Ubuntu :: Accidentally Removed Network Icon From Top Panel?

I accidentally removed network and sound icon from top panel. Is there any way how to put it back? I've read several howtos that I've to add notification area but it doesn't really work.I know that if I delete this user and create a new one the icons will be there again but I'd like to do it cleaner way.This is how it should look like (untouched user account):And this is what I've done :-/Network icon is missing in both accounts (removed by accident while trying to remove something else :-/ in user "tata" it at least shows sound button.
I accidentally removed messaging menu icon from gnome panel, and I can't put it back. I found this: [URL], but it doesn't say how to put the icon back on the panel.
I accidentally removed the message icon on my top menu bar in lucid lynx. Its the one which you click to get easy access to instant messaging, gwibber and evolution, how do I got about getting it back?
I accidentally removed the sound menu from my panel bar in Ubuntu 10.10. I did manage to find some solutions to get the sound volume applet in place, like it was in previous Ubuntu versions, but I do obviously prefer the new sound menu in place. Does anybody know how I can get it working again?
I accidentally removed the dhclient3 file. I had ran chkrootkit and it said it was a possible suspicious file. Once I rebooted, the network was disabled. I am running off the Ubuntu cd by choosing trial. How can I get dhclient3 back onto my installed Ubuntu?
I was attempting to move the buttons on my panel and ended removing my network manager (did it by right clicking it and selecting "remove from the panel"). Now all i want is to put it back but i don't know its command nor where it is to use the "add to panel" feature. Anyone knows how to put it back?
I have Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx. I recently started messing with the desktop environment, going from GNOME to Ubuntu Studio to Netbook Remix... and then I decided to remove the Netbook look and go back to Studio, by removing it through the Software Manager. But this seemed to remove any and all desktop environments present. So now I just have the xterm. This was not part of the plan. I can get the Software Manager up and running, but I cannot get packages. I could try to provide the exact error message I get when I try, though I'm not entirely sure how to bring it to you. Is there a way I can get a desktop environment back after such a screw-up?
i was trying to remove the flash plugin 32bit wrapper (don't remember the exact name of the package),using the command apt-get -y remove --purge and i saw somehow uninstalled a bunch of other programs like the gnome-network manager,emphaty...Now i rebooted and can't log on anymore .Is there a way to repair this,like running an upgrade from the livecd to restore the missing parts without wiping out my conf & other programs ? I've tried this that i found some other forum ,but i didn't work

i removed slackpkg.conf.new by accident slackpkg version now i always get this message no matter if i remove package and install it again Your slackpkg.conf is outdated. Please, edit it using slackpkg.conf.new as example or overwrite it with slackpkg.conf.new. You can use 'slackpkg new-config' to do that. what i have to do to eliminate it and make slackpkg working again?
I accidentally removed yum, yum-fastestmirror etc. packages on Centos 5.3 after a failed "yum update" to update Centos 5.3 to 5.4. re-install yum packages manually by rpm.
I copied yum-3.2.19-18.el5.centos.noarch.rpm and yum-fastestmirror-1.1.16-13.el5.centos.noarch.rpm to my file system and tried to install by rpm. I got the following messages:
I recently had to install Python 2.7 to run some specific cripts and so tried to uninstall Python 2.6 so that I didn't have to worry about path conflicts. It seems that when uninstalling the Python package it's stripped most of the apps from my installation, including fairly essential stuff like the terminal. It also seemed to stop accepting my password as a root user, though I'm hoping a reboot may fix that.
Can anyone provide a listing of the default packages that Ubuntu ships with please so I can try to repair my system? I tried looking through ones I might know but it appears for example that while Bash is installed I have no Terminal entry under Applications.
I have had a bit of experience with previous distros but I am pretty much a newbie. So I setup 10.04 but I can't get my net to connect. It's working fine on Win7 (posting from it). It's a dsl connection. I use an ethernet wire to connect to the net.
I opened terminal and used the 'sudo pppoeconf' command and followed the instructions. This is how I used to get my net working on previous distros but it dosen't seem to work in 10.04. The terminal says that my connection is active but it isn't. The network manager icon isn't visible on the top panel.
Have a strange problem with the network icon on my laptop.
I have two users (me & my wife). We often log in and use switch users so we're both logged in at the same time.
Whoever logs in first will get the network manager icon in the top panel, and whoever logs in second won't get the icon.
The second user does get a message (growl notification?) saying the wireless network <whatever> is now connected & it is indeed connected.
It's a bit annoying, as if I log in second, I can't chnage my wireless network to the other one we have, I'm stuck using whichever one my wife selected.
I am using ubuntu 10.4, network icon to manage wireless disappear suddenly.Wireless is working fine. I just don't see network-manager icon.I tried:Right click on pannel and try to add Network Manager. But there is no network manager.I also try, $killall $nm-applet, then $nm-applet --sm-disable.
I haven't got Lubuntu as such, I've installed LXDE to try it out with Ubuntu 11.04 sometimes. For it to be practical for me I need the battery icon and Network Manager on the panel. I'm assuming this can be done easily enough as Linux Mint LXDE has got it, or Network Manager at least. i need NM to easily start my Mobile Broadband dongle's connection.Also, can touchpad tapping be turned off in LXDE, and how? I have it set up to have no tapping in regular Ubuntu but this is undone when I boot LXDE.
everything was excellent till yesterday evening but from the evening, when i switched on my pc, the Network Connections icon is missing from the panel of my fedora 12 os. i'm being able to connect to internet from Systems->Preferences->Network connections & check Connect Automatically to my Mobile broadband connection. but i'm not being able to disconnect it. i've to remove the mobile phone from my pc.please put some light on how will I be able to disconnect it (without removing the phone)?
I am not much experienced with Linux systems and commands. I have been searching with Goggle and trying to solve. Today I had accidentally removed the boot grub menu list. There is a backup file. Now my system boots to >grub command. I have tried all sorts of things from live CD to boot the system I have tried Super Grub also. I am no able to go to the directory where the back up boot menu list is available and change the name from the live CD. Can any one help me with commands to go to the directory and rename the file for booting.
I'm a Ubuntu 10.04 user.I accidentally deleted the Help Icon that is near to the Applications/Places/System tab and I can't find a way to add it again. I tried to right click on the panel, then I clicked "Add to Panel" and tried to find that icon, but it was not there.
Someone on the forums had me uninstall pulseaudio to get pSX working, and now I don't have a volume control icon on the panel and when choosing to add stuff to the panel it isn't available.I re-installed pulseaudio through the package manager, but I have a feeling it didn't install everything that uninstalled with it.
When I installed Ubuntu, I had two panels.The first one has application, places, system, shortcuts and time.The second one had all of my icons and when I minimized an app, I could access it off of the second panel.I have closed this second panel and don't know how to restart it. Now when I minimize an app (eg browser), I have to press alt-tab and toggle through the open apps until I get to the one I need

Kwallet is off. Then I install a wireless device under WPA. Wired icon starts to change to wireless icon, but does not and goes back to wired icon. Hovering pointer over wired icon shows wired device installed as well as wireless device. How do I keep the wireless icon in place after installing WPA to wireless device?
Ok So i installed edubuntu yesterday, and it was working flawlessly. Now suddenly the "Network Connections" icon in the top panel, to the left of clock and at the side of volume controller is missing. I don't know how to connect to my DSL Broadband internet!I'm using the "sudo pppoeconf" command temporarily to connect to internet. I've BSNL broadband internet connection, I live in India. Please help me how to bring back the networkconnection icon, so that i may connect net again. Like in the above picture, there are "2 oppositely pointing arrows" showing the network connection icon, to the side of volume controller. How to bring it back? It suddenly disappeared on itselfI googled a bit and found that some people told to press alt+f2 and type some command (which i forgot and am not able toremember, sorry!). But that didn't work, although it worked for the person who had the same problem as mine.
