how to add an extra shared exchange calendar to my account in Evolution.
Evolution adds my own calendar just fine but I don't know how to add the extra one.
I know that in Outlook you can select "Add shared calendar" but I can't find this option in Evolution.
I have just setup evolution to pull in my exchange emails using MAPI. All seems to be well, except that it isn't pulling down my calendar or tasks. I understood that it was supposed to automatically do this, is this correct?We are using exchange 2005 I believe, so wonder if this is specifically the issue.

I'm guessing those are in different packages? how to get these running? Oh and one more thing, regardless of my default browser, evolution opens things up in rekonq by default. How might I get this working for firefox?

View 1 Replies View RelatedEvolution won't connect to our Exchange Server 2003. I have the Evolution-Exchange plugin installed and the Evolution vsn is 2.28.3. The Ubuntu vsn is 10.04 lucid. In the setup of the mail account I enter the user name in the form domainusername; in the OWA URL I enter the URL in the form - URL... and then I click the authenticate button (can't progress without authenticating). When requested I enter the password. Then comes the error message - could not connect to the server. Make sure the url is correct and try again.
I can connect to OWA using a browser. However I have to negotiate past the browser warning me that the server has a self generated certificate and not from a trusted authority. Maybe this is the problem, I don't know. The fact that I can get to OWA by means of a browser means that the firewall in our router is configured correctly, as is port forwarding to the server.The domain/exchange server is in our office and I have administrator rights.
I reinstalled 11.2 yesterday (wiped / and kept /home). Now when I launch Evolution, it asks me to either create a new account, or to load an archive (which I don't think I have).Why can't it find my mails and calendar? It looks to me like everything is present in the .evolution folder in my home.

I was able to succeed in connecting my email finally by using the IP provided by nslookup, but still am unable to get my google Calendar to connect: Code: Cannot open calendar: Unexpected HTTP status code 2 returned (Cannot resolve hostname (www.google.com)) No proxy settings configured in Evolution or Fedora and none needed. Lemme know what else I can provide.
I have wiped Windows and am running 10.04 exclusively. 32 bit, when setting up evolution e mail account i dont see where to enter password....where is it? anyone have link with screenshots? i know i can use regular hotmail but want to know how to use default ubuntu programs.
I still can't find a spot for password. options are, login, set preferences and a remember password checkbox but nowhere to enter a password
I am thinking of installing a Linux mail server and use it for my company. We are about 3 people that using emails and i do not want do spend a significant amount to get an exchange server. However, i need a mail server that i will be able to get the functionality that exchange server provides such as emails (to my mobile, web access, and using outlook client), calendar, tasks and contacts. View 6 Replies View RelatedThe scenario: We have an external server that runs HTTP/DB servers for out shop system. Then, there's our local, in-house infrastructure that runs a.. yeah... Exchange 2010. The shop system on the external server needs to send mails to customers (order confirmations, invoices, etc.). seing as sending them directly through the local MTA (Postfix) would cause mail delivery problems because of reverse DNS issues, i've set the Postfix MTA to act as a satellite to our in-house Exchange Server, so the Exchange sends the mail instead, giving recipient mail servers a valid reverse DNS lookup.
Now, mails sent by the (proprietary, uneditable) shop system are relayed correctly and sent to the target e-mail address. My problem is: Mails not sent by the shop system, but by our own PHP scripts which run on that same external servers, are NOT relayed properly. So the Exchange is fine with the mails sent by the shop system, but not the mails sent by our scripts. This is what i get in the mail.log: The successfully relayed mail sent by the shop system:

i have redhat linux 5 (2.6.18-53.el5) and i am trying to install davmail as mail client for MS exchange mail system. i am trying to install davmail latest i.e 3.6.6-1032 x86 version. i installed java 1.6. and excuted java -version. it showed me correct version. i.e java 1.6. but when i ran ./davmail.sh it gave me following message it opened port 389 and the next message was DEBUG (checkrelease) davmail: unable to get released version what could be the problem

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn Evolution, suddenly something went wrong, and one of the Calendars (my personal calendar, i have two more) doesn't appear any more. I cannot select it either; when I try to select it, the tick appears for a second (less actually) and disappears again, and the elements on dates don't even appear in that time.
So I tried something to see if something else was going on; I tried to copy the Calendar (right click and Copy..) and I can do it with every Calendar but that one, because a message comes up "Could not open source". Also I've noticed when making right click on it, the "Delete" option is greyed out, not available.
I can see no easy way to launch the calendar from within evolution. In previous versions there were buttons to switch between email, contacts & calendar, now there's only a button to launch contacts from within email. The only solution I've found is to search for Evolution Contacts within Applications, and then I can see no way to pin it to the launcher.

Can I specify to store the Ubuntu Evolution Calendar in a shared folder & access that from Xubuntu Evolution? In that case, how do I specify the calendar file locations for each installation? Is there a better way of achieving a calendar shared between the two machines?

My uni provides an ics feed url.
I know it's possible to import .ics files into evolution, but our timetables are updated daily so I would have to import a new .ics file everyday.
Since upgrading to 10.10 when switching to evolution calendar, my Netbook freezes, completely. Not just the calendar, but the whole interface and I must shut the machine off to escape. I use the Gnome desktop (not the silly netbook one . I can't find any other references to this in the forums, does any one know if this is a known bug? or there is a fix? it isn't listed in the sticky at the top of the general forum.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have tried to import my calendar from an Outlook 2010 .pst file twice and have had the same error both times. Appointments import successfully, but the start time (and end time) is advanced by 8 hours. For example, an appointment in Outlook with the correct start time of 12:30pm appears in Evolution with a start time of 8:30pm. I have confirmed that my system time and time zone are identical and correct in WinXP/Outlook and Ubuntu/Evolution.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had decided to give Ubuntu a go on my work notebook. At work we use Exchange 2003 (at the moment) for email. I had open Evolution and tried to configure it. I got the welcome screen (wizzard), I clicked Forward and then I skipped Restore from backup (since this is a new install) and clicked Forward. It asked for identity and I gave the details (as shown in the first screenshot) then hit Forward and made the necesary settings as shown in the second screenshot. Then I click Authenticate and it asks for my exchange password. i type it and then it gives me the error "Could not locate server.". I am sure the server name is correct and I am sure it resolves correctly (tried it with firefox and works just fine). I also tried username as follows:

I am trying to set up my school e-mail in evolution. They use exchange 2007. When I set it up on my iPod touch, it wouldn't work unless I put in my exchange domain. Where would I put that in evolution?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI 've got an hotmail (live-mail) account, that I'm using on my iPod with Microsoft Exchange. This is really working fine, so I was very happy when I read, that you can use this feature with Evolution Mail.
Now my Problem is, that the Settings I use on my iPod won't work with Evolution.
I think the Problem is the OWA URL cause whatever I do it can't connect to this Server.

I've got an Ubuntu 10.04 system running Evolution, and I'm trying to integrate it with a slightly older Exchange server. I got the basics all working, email, calendaring, etc. The trouble I'm having is that it crashes pretty frequently, and even using the DavMail tool doesn't help. DavMail just ends up crashing instead!
It seems to me that there is some piece of integration that is broken, or just not set up right. Has anyone seen this? Where it "works", but is very unstable? We've got a few people at my office with this issue on a couple different distros.

The problem is that the link to the Yahoo CalDAV calendar is [URL], and in Evolution, it keeps inserting 'caldav://' at the beginning of the link when you click OK when setting up the calendar.
