View 1 RepliesFor the last few releases, I've remained with Amarok 1.4, but now that I've deemed Amarok 2 stable enough, I've upgrade, however, the lyrics to my songs (which I put in a lot of effort in downloading), are not reflecting. Is there anyway to export lyrics from Amarok 1.4 and import them in Amarok 2?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've found that my skype stopped working with recent -current updates ( around beta ... ). It was looking for a libuuid.so.1 library - on checking I found the 64-bit version but no 32-bit version - quite strange as this has been working fine since my original slackware64 13.0 installation. Anyhow, I got the 32-bit util-linux package, did the 32-bit package convert thing and skype is now working:
1. convertpkg-compat32 -i util-linux-ng-2.17.2-i486-1.txz
2. un-archive
3. copy the libuuid lib to /lib and soft-link in /usr/lib
I didn't install the whole compat package as this is not really necessary I think.
I have a strange problem with my skype beta (latest) and Pidgin (gmail account) the problem is when i make voice call, it works fine for 1 or 2 mins then the voice drops and it connects after 20,30 secs.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed amarok using synaptic package manager, as well as other audio players. However, its not in Applications->Sound & Video. I couldnt find it anywhere else either.
How do I find it? so far i can only run it from the terminal by simply typing "amarok" but this means that terminal needs to stay up in order to work!
I just installed Kubuntu today to try KDE. I am really enjoying it but I got 1 problem. Amarok doesn't seem to find any album covers. Even though I ticked the box "automatically retrieve cover art" he still refuses. Another strange thing: the "cover manager" is completely empty. I got a screen for u.
View 1 Replies View RelatedTitle says it all. I have an OpenSuse 11.2 KDE 4 64 bit system. I'd like to run Clementine as an audio player but can't find an RPM that will install on my system. Please don't suggest I update to 11.4 since KDEPIM is still unusable in that version. (11.2 is the latest version with a fully functional KDEPIM including distribution lists) I'd gladly install Amarok 1.4 but then I'd need to add KDE3 to this system.

View 3 Replies View Related3 o 4 days ago I installed KDE 4.6 from KDE 46 repository and I upgrade my OS and some applications like Amarok. I had some problems so I erased .kde folder and reboot my computer. KDE 4.6 works fine and fast (in my opinion, faster than KDE 4.5) but I have problems with Amarok 2.4. When I try to scan my music collection Amarok don't find any song. I have a NTFS partition in my computer and I have all my music there. I mount the partition since fstab and in 6 months I didn't have any problem. I can use Clementine for exmple and scan all my songs perfectly, but not Amarok.

I've dumped Pulseaudio, made sure volume is up in Alsa, rebooted, but Skype still lists Pulseaudio as what it's using! How do I get its tiny mind to use something else? There was also a thread saying an earlier version of Skype, 2.1.0.47, used to work, but I can't find a 64-bit version of that. I've got the 32-bit version which I could run in a 32-bit ubuntu in virtualbox, but fergawdssake there has to be a better way!How do I make sure the system isn't still somehow using Pulseaudio? I did purge it. It should be gone. Output of various system specs:

Very recently, I installed 10.04 on a laptop with the 'Try it' option. After installation, I installed Skype - I'm not sure if it was from the Software Center or via apt-get. Today, I installed 10.04 as a full installation on my desktop. The laptop shows Skype in the software center, and apt-cache search skype shows "skype - VOIP and instant messaging client", but the desktop doesn't show it anywhere.

View 6 Replies View Relatedhow to find the latest modified directory. I know that the command 'ls -rtl' gives the latest modified file/directory at the end. But my specific requirement is: If I create two directories named dir1, dir2 in the same order. so now my latest modified directory is "dir2". Now inside each directories, I created a file. Now in the last, I modify the file in "dir1". So overall, the content of dir1 got modified recently. If I use the command 'ls -rtl', this will still show dir2 as latest, as it is created recently. But I want the directory in which any internal content at any sub-hierarchy modified recently. so with what linux command I'll get this latest modified directory (dir1)?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to write a script. I have the basic form working... but I would like to add some advanced features. I have a list of .zip files that have a version number in the filename (i.e. sudoku-134.zip, sudoku-176.zip, sudoku-203.zip, etc). I would like to have a script that will find the latest version of each game, and unzip it. I want the next to latest version left untouched. But anything older, I would like the unzipped folder deleted (But leave the .zip file)
Here's what I have so far:
Code:
#!/bin/bash
cd /var/www/vhosts/server.com/httpsdocs/games/$1
for file in `ls *.zip`; do
if [ -d ${file%.*} ]; then
echo
else
mkdir ${file%.*}
cd ${file%.*}
unzip ../$file > /dev/null
cd ..
echo 'date' $file >> /var/www/vhosts/games4roku.com/private/$1.log
fi
done
I can call the script with "game-unzip public" to unzip all the public games.
Here's my files:
Code:
sudoku-134.zip
sudoku-134/
sudoku-176.zip
sudoku-176/
When I add the latest version, sudoku-203.zip, I want it to unzip it to ./sudoku-203/ and rm -rf sudoku-134
Last two days I am trying to find alternative to skype. So I decided to find solution for my family, friends to chat, call (audio, video) using opensource product on linux. I have tried the following: (using same clients and gtalk accounts on both test machines)
1. Kopete 1.0.80
Firstly, I like it because it is native in opensuse KDE system.
Secondly, it has optional jungle support for gtalk, which is ok for me.
The only problem, I cannot turn on jingle support, because there should be talk.google.com server , but the right server is gmail.com. Only with gmail.com server I can connect to my gtalk. I was managed to do it right, but my friends do not have jingle settings (libjingle installed). What should we do? Will we be able to talk when we activate it?
2. Pidgin 2.7.10 (libpurple 2.7.10)
Video calling, audio calling doesn't work at all. We using same version of pidgin on two computers, there is mention that it is calling but no progress after, nothing. Even camera turns on (no image though) but after doesn't turn off (camera light).
3. PSI 0.14 patched
Psimedia installed, doesn't call at all. Says that the client reject me or busy.
4. Empathy 2.32.2
No options for video and audio hardware, nothing to change at all). Call from menu doesn't work, nothing happens after I press "call". Call from chat window impossible because buttons are grey, are not active. Now error "could not sync the state of the new nicesrc with its parent"
5. Gajim
Even after writing down stun server stun.ekiga.net call buttons for video and audio call were inactive, unable to make call.
6. Ekiga
Using pctel.ru. Works ok, sometimes problems with intiating video, but still something. I am not very happy because it is not XMPP.
7. Twinkle works like a charm. The only one client using which I haven't had any problems at all. The only thing to tailor is audio codec (also encryption if you like).
I hope to make a call one day and to be sure that I haven't used any closed program for it!
If I go to the website and download the ISO file is it the exact same one that was released in April or will it contain the latest patches (e.g. security fixes, etc) that have been release since then? If it doesn't I suppose I'll have to download the entire ISO file, install the OS, and then have another couple hundred MB to download which is not what I'd prefer.
