it works. If I execute ls -la => connection stalls. I think it stalls every time it is supposed to return more content (top, ls /etc).
If I do scp from my end to server => works. If I do scp from server to my end => connection stalls.
I'm trying to install the Cisco VPN client on Ubuntu 11.04, kernel version 2.6.38-8 generic-pae. I need a step by step process since I am an absolute beginner with Ubuntu and this is my first install on the operating system. I have already tried the network manager but connection always fails. View 5 Replies View RelatedI go to system > preferences > network connections in 9.10 and import a profile. The vpn seems to connect but I cannot ping computers on the remote network. When I attempt to ping, it seems it can see an ip (DNS must be working) but I can't actually ping the machine or rdp in. I've disabled my firewall and rebooted and that didn't help. What can I do?

When I try to connect to my company's VPN using the Cisco VPN client, I get a kernel panic. Please don't suggest I should Cisco's client, it only works with Kernels older than 2.6.24 (I have 2.6.35).
So I use vpnc. The error message is:

When I connect to my company's VPN (it's a Cisco), it connects just fine and displays the broadcast message, but once connected I can't ping anything or ssh anywhere. Not on the private network, not on the Internet [URL], nothing. I can still browse the web without difficulties when connected to the VPN, but no ssh or ping. With ping, it properly resolves the host name, but I get 100% packet loss.
Once I disconnect from the VPN, a ping of [URL] works exactly as expected.
I don't have any firewalls set up on this host that I'm aware of (unless something is installed and configured by default).
I'm using Ubuntu 10.10, amd64 build.
