I was downloading to a USB drive and went to continue the download without the USB drive plugged in. "Save location not found " etc. So I plug in the drive now it wants to start all over. How do I make it start from where it left off. There are no transmission files on the ISB drive dir. that seem to hold the info and the transmission "queue" has reset as if I had not downloaded any data yet.

I got this keyboard no found error...no problem since my grub menu 1st entry is ubuntu...so once I got to load ubuntu, the keyboard magically works.
Basically when booting, it show "Keyboard not detected, press f1 to continue" then at the grub menu, I am not able to select win xp or anything. So by default 1st entry is ubuntu so I can boot into ubuntu.
Once ubuntu is loaded, I can use the keyboard to enter my password....
So I was wondering if the cmos battery is flat...but still why can't my key board be detected when booting up?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have ubuntu-10.04-desktop-amd64.iso loaded in Transmission, which starts every time I boot up. Today, I booted up and got these weird error messages from Transmission with the ubuntu-10.04-desktop-amd64.iso file. The message is: Tracker gave an error "Requested download is not authorized for use with this tracker." - Idle.
I thought that maybe something was wrong with Transmission, so I paused the torrent and then removed it. I then reloaded it and pointed Transmission at the download directory. Transmission verified the downloaded data and then spat out the same error message at me - "Requested download is not authorized for use with this tracker."
I then removed the torrent from Transmission, exited from Transmission cleanly, restarted Transmission, reloaded the torrent file, pointed it at the current download location, it verified the file was completely downloaded, and then got the same error message. I have a firewall running, and it has ports 51413 and ports 6881-6999 open for both TCP and UDP connections. These are the same settings that I had yesterday, and there was no error message spat out by Transmission yesterday.
I want to make transmission download faster. I have noticed transmission is a slow bittorrent.

Is it possible to save the process and log out then log in and continue the process? I know how to pause a process using kill -pause pID and continue it using kill -cont pID. But that only work if you don't log out after pausing it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have quite fast Internet connection, 100mbit, and I'm able to take advantage of the entire bandwidth that I'm paying for. When I, however, use Transmission as torrent client and download a torrent faster than, 7-8 Mbyte/second, my hard drive is spinning all the time and my desktop becomes sporadically unresponsive, load average gets high and I'm pretty much sure the Transmission-application is the cause to this, somehow. It must be some strange way it cashes stuff...I don't know.
I'm, either way, not experiencing anything like that with any other torrent client in Linux (or Windows for that matter). It's not that I'm tied to Transmission, in fact, I prefer rtorrent and use it anytime I can, it's just that some stupid torrent sites are giving me Transmission as the only client option when I'm using Linux, so I have to stick to it those times. I have quite fast system, Core Duo 3ghz, 4gb ram, 500 gb 7200rpm 16MB cache WD hard drive, etc...so the hardware certainly shouldn't be a problem.
Since school ended, I decided to finally wipe and due a clean upgrade to Slackware 13.0. Everything is great except one thing. When I want to save something in firefox, the "save as" window that popups up, that allows you to browse to right directory, popups too low. In my window manager(wmii), the bottom is cutoff. I want to have the window popup higher. Is this possible? In my previous install, I think the window would usually remember where it last was, but now it seems to always popup in the same location. I'm not sure if this is slackware, firefox or wmii issue. Also I tried another wm, Awesomewm, and it showed up in the same spot.
