Ubuntu Servers :: Connect Exchange To Apache2?

Feb 21, 2011

I've got a server here with MS Exchange. The customer wants this website I've made for him, but the site is using apache/drupal/mysql.

I went ahead and installed debian in place of a virtual XP installation that was wasting space. It's all setup and running.

His old website, which was running on IISv6, is connected and able to access the MS Exchange server, via /exchange.

I need to be able to do this with his new website.

Ubuntu Servers :: Can Evolution Get A Global Address Exchange List

Sep 22, 2010

I use Ubuntu with Evolution here at work, and we have an Exchange server. can I somehow suck up all of the addresses in the global address list and somehow save them locally and import them to Evolution? Since I can't "link" to the global list it would at least be handy for me to utilize locally.

Ubuntu Servers :: Postfix Relay - Exchange Sends The Mail Instead Giving Recipient Mail A Valid Reverse DNS Lookup

Jan 12, 2011

The scenario: We have an external server that runs HTTP/DB servers for out shop system. Then, there's our local, in-house infrastructure that runs a.. yeah... Exchange 2010. The shop system on the external server needs to send mails to customers (order confirmations, invoices, etc.). seing as sending them directly through the local MTA (Postfix) would cause mail delivery problems because of reverse DNS issues, i've set the Postfix MTA to act as a satellite to our in-house Exchange Server, so the Exchange sends the mail instead, giving recipient mail servers a valid reverse DNS lookup.

Now, mails sent by the (proprietary, uneditable) shop system are relayed correctly and sent to the target e-mail address. My problem is: Mails not sent by the shop system, but by our own PHP scripts which run on that same external servers, are NOT relayed properly. So the Exchange is fine with the mails sent by the shop system, but not the mails sent by our scripts. This is what i get in the mail.log: The successfully relayed mail sent by the shop system:

[Code]....

Ubuntu :: Evolution Won't Connect To Exchange (10.10)

Nov 25, 2010

I had decided to give Ubuntu a go on my work notebook. At work we use Exchange 2003 (at the moment) for email. I had open Evolution and tried to configure it. I got the welcome screen (wizzard), I clicked Forward and then I skipped Restore from backup (since this is a new install) and clicked Forward. It asked for identity and I gave the details (as shown in the first screenshot) then hit Forward and made the necesary settings as shown in the second screenshot. Then I click Authenticate and it asks for my exchange password. i type it and then it gives me the error "Could not locate server.". I am sure the server name is correct and I am sure it resolves correctly (tried it with firefox and works just fine). I also tried username as follows:

user@DOMAIN.RO
DOMAINuser

Ubuntu :: Hotmail Exchange With Evolution In 10.10?

Apr 17, 2011

I 've got an hotmail (live-mail) account, that I'm using on my iPod with Microsoft Exchange. This is really working fine, so I was very happy when I read, that you can use this feature with Evolution Mail.

Now my Problem is, that the Settings I use on my iPod won't work with Evolution.

I think the Problem is the OWA URL cause whatever I do it can't connect to this Server.

I'll give you the Settings, that work on my iPod:

E-Mail: xxx@hotmail.de
Server: m.hotmail.com
User-Name: xxx@hotmail.de
Password: xxx
SSL: ON

Does anybody know the OWA URL of the Hotmail-Server or does every Account have one of it's own?

Software :: Yet Another Exchange With Evolution On Ubuntu?

Jul 29, 2010

I've got an Ubuntu 10.04 system running Evolution, and I'm trying to integrate it with a slightly older Exchange server. I got the basics all working, email, calendaring, etc. The trouble I'm having is that it crashes pretty frequently, and even using the DavMail tool doesn't help. DavMail just ends up crashing instead!

It seems to me that there is some piece of integration that is broken, or just not set up right. Has anyone seen this? Where it "works", but is very unstable? We've got a few people at my office with this issue on a couple different distros.

Ubuntu :: Without MS Exchange Client Will Never Make Workplace

Apr 12, 2011

I've tried, I really have. Been using Ubuntu for years at home, love it. Been trying to use it at work, but I will always come back to Windows for 1 simple reason. There is no Outlook replacement capable of working with Exchange.Don't suggest Evolution, its a regular crasher on my system, OWA has promise but need re-written from the ground up seemingly.

Canonical is looking for ways to monetise Ubuntu, create a propriatory Thunderbird/Evolution plugin (Thunderbird is my choice), with a free trial for 30 days. If after 30 days it doesn't crash, I'll pay 50 for it.I find it really astounding that this isnt brought up more often.

Ubuntu :: Evolution (apparently) Timing Out With Exchange Server?

I'm experiencing an occasional frustration using Evolution with my work email which is on an MS Exchange 2003 server.Everything usually works well enough, but from time to time I'll try to retrieve a message,Is there a setting I've missed in Evolution that might take care of this, or some other workaround?Let me re-emphasize that the server is a 2003 Exchange server (and a source of endless frustration for a non-windows user). It's not a 2007 or 2010 Exchange server, which is what most companies use these days.

Ubuntu :: Thunderbird & DavMail To Receive MS Exchange Server Mail

Jan 31, 2010

Seems quite a lot out there are finding it simple enough getting Thunderbird/Davmail to work, yet I've been at it for days now and still no luck. I've finally given up altogether with Evolution last week, as it seems from weeks of reading and trying, there just isn't a solution for it to work with Exchange Server mail. Yes I tried brutus and its web sites are down so to get additions such as Brutus Keyring is impossible. (its all a long story for another day)Evolution is now uninstalled and in the bin.So now Im into the 5th day trying with Davmail and Thunderbird to get emails from my company mail exchange server.I am sure Im going to have better luck with Thunderbird from what Ive read so far, but it still eludes me how to set it up with Devmail and the information Ive found so far is not very clear. I am sure I am just missing the most simplest step somewhere along the line.

Can someone please post a detailed instruction on how to configure both Thunderbird and Devmail to work together and also how to test if Davmails is working?I can easily access my company emails via OWA with URl... from my home internet, so no issue there. From the efforts of trying to get Evol to work where it came up with the error. "Evolution connector is not compatible with Exchange 5.5", I assume our company server is running an MS exchange server version 2003 or older.

Ubuntu :: Evolution And Exchange 2007 - Reading Emails Offline?

Jan 21, 2011

I have a little problem with Evolution and Exchange 2007. I have managed to connect to the Exchange server without problem using MAPI and I can access my emails fine.

The only problem I have is that although I have checked all the options to download messages and automatically synchronise account locally it won't store the email contents locally until I first look open it (or at least preview it).

Unfortunately I have over 5000 emails so this presents a little problem.

I don't know if this is a bug or just how evolution works.

OpenSUSE Install :: Exchange XP With Windows 7?

Mar 12, 2010

Well what I want to do is to exchange XP with Windows 7 64bit. I read other threads where someone describes that he had a virus on his XP partition and had to re-install XP. In this case the recommendation was to install XP again and then just repair grub.

Is it really just that easy? I am doubting that things will go so smoothly? I checked the bootloader; does it help to note the settings and re-enter them after the installation?
