Trying to clean up my system having removed some factory repos so now I have the standard 4, update, oss, non-oss & packman. When updating and switchine to packman I get many Wrong Digest errors and when downloading many NO KEY messages.
What is the significance of the no key message. How can I renew keys from repo sites and what should I do about the Wrong Digest warnings?
I have problem installing Suse on vmware, after checking media i got "wrong digest" even if i try to skip this i got md5 checksums errors. The best I use DVD' SLED 11 and SLES 11 from course i was some time ago (in both the same error). I thought maybe something wrong with my dvd in laptop (GSA-4082N) but i tried on my old PC with same result.
I'm updating a newly installed openSUSE 11.2 64bit and in the process the checksum of a delta package called "yast2-ncurses" fails. The rest of the update went without warning.Reading through the forums I found that I should check the installation media and I did - the dvd contains no errors. The list of repositories is the default one with the dvd turned off.
make install then i got this error: postfix: fatal: chdir(/usr/libexec/postfix): No such file or directory make: *** [install] Error 1 I don't understand why it's checking the usr/libexec folder for the daemons although I've set the folder to /opt/product/postfix-2.6.5/libexec in the makefile. Here is also the cat of my makedefs.out:
I am setting a Lucid mail server, and got dspam and mailgraph installed. dspam requires suexec module for apache, but it breaks mailgraph with "500 Internal Server Error":
This is installed and I get this error. I am attempting to install razor-agents 2.84 and get this error along with: Warning: prerequisite URI::Escape 0 not found.
Both of these were install in CPAN. When I attempt to install them again, they say they are up to date.
I recently set up a machine with Ubuntu 10.4 LTS to help to replace an aging VAX mailserver that was the DMZ mailserver for the company I work for. I set up a default install of postfix (via apt-get) to function as a DMZ border device that routes between two internal mailservers based on subdomain aliasing via internal DNS.
The problem is that although I have installed no anti-spam or anti-virus options, mail sent to this machine from any outside source containing a password-protected zip file is being rejected with error:
552 Password protected zip file found inside of the email
At first I'd thought that possibly it was the sending mailserver issuing this error, but after further testing I found that no matter the source, any password protected zip file is immediately rejected. Being as we're in a HIPAA-sensitive environment, this has been relied upon as a backup for people to do one time encrypted file sends via email. The file in question is relatively small, and I do not have any quotas on, and the same test file sent two ways (one encrypted zip and one non-encrypted zip) caused the encrypted zip only to fail.
As stated before, I do not use any type of antivirus or antispam measures, no header or body checks have been put in place, and in the course of trying to troubleshoot this problem, have probably opened my server up more than is strictly wise. I really need to enable this feature as being unable to take encrypted zips puts the entire migration at risk.
I try to run a file in a directory different that i am on now, and it tries to run it in my current dir, what can be the problem example: I try to run: /usr/bin/php /var/www/mydir/file.php and i get this error: The file /var/log/var/www/mydir/data/file.txt is not exists this file.txt is called from the script i try to run. I guess it might be something needed to be changed regarding to path settings, but really no idea if i am right and what i should do.
I want to set up an installation server for CentOS 5.5, using PXE for boot, kickstart for package selection (one for server), and NFS for share all files needed.I've succesfully completed a fresh installation of CentOS5 from the DVD for one of my servers (virgil), and I've copied the anaconda-ks.cfg generated by the installer to my install server (beatrix).
Next, I've properly configured the /etc/dhcpd.conf , the /tftpboot/pxelinux.cfg/<IP_CODED> and the /etc/exports for NFS sharing on beatrix. Then, I've copied all the first DVD of CentOS5 content in this folder on beatrix: /opt/CentOS_install I've tried to start virgil from ethernet, and all has gone ok, with the kickstart and so on! But I've decided to apply the updates (new kernel, sudo, xorg, ...), so I've deleted the old rpms from /opt/CentOS_install/CentOS and copied the new ones (downloaded from http://mirror.centos.org/centos-5/5/updates/x86_64/RPMS/). So, I've launched the following commands to recreate the repodata:
But when I try to reinstall virgil, an error message appears, telling me that a package (perl-DBI-...) isn't present in the media. After some debugging, I've noticed that in the /opt/CentOS_install/repodata/primary.xml.gz there isn't the correct path for the rpms. If you look at the original primary.xml, the "path" is like:path="CentOS/abcxyz.rpm" while in the generated file (with createrepo) the path is:
path="abcxyz.rpm".How can I recreate the repodata with the correct path information?
I just set up an internal mail server for my office using Postfix, Dovecot and Squirrelmail. It works great except for one tiny problem. When I send mail, I address it to user@myoffice (no .com, .net, etc) and it works perfectly. However, somewhere in my work, I screwed up and for whatever dumb reason put myoffice.net somewhere in there and now the return-path always shows up as user@myoffice.net instead of just user@myoffice. Does anyone know how to fix the return-path so that when someone clicks reply it goes to user@myoffice? I've Googled and searched here without finding my answer, apologies if it's out there and I've just failed to see it. Rest assured I have done a couple hours of searching before finally asking for help.
I just configured my first postfix mail server today. Everything is working correctly except for the fact that on all outgoing emails instead of the mail format being user@mydomain.biz it says user@hostnameofpostfixserver. I've looked everywhere I can think and I cant see where I'm substituting the host-name of the server for the domain name of my email. Where else could it be?Below is my main.cf. I am running ubuntu 9.10.# See /usr/share/postfix/main.cf.dist for a commented, more complete version# Debian specific: Specifying a file name will cause the first# line of that file to be used as the name. The Debian default
I'm running postfix with virtual domains and want to modify the delivery path. Right now, I have one path for each user that's found with a database lookup. Before mail hits Postfix, it will have an x-spam-header: yes/no/uncertain field. When mail with x-spam-header: yes the lookup for the path would return /var/mail/domain/username/.Inbox/.spam.
What I think I'd like to do is parse the x-spam-header value in postfix, populate a variable, then use the variable to modify the path lookup in the database. header_checks has a FILTER option, but that's just beyond my skillset at the moment.Or, maybe I'm better off modifying the path with a procmail recipe? Currently, my mailbox_command = procmail -a "$EXTENSTION"
When I run:Quote:mount -t davfs http://xxxx/webdav /home/USER1I get:Quote:Please enter the username to authenticate with serverhttp://xxxx/webdav or hit enter for none.
Username: USER1 Please enter the password to authenticate user USER1 with server http://xxxx/webdav or hit enter for none.
I was wondering if we could cd in the directory of the PATH variable. For example, if I type in echo $DISPLAY. It will give me /tmp/launch-3ee4fg/org.x:0 Is there any way that I can just take the value '/tmp/launch-3ee4fg/' from the output of $DISPLAY and exclude out the filename to the end of the command. I tried using the read command and the IFS variable..apparently IFS does not recognise / I guess.
I am trying to install bugzila on CentOS release 5.5. In that process I have to install perl package Digest::SHA. I did it through yum (Doesnt seems to be recognized by cpan and bugzila)
I am not sure why cpan and bugzila are not recognizing the module and where is the mistake. I am unable to interpret why make file is having problem in cpan Can any one throw some light on what exactly is going wrong with my install
my problem happened sinces a long time ago. Basically Firefox, when I try to download plugin from Google or from mozilla website or when I check my IP, the servers think that my Firefox is a 3.0.0 and Window XP.I use Ubuntu 10.04 and the Firefox version 3.16.15 - Mozilla Firefox for Ubuntu canonical - 1.0. I attached to this a pic of what I get from the website
I successfully shared a subdirectory of my home directory, using GNOME under Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Desktop. What drives me crazy is that I can't find this directory listed in /etc/samba/smb.conf, in a "path" line. Please tell me where is this directory specified, since smb.conf seems to be the only samba config file.
Installed Apache and the default web root was /var/www I wanted to change the cgi-bin to somewhere within the /var/www but I cannot. It only works at /usr/lib/cgi-bin. I am trying to work out the Python CGI to be precise. It works at /usr/lib/cgi-bin but gives a 404 at other places like /home/aj/public_html/cgi-bin or /var/www/cgi-bin.I even tried it with putting a webroot directory in my home directory with a cgi-bin in it and made the changes accordingly in the conf. but the only way it works is when cgi-bin settings point to /usr/lib/cgi-bin otherwise it gives 404.
I setup Dokuwiki (local use only) and have done some testing. The following works under Windows in IE and Firefox: (Firefox needed some tweaks to open local links. no errors in the console)
[URL]
But it does not work in Ubuntu. I get Firefox can't find the file at ///192.168.0.150/images/test.jpg I have to use the locallink plugin, and several clicks, and this syntax for it to work in Ubuntu. [URL] I hate having to open each link using several clicks and even more so, having to make two types of links in my wiki posts! (SMB:// does not work in Windows.)
192.168.0.150 is a WD NAS. I will also be setting up my software RAID 5 that runs on Ubuntu to hold data for clickable in links on the wiki as well. What do I need to do to get Firefox/Ubuntu to be able to click on and use file://///192.168.0.150/images/test.jpg
Wirehsark shows NO PACKETS when I click on the link file://///192.168.0.150/images/test.jpg, so Firefox is not even trying to find the file! [URL] I have tried epiphany and it did not work either. (No packets being sent either.) This seems to be a Linux issue.
I have a postfix server running on a virtual machine hosted by vpslink.com. I have followed the following configuration guide to install the system with dovecot, sasl smtpd authentication, and postfix as an mta: [URL](I know it says it's a debian configuration, but it seemed legitimate that I could follow it). Anyway, in sending email from my primary email account, I have found that roughly 1/2 of the messages are delivered, and 1/2 of them are rejected with a message similar to the following:
I can't seem to reinstall Postfix. I followed a guide and couldn't get it to work. After I retried a few times I gave up and deleted all files and folders I could find related to Postfix. Well I realized what the issue was and now that I want to try reinstalling Postfix it won't allow me.
When I type:
Code: sudo apt-get install postfix Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done postfix is already the newest version. 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 3 not upgraded. 1 not fully installed or removed.
I am trying to install a mail server (postfix). I followed the instructions (up until SMTP, I do not want that) on ubuntu pages, without any result. I can send mail, but I can't get any.
I have been following the guide atand it has all worked perfectly and as expected, except for when it says to run "telnet localhost 25". Instead of getting an ip address displayed as I have seen it is supposed to, it just out puts this."Trying 127.0.0.1...Connected to localhost.localdomain.Escape character is '^]'.Connection closed by foreign host."
I recently reinstalled my workstation from OpenSuse 11.2 to 11.4. After the installation, I found that I could not run zypper anymore. A few things to note first.
- OpenSuse 11.4 x64 - behind corporate firewall (which worked fine with zypper as long as a proxy was configured with previous versions
- used that ZYPP_ARIA=0 variable previously to help). - proxies configured in /etc/sysconfig/proxy. - all other network utilities I normally use (browser, ssh) all work fine. - I have removed all repositories and added them again several times. I have also done "zypper clean" several times not that I would expect that to be better than removing and re-adding the repositories. When I attempt to run "zypper ref" or "zypper in foo" I get the following:
[code]...
If I manually use wget to grab the package and either run it directly or insert it into the /var/cache/zypp tree (replacing the metalink version zypper complains about) it always works and gives me the right file.....
On a new machine running Ubuntu 10.04.2, the freshclam program (in clamav-freshclam version 0.96.5+dfsg-1ubuntu1.10.04.2) won't do updates to the database. It fails on DNS queries. DNS works OK for other programs. The tcpdump command shows that it sends the queries to 127.0.0.1 instead of the correct DNS servers specified by /etc/resolv.conf. Of course it doesn't get an answer because it is asking the wrong IP address.
There is also a --no-dns option, but that didn't help/
Do I need to tell ot what the DNS servers are, somewhere?
